Is the 4000D any good or is it Canon's last ditch attempt to get people onto the Canon DSLR bandwagon? Let me know down in the comments section below (:
Its decent....I use it and it does give decent results..
Sribhushanapriya Aithal thanks for your input, what lenses are you using? I’d be interested to know (:
@@KaiCreative just the kit lens..:-)
it's very good
What's that lens called in the thumbnail
its not in the Gadget, but it is in your creativity,..
100% - some of the videos I've seen people shoot on their phones is amazing - creativity and story are the main things (:
Well yes but no.You cant have a 140p shot to make it look good but i know what you mean.
I think the most diffrence is at hov the picture is edited
Not really, when you wanna make the next block buster and it looks like minecraft
I agree... Crativity is the key secret while using beginners dslr... I got my 4000D but unfortunately got lazy to practice shooting 🙈😁
Your photos were better then the professional photographers
Haha - I cheated - using the L lens 😉😉
Nope. Kai using expensive lens but the pro photography just use kit lens
@@gundalaputerapetir2402 Doesn't matter! Don't just rely on gear - you can make it look good even with a phone!
@Cat Lady Lover yes, its better in dslr... Coz the size and megapixel is way better in camera than in phone camera...

It seems you can take good pictures and decent basic videos with it. Good for the money
Martin Hommel I was surprised too - didn’t expect it to be half as decent as it was 👍
@@KaiCreative i needs 60fps
@@RichMantaray For 60fps just switch it to NTSC but it will still be in 720p. Upscale it to 1080p with good plugins and no one will notice.
@@haroldradido I would not recommend 720p since the cam downscales the 1080p and it looks wierd. With this cam go with 1080p or save to a nice canon 80d
Everything is blurred when I use it. Do you know the problem ?
Fair play to Canon providing a decent affordable camera for people...
I have a 6d and this camera, I use the 4000d just as much and it's amazing, great image quality for pics and video it's very nice at a very nice price it's boss you can use the big boy primes on it and that's not a cheap feature at all . I can't stand it when people think they need a 2 to 3000 dollar camera, that's just ridiculous. And I paid 400 for my 4000d and 400 dollars is not cheap at all in my opinion. 400 dollars is decent money to spend
Just convinced me. Got it.

Me too! Thanks!
@@weidazhang4000 Thank You (:
hey is it good for taking photos with flares ,paint powder etc ?
Is it good? Would u recommend
In my opinion, the 4000D is indeed a great camera for beginners and I'm looking forward to giving it as a present for a friend however, I have also been using a Canon 200D for quite some time now and I really don't recommend the 50mm lens on a crop sensor camera unless you want to go for 75 or 80mm total focal length. I mostly recommend the 35mm F1.2 or F1.4 instead if you want the same equivalent 50mm total focal length. But that's just my cup of tea.
Is 4000d is best as we compare to 200d or 200d ii ?
I've got the Canon EOS 4000D it's a very good camera that's gives Sharpe images and beautiful content. 👍
Im using this, almost 1 year ... Yes I really satisfied for the result. The most important is not about the gadget, but how you use it
Great Point! Thanks (:
I have recently purchased this camera and all that I can say is that it gives a solid performance for its price. The fact that it's light weight helped on transporting it from one place to another for photoshoots. I have yet to test it in indoor gym scenarios, but for outdoor photography, portrait shots, normal lighting (inside), it's a decent camera especially for its price.
How much the price please
Thanks
@@jmmendez3647 I had got it (new) of €340 with a kit lens, though it has gone down in price since then.

Use manual focus to get fine captures
Had the 4000D for around a year now, it was my fifth camera but first DSLR. Had mostly stuck with auto modes on previous compact and bridge cameras but soon started using manual mode most of the time with this. Have found more enjoyment out of setting shutter speed and changing the aperture for great bokeh and exposure effects. Recently got the 50mm lens and it’s awesome! The only thing that lets the 4000D down is not having a microphone socket or intervalometer port, maybe I should’ve spent that bit more on the 2000D
Good point Tom! I've just made a Guide to Video on the Canon 4000D that covers that point! You can check it out here:
ruclips.net/video/PJkXDYZ3djs/видео.html
No mic input or head phone input is so disappointing
I just found this video so I'm a bit late. But just gonna put my thoughts anyways.
Bought this mid 2019 and this was my first ever camera. I didn't know how to compose or anything, I just love the telephoto of a camera where you can't get on a phone. I have to say, for something this cheap (after knowing other many other cameras and their prices) I manage to create some amazing photos. With its limitation, it pushes you to be more creative especially with the shutter speed. I never knew what photography was like before so I just thought of buying the cheapest DSLR and got it.
I don't really regret getting it but I wished I knew better and bought something a little bit better like the 1500D (I'm just a high school student and on a budget so what can I say lol). The wifi function however, was very very helpful in transferring photos to my phone quickly! After months of using it, I highly recommend getting this for someone that is VERY NEW to the world of photography. Just pair it with the right lenses and it will produce some crisp sharp photos, though loading the photos can sometimes be slow.
Idk if this will make any sense, but does it do like a freeze frame. Like if you were to shoot someone jumping or dunking a basketball, will it freeze in the moment or will it come out blurry? I’m so new so I don’t know if I worded that right.
@@leahc7757 You can definitely do that. The digital shutter speed can get to 1/4000 and it's definitely enough to capture someone jumping mid air. Although the speed of the shutter can be a problem since it only captures 2 frames a second (2 fps)
Hi! What lense do you recommend?
@@kmtbeautyesthetics7979 for beginners, a kit lens should be enough to be familiar with the camera. If you want a new lens, a 50mm f/1.8 should be a good one.

i got the 4000D for my birthday a year ago and i actually quite like it. i’m in no way a professional or habe any advanced knowledge of photography but this camera does quench my thirst of playing around with effects/etc. plus i often go backpacking so i don’t like to carry around heavy equipment - the 4000D’s light weight really comes in handy then!
i’ve been using the 18-55mm kit lens and the 76-300mm for the past year. absolutely in love with the 75-300 one but absolutely cannot get comfortable with the 18-55... i really don’t know what it is😂
i’m thinking of getting either a 24mm or a 35mm one. i usually shoot street photography on my trips and i’m not quite sure yet which one will do better 🤷🏽♀️😂 any recommendations?

Yes but the sound is not very good
I'm mostly interested in taking cinematic videos, is this a good starting point?
Good question - are you already familiar with DSLRs? I reckon that this camera could be used for that purpose. It would be challenging though - depends a lot on your budget too.

I watched this video when it came out and thought that I might want this camera but still wasn't sure. Then my wife surprised me with one this morning! I've been putting it through my amateur paces and find that it's only slightly better in resolution than my Canon IXUS 285 HS. Just 3 more megapixels. But the ability to add lenses and flash devices and to go full manual, will hopefully make a difference. Thanks for the review!

that's not a standard hot-shoe dude :)) it lacks the central pin, a feature omitted intentionally that restricts you to use canon overpriced dedicated flashes.
This is exactly like my 550D! The iso, continuous shooting speed, sensor...
Honestly this is all so confusing to me. Not because of your video but just all the lens and the different features. There are so many canon cameras it makes my brain hurt. I want a camera to take close up makeup looks as well as a full length picture of someone. I want a camera that can film videos and take the picture rather well but for an affordable price. I’m rather new so I don’t really know what I’m doing 😕.
I have the canon 4000d. I think it's nice for us beginners, because we are still learning about photography. It will help me to get my way to the top, and when I own a higher quality camera I will be familiar with DSLR usage.
Keep working at it and you’ll be there in no time 💪

If only you were right about the standard hot shoe, it's a not a bad camera at all, but the hot shoe mount is such a pain.
Indeed - Apologies :-/
Am a beginner in photography ... Is this 4000D worth for beginners ...
If you are an absolute beginner - I.e you don’t know how to set aperture, shutter speed or iso- then yes - it’s a good start to learn :)
Hey, I'm a bit late to the party, but here's my experience with the 4000d:
I was an "informed" beginner (I know about the aperture, shutter speed, etc..) but never actually practiced. This camera is pretty decent for a beginner, at least photography. But you'll soon reach it's limits. It gets a loooooot of noise in extreme low light (tried astrophotography, it was really bad, extreme noise). But for the daylight and evening light (even night time was decent in a city with the city lightning and a fast lens such as f/1.8). I got some pretty good results with it, but now that I wanna try video, I might change my camera with another APS-C DSLR or mirror less. Anyway, I've used it for more than a year, and I was pretty happy about it. I've paid it around 250€, so that's pretty nice for a bit more than a year (around 20€ a month, that's half what a pay my gym !!)
Should a beginner buy this?
100% a beginners camera 📸 👌
I have it myself, but as far as I know spending just few bucks more Nikon has something to offer (d3500?)camera with better sensor, with more mega pixels 21 and way better dinamic range...it's worth research,I didn't try that one I have canon 4000d after a year I see where that camera has it limits unfortunately...
Nice review. In some markets if not all it will come with the non IS kit lens which for outdoor photography is a non issue most of the time. Excellent for young people getting into photography. Older people, or anyone with not so good eyesight, should check the viewfinder carefully because it does not have dioptre adjustment.
Thanks Brent 🙏 nice points here 👌

Thank you for this video! I'm starting to get close to photography world, but I'm not able to choose among this camera, the 2000D or the Nikon D3500. I'd say 4000D because I fear this could be a temporary passion and so I could waste my money, but at the same time, I don't want a camera that takes picture of the same quality of the ones taken by a good smartphone. I noticed also some bridge cameras (Nikon Coolpix B500 or B600), but I'd prefer a reflex to learn to take pictures in manual mode and have more "control" over settings, even if I won't buy new lenses (but, as you said, never say never). What's your advise?
Thanks for your question Dalfi, If you are not sure if this passion will last and if you are looking at first steps into learning how to take pictures in manual mode than this is probably one of the best options for you. It's really cheap and gives you all the options you need to build a foundation in photography and just learn, once you are proficient enough and if you still have that passion you will probably then decide to move onto something more advanced. Hope that helps (:
If you find out you like it but still can't afford an 1000 dollar body i recommend the d3500, i went to it from a canon t3 and it's extremely capable for the price
I'd recommend the Nikon D3500. It's much better overall than the Canon 4000D. Now of course it's $200 more but it's better in the long term as you don't need to switch bodies after like a year of using it. If you have a higher budget, go for the Canon T7i or Nikon 5600-7500. If you have an even higher budget, go for a full fra- just kidding, don't. Seriously, if you're new to photography don't buy a high-end body and then cheap out on lenses. If you have the money, then go for it I guess.
D3500 all the way
how good the photos are depends on the situation and photographer

Put an 85mm 1.8 or 50mm 1.4 on it and your pictures will be fabulous. A fast lens is the key to great photos. The kit lens pictures were pretty good though. It is a good value.
Does it record in a 16:9 aspect ratio?
I have 4000D camera but I wonder if I shot video it's always short to automatically stop in 43 seconds why is that?
Thanks for your question - please check that your SD card can read and write fast enough - this is usually the problem with short recording times like this - buy a newer faster SD card (: hope it helps
@@KaiCreative ok I try to find that stuff for my SD card
Could you add a microphone using a adapter to change micro USB into and female input for a 3.5mm
ohh need to check that,
how is it look like?
Can i use this for a professional project? Like landscape pictures for a book being written?
Yes it can do that 👍 I have a step by step guide on how to use the 4000D for photography - follow these steps to help you 👌 Canon 4000D Beginners Guide to Photography | 2021 | KaiCreative ruclips.net/video/912ZE4S_q_k/видео.html
hmmm... good review. You deserve more subscribers man😊
Thanks Christine - as long as you subscribed that’s all that matters 😁😉
Should I get this one or the T6? Now I'm confused hhahahahah. I'm going to use it for class (I study Mass Communication and I have three photography classes: Fundaments of photography, photography II and photojournalism), but I would actually like to have a camera that stays with me until I graduate. My dad is the one that's going to pay for it, so I don't want him to spend a lot of money asajskdlsa do you recommend another one?
they're pretty much the same, really. 1300D has a slightly bigger LCD screen. I suggest getting a camera that at least has automatic sensor cleaning, otherwise it'll be a bitch whenever stuff gets on your sensor.
Imma just buy a nice lens for my camera instead of changing the body
Put some nice glass in front of that sensor and get your lighting right and you will get some nice images (:
I got to the point when realising that unfortunately I need a new body, the dinamic range of that camera is not as good as I wish
@@kamyk80 why what is your camera?
Canon d4000
Don't get me wrong, all my friends love my pictures,so do I but I noticed when it comes to editing getting details from shadows and highlights is really hard without loosing quality (shooting raw and iso 100),just my observation
Why is there a grey color filter overlay on this video?
4000d or oneplus 7 pro?
it depends on what you want to do....
The canon has no mic jack, please can you tell me how you fixed your audio problem ?
Great question I just made a Guide to Video on the Canon 4000D that talks about this issue here:
ruclips.net/video/PJkXDYZ3djs/видео.html
Can’t really say much considering it’s ~$300. But if you have more flexibility I would def go with the SL3 (250D). WAYYY more bang for your buck. It’s the best beginner SLR. If your goal is to become better and produce quality, you will find the limits of this camera very fast.
I see a lot of people saying this Canon is not very good. I’m 14 years old, for me this reflex is a good way to begin take photos, i want be a photographer in the future, so I buy it. After obviously i take best DSLR.
This camera is a good start. I know that for a fact. I have the same camera.
Was very very good Eugene is an excellent photographer and so are you and hello from Atlanta Georgia thank you for sharing this great video pictures came out very nice very very nice thank you again Happy Holidays
Thanks Joe - much appreciated- Eugene is a great photographer - be sure to check out his Instagram page! I’ve put a link to him in the description 🙏🙏
£250? where can i find this, because all i'm seeing is £330-£350 :/
Yes I know, I'm not able to find it cheap anymore either? I guess the demand has gone up?
Thanks for this review that shows a lot has to be done by who is using the tool. Pretty nice camera
Exactly bro, like the old saying goes a bad worker blames his tools, if you put the same tool in a capable workers hands then they can turn around some pretty decent images (:
I know it hurts when people say wow that camera takes amazing pictures...I need to get one...just hurts😁😁😁
One question that really baffles me....
why can my 300$ phone shoot 4k@60fps & 1080p@240fps video
but a DSLR of roughly the same price can only do 1080@25 or 720p@50
as much as the sharpness is better when it comes to photos , there is no comparison here , why do "real cameras" suck so much at taking videos ?
Yeh - this is definitely an issue that is hard to justify for purchasing a dedicated camera. There are a few things to keep in mind though.
Firstly this camera is really dedicated to produce photos, that is what it was primarily designed for - video options seem to have been thrown in as an extra selling point.
Secondly this camera is more than a few years old now and video capabilities on phones have sky rocketed in the last couple of years.
Thirdly you will get better photos on this camera than probably 90% of phones on the market currently - but it has to have a good lens and probably be in the hands of a good photographer to archive this. With modern phones - point and shoot photos and videos from most novices can look really great because the phones do all the work!
As an iPhone 14 pro user myself I am blown away by how good it is for photos and videos- I actually made a comparison video of it against this Canon 4000D camera that you can check here if you want: ruclips.net/video/mYgJQQx_R8k/видео.html
@@KaiCreative Thanks , i will definitely check it out
Even though this camera is a few years old , it is still the cheapest new DSLR you can buy in my country at 300€ , which is what prompted me to search more about it here on youtube
worth every penny, main downside... non-standard hotshoe, no power button, no dioptre adjuster, plastic mount.
Thanks for filling in some extra nuggets of information :) good to have this perspective!
Yep , got one ,. The hot shoe is kinda the problem ,.
You really are a photographer , Beautiful Takes Love from Pakistan
Thank you 🙏
Thank you! Gonna purchase this, can anyone recommend good downloadable editing software for a tablet for a beginner?
lightroom mobile on play store, you can also donwload presets for lightroom
@@leonmikulic3353 thank you!
I'm thinking that some people might get a very cheap camera in order to be able to afford an expensive lens. And there's also the use of back-up cameras to consider.
amazing, I loved everything about it, and it will be my best option to start filming.. but it's still expensive to me.. I will keep filming with my phone.
I just got an iphone XS Max and am interested to start filming with it to see what it can do:)
yes, we waiting for it
Waste of money. Get an a6000 or use a phone
I wanna buy this camera because I wanna start photography
Is this a good camera for a beginner and has it got good quality?
Yes - a great little camera to help you jump into photography (:

Why have I not seen a hint of this channel ? Swiftly Subbed !
Thank you Sergeant Crow! Love that name by the way... (:
@@KaiCreative Thanks.. The name is Purely random ! The crow is local one who was walking by, now immortalised by an old Sigma DL70-300 Hard to pick a name sometimes... Wishing you all the best for you and channel for 2020..
is it good for sport photograpy? i have this camera. please recommend me for lense for sport photograpy.
Def gonna Need a good zoom lens - depending on your budget - 70-200mm or more
@@KaiCreative thanks Kai for your answer 🙌
It all depends on lens magic
Hows microphone though? You left that out? Does it connect to a microphone? How does it sound with just the camera video?
2:13 - there is no headphone input or mic input with this camera. You can't hear audio on playback via the camera, but it is recorded to the card. It's not great. One solution around this is to record separately to an mp3 recorder and sound sync in post. It's a lot of work, so if you're looking for something primarily for video you might want to add a bit more to your budget and get something like a M50 or SL3.
Kai Creative thats unfortunate
