Personally I think the imbalance issues were a massive oversite with Bullworker missing out on a good opportunity to have an advantage over the old X5 versions with only have one stitching point and have the same issues, I’ll stick with my old x5 that has 2 stitching points and doesn’t have the imbalance issue.
I DIY'd a tube handle on my classic Bullworker. Easy enough to do. Wrap some thick rope around the tube three times, leaving a finger width between the loops. Use hockey tape to cover it all and tape it against the tube. Note: Only add a tube handle to the end which has the outer tube, otherwise, you won't be able to fully compress the Bullworker when doing things such as lat pulls.
This works better than the black plastic handles of the classic X5 because you can put a finger under each coil of the rope for a far better grip. Also, hockey tape is more 'grippy' than plastic.
I got my 5 pro last week it a fantastic piece of equipment
Your video on the best Bullworker inspired me to look for and purchase a used X5 a little over a month ago. That was me joking about them sending you a new Bullworker X5. So happy to see this review and that they were so great to send you a new X5!
I love my X5 pro
You can also take the spring out of the old X5 for cleaning.
The new X5 seems to be a good device. I also like that inflation calculation. But there is still a catch. You still get the old X5 brand new. It is still produced. The price is under 100 Euros. So everybody has to decide. More comfort or tradition. Especial for beginners, the new one is better because they can start with a very low spring and work their way up.
You can get the original X5 brand new? From where my friend?
@@masonictrucker8031 I got one via sport-tec in Germany
Im so happy for you. Love your videos, great content, happy you got your respect.
Hi so just got a new x5 from amazon comes from japan does not have changeable springs, but is a proper x5 and they are great the handles and the double straps, do make a difference.Cost $121 delivered and I have a new classic $240 delivered, just harve for pounds.
Bull worker should come out with a real X5 with changeable 2 spring system as it gives you a much better pump
I had the X5. I ‘fell out’ with Bullworkers when I used weights. I now regret selling it around 20 years ago, but I now have the Bow Basic.
Great video. I have an original X5 that I regularly use as part of my training and have done for years. The interchangeable springs of different strengths will make this new one better for different exercises as some need more levels of resistance and some need less. I'm really looking forward to your workout video for a real world review. It'll be interesting to see how the shorter length and variable tension springs work for different exercises using both isometric and isotonic training.
Informative video, thanks!
The Bullworker is a concept and a clever marketing idea from the 60's. It doesn't matter which era model you have they are pretty much the same. The original X 5 allowed for a few more exercises and came with a booklet and a wall chart. Any Bullworker is a useful tool to have, is portable and doesn't require much space to use and is pretty indestructible (unless you are on the set of Never Say Never).
The latest ones are a simple variant of the original but again are useful yet not necessarily a total body workout system.
I always find your videos an inspiration! The inter-changeable springs seems a great idea, but my two concerns are the lack of inner lips and the shorter overall length restricting the potential range of movement. For above the head workouts it is impossible to push the old X5 all the way in. That is, of course, where the option of an easier spring would come in handy! For these, I use a power twister and an original bullworker because you can pull in on the cable and get a greater range of movement.
This is a new edition of the old SteelBow28 and NOT a Bullworker X5. The first is a product from Bullworker USA. The second is from Koelbel Germany. The Koelbel X5 is the FINAL edition and has nothing to do with this prodoct except the name catch.
Bullworker devices are great pieces of equipment. I like the steel bow and the Bow Basic 28 inch. The full size Bullworker I use the least.
FYI the steel worker is ideal for travels, it fits great in a checking luggage. It’s like the American Express, never leave home without it. Hotel gyms are so iffy, I travel with my own gym.
This Bow 28 in is perfect for the office, sit and be fit!
A full sized bullworker classic can be broken in half to fit into a travel bag. If I had to pass a comment on the entire Bullworker franchise... they are too expensive for what they are.
Wow! Love your hi-fi setup!
I have a hifi channel if you're interested? youtube.com/@utilitariantvuk?si=_pIzOfByOgeAkk2s
There must be a way of having the inner cylindrical hand grips , and the interchangeable springs.....IF this can be achieved , then , I think you will have the ULTIMATE BULLWORKER....So , I will wait , and continue to use my old X5 , which is 42 years old....Bullworker gear is expensive....but remember , it is top quality equi0ment that works with dedication from the user.
So without the handles it's not an x5 it's just a new bullworker classic with straps!!!
I have dealt with the current BW folks for a while now. They are a great bunch of guys.
The X5 pro looks very nice.
Today, Sat 13/04/2024 this Bullworker shown for sale on E-bay at £299.00 plus £4.99 postage from Manchester UK.
It is robbery at that price.
@@andrewsmith8729 On B/W's website it's £249.99 and no Custom Duty.
Nice leak amp in the background
I bought a Bullworker back in the late 80s/very early 90s i think from Argos? I like the idea with this version of you actually being able to change the spring inside so you can actually do progressive overload to build muscle. But i HAVE to say it, you would be SO much better off with a secondhand set of weight plates, barbell and dumbbells (even the super cheap vinyl concrete filled weight plates but you will be better off with metal as it will last forever) Over the years i`ve built a very respectable homegym for not much money and i`m now on the verge of being 50 and look the best i`ve ever looked being bigger muscle wise and fitter than ever before. I use a doorway chin up bar, dip bars, standard metal weight plates, dumbbells, barbells, bench, squat/bench stands with safeties (so when set if i was Squatting or Bench Pressing with a lot of weight and i completely failed and dropped the weight it will be caught by the safeties) landmine attachment and the recent addition of a 2nd hand multigym. So i know have literally EVERYTHING i could ever need and train 5 days a week in a space that i can say what i want, dress how i want, the weights and equipment are always where they should be and not laying spread out across the floor, i dont have to wait for equipment, i wont catch disgusting skin diseases/health conditions from other peoples sweat or (GAG!) other body fluids! I don`t have sad act influencers trying to mock the weight i can lift or females catching me checking out their arse on camera haha! Training at home is GREAT!
Yeah, gyms are a treacherous place. Keep your eyes on the floor and a bottle of alcohol hand gel at the ready.
@LivingWellTV it's certainly cleaner and the only germs I pick up would be mine and then only if my personal hygiene was poor (that would be my own fault!) I did USED to train at a local gym during the day when it was nigh on empty and it was fine. But after changing jobs and needing to train at peak times it was horrendous, @#£% all that! So I defo highly recommend home training.
the fact behind the bullworker is that it builds strength up 66 percent faster than with weights because of the isometrics
@@Leosfitness67 All a bullworker does is force more blood into a muscle so it inflates the less used inner core muscle fibres.
Nice piece of kit realistically will those extra springs add to enhancing muscle growth anymore than the original design.
I think it's useful when you are working larger muscle groups, especially the legs.
too bad, they didn't keep the black bars on the tube on both sides which allowed it to be held better for certain exercises, there they just kept the straps of the X5, but the rest is totally different, the springs are good , but they could have managed to keep the handles on the tube, and with a black tube to change rather than chrome if they wanted but by keeping the additional handles on the tube like the X5 by adding changeable springs, there we could have said that it was really an evolution of the X5
It is a shame, I wonder whether it's to do with the patents as they still produce the original X5 in Germany?
@@LivingWellTVI also agree with what you say in the video, it's true that the black handles on the tube can make the opening system more difficult to put in the springs, but nevertheless I think it's probably doable , on the the hand still passes with a few centimeters less, otherwise find a better opening and closing system to be able to keep these handles, for example keep the handshake independent as it is on the one you have but with the black handle which we are talking about fixed on the tube, like that, it did not prevent the opening, and then the lock which would have been inserted into the black part of the handle of the tube when closing to assemble the 2, in short I really think that it is feasible. Otherwise for the patents I don't really know, I don't have any details for the moment on this subject, and I don't really understand why there are also 2 joints on the straps of certain Bullworker X5s and on others 4, strange
Great video ... Greetings from india. Pls could you advise should i upgrade to the x5pro as i have the steel bow version. And how would it be worth it. Thanks
Stick with the steel bow.
Hello sir, I have the X5 Bullworker and it is OK for me because I am only 5'5" and my arm span is not that long. I find it difficult to do many exercises for my upper body because the handles are hard to reach and get a good hold of. For this reason, I am really considering the x5 Pro which is 8 inches shorter. What do you think? I do not want the steel bow because it is only 20 inches and that I feel is a bit too small. So do you think this would be a good choice for my size etc? Thank you
I'm 5'8'' and I find it better to use than the originals.
@@LivingWellTV My wife bought is for my birthday which is tomorrow and I will give it a try then. Thank u
Wondering if it's better to get this the Bullworker X5 28" over the Bullworker Bow Classic 36". I just want one of these at the moment. What do you think? Which would you choose if you had to pick one? Thanks for posting these awesome videos!
I prefer the X5 28". I'm under 6ft and find the 36" a bit too long.
@@LivingWellTV Thanks
I have all three sizes, the steel bow, the 28 inch bow Basic, and the 36 inch Bullworker. The 28 inch is ideal for when you are sitting at your desk, watching Tv, longing in the back yard, etc. it’s really handy convenient and practical.
The steel bow I use most when im traveling so my workout goes with me. I like it for doing curls with it and getting a good sweat after work at the office.
The Bullworker 36 inch is bulky. I use it the least, but because it’s larger you can do exercises with more range of motion. I do use it, but at a much less rate than the other two.
If you want it for practicality around the house I’d say the 28 inch is ideal size. I’m 6 feet tall and it’s perfect.
👍.
YEAH yeah bullshit
