    I love that Coop and the team review adjustable dumbbells so much. In a home gym, these are super convenient. You don't have to have dozens of dumbbells or add plates, secure plates, use dumbbells, remove plates, re-rack plates, fetch other plates, and secure again. You just rack and twist.

    I have the Nuobells and they are amazing. I have had them for a couple of years with no issues. I do like that they have replacement parts now. Just found out about that here (thanks Coop!). The only thing I would change is to go up to 100 pounds or more, but 80 is fine for most accessories. If you want smaller increments, you could always throw on some platemates. I do recommend getting the stand with them. It's a quality piece and really makes them easier to use.

    I love my trulap dumbbells. I mentioned this in another video but if you get the 1.25 magnetic add-ons you can basically go up in 1 1/2 pound increments on the trulaps. That’s hard to beat. And the knurl is pretty aggressive, I would equate it to the Gungnir of Norway adjustable dumbbells, just thicker shaft.

    I just got my trulaps, took a month and a half after ordering to get them from Canada to Florida. For a couple weeks they were out of stock, but the rest was UPS delays, customs declarations, etc. and to top it off they misplaced one of the 6 boxes and it took an extra week after the other 5 arrived. Other than shipping issues, they look and feel great, I dont mind the relatively thick handles, and the overall length is longer than nuobells but not if you stop at 80lbs like the nuobells. I don't think these are going to break or fail anytime soon either.

    I have had the Gen 2 Trulaps for a couple weeks. The shipping to get them was very frustrating, but they arrived well packed in 6 different boxes so there was no damage due to overweight boxes. Assembly was very easy, disappointed that the stand for the Gen 2’s won’t be out for another 2 months so I have to deal with them on the ground for now.
    Getting to the actual product I would say that there are a GameChanger for me. My current home gym had a lot of voids in my dumbells where the increment jumps were just too large to be able to go to the next size per exercise. With these dumbbells having the ability to go up 2 to 3 pounds it works out very well. When doing rear shoulder exercises and you don’t want to make larger jumps for a smaller muscle group. It allows you to do so. I love the larger grip. I don’t notice the weights rattling much as long as your motion is controlled. if you look online for discount codes, you can even get the trulaps cheaper then what is on this video. The stainless steel look is awesome. Thank you for putting out videos like this as a previous review you did on these adjustable dumbbells really helped me make my decision.

    Do the Nuobells have different levels of knurling available?
    I had one handle (knurl and gearing) replaced after the plastic gearing case broke. Unfortunately I only took the broken handle in, so it took a few days for me to notice that the knurling on the replacement was much less aggressive.
    Picking them up and instantly feeling different levels of knurl drives me nuts.
    *EDIT*: the part that broke in my case was the plastic gear housing. It was dropped from shin height, on an angle, onto a thick rug over a wooden floor with cork underlay. IIRC it had 6 or 8Kg on it at the time.

    I wanted the heavier one and preferred smaller increments, so I ultimately went with Trulap.
    I will say, though, that if they're not in stock when you order, be ready to wait up to two months to receive them. Hopefully Trulap works on their communication and getting a better sense of their distributors as they mature as a company.
    I ordered January 31. At the time, the website said they expected to ship early to mid February. By the end of February, they updated their website to say they expected to ship early to mid March. I received no communication anywhere along the way; I was just checking the website. They finally shipped March 26 and arrived April 1.
    I still would have ordered them had I known I wouldn't get them for 2 months, but the lack of communication and their website just pushing the date out was a pain point.

  • @steverapos3904
    @steverapos3904 2 месяца назад +1

    I would say Trulap - Nuobell has minor advantages but Trulap is more durable and has a higher weight - those are the most distinctive differences. As well, Trulap has consistent 1.5kg weight increments - this is actually an upgrade - just because the increments are not 5 or 2.5 pound increments doesn't make it worse to me.

      @@a.e.3323 I originally wanted to order them from Trulap but the shipping to Europe was through the roof, so I looked up the same dumbbells via google images.
      As far as I was able to deduce, Assassin Goods (UK), JSM (Poland), Carbyne (Singapore), Alibaba (China, but minimum order is 32 pieces) are all the same.
      AG seemed like the best option for me logistically, 3 years extended warranty and spare parts.

    Personally, I’ve never found the cage design of the Powerblock to be annoying. Yes, it creates limitations if you want to do a goblet squat or waiter curls, for example, but other than these limited circumstances, I’ve yet to see a reason to get rid of my Powerblocks.

    Screw 5 to 45 pounds being there. Such a waste of money for the whole range

      @Urmyrx 2 месяца назад

      That's a good idea. One of the adjustable dumbbell companies could offer a set that goes from 5-50 and a different set that goes 50-100. Sure ppl would end up with 4 dumbbells but would have a wider range available in a smaller profile dumbbell.

    I would love of Trulap would make a set that goes up to 100 lbs in 5 lb increments. Maybe just up the plate diameter by 5% to make them that way for cheaper tooling or casting. All the other parts can stay the same size aside from the cradle maybe but that would also be a cheaper tooling update. I would happily pay $100 more for a pair if they could make these changes.

Recently watched a review on bands performed by the 3 ladies which they listed their top picks, but they did not list what they winners were compared to, and the criteria for the choices was pretty much non-existant. It was just bad quality and a blemish on the site.

    I feel like GGR gets a lot more kickback from Nuobells. Coop recommends them all the time and the knurling is passive on them not to mention how frail they are.
    I have the Nuobells and the IronMasters for a reason. Nuobells are quick to adjust but I treat them with care knowing how much plastic is in there. The IronMasters are my absolute go to for heavy because they aren’t so frail.
    If I had to do it again I think I’d go Rep now that they are on the scene.
