As an INFP, I wonder if that is what held me in Christianity for so long, this idea that eventually everything and everyone could be perfect in heaven. The idea that we could be made "whole" and having a set of rules and ideas that lead to being seen as perfect and complete. Also, as the Mediator aspect of an INFP personality plays out, it could be that it makes it possible for everyone to be included and that impossible idealism of perfection for everyone can be obtained. Another interesting video Clay. Wouldn't it be great if everyone walked around with their MBTI or enneagram type on display so we could figure each other out?
I'm INFP and was enlightened at age 23, it's possible! I didn't even need to believe in Jesus, I got to heaven (litterally, heaven, btw. I thought it was symbolic but it's actually litterally, earths em field) anyway, you just need to embody authenticity and believe in your soul and be sensitive to what makes you heart expand etc. (beliefs that results in guilt or shame doesn't expand your heart but self-love and self-forgiveness does, just to point out) Also there is a bunch of supressed emotions we need to release while being in a space we love ourselves at the same time Brain Heart coherence is key
As I've done some healing work on myself, I've noticed some of the INFJ tendencies didn't resonate with me anymore. I've associated myself as an INFJ for likely a decade. I retook the MBTI test to find out I've moved over to ENFJ! Nice to feel like I have superpowers from both. I have become more of a mentor over the past 2 years in a couple of community circles. Can't wait to see if I change again!
As an INFP, I'd have chosen the word whimsical. I think the world doesn't really see the merit in our whimsical streak. I mean, for Christmas, I built a fairy garden for my niece with my girlfriend's help. And on my 46th birthday, I went to Flip Out to bounce on their trampolines. I think most INFPs probably enjoy tweaking the nose of reality, which may come across as idealistic and unrealistic. Indeed, a middle-aged man bouncing on a trampoline could be whimsical, idealistic or even unrealistic, depending on your point of view. But hey, if the world thought more like INFPs it might be less dreary.
I have an ENTP son. I actually don´t see his argumentative side as negative. He doesn't think it badly. It's his way of having a consistent understanding of the world and helping others to have it as well. He is always willing (and maybe even secretly longing) to change his opinion if I give him arguments good enough and based on logic. I think it's more a game for him... definitely not a flight. I (INFJ) have learnt a lot from him in this area. From my opinion his biggest struggle is that he is brilliant in too many areas, having too many great ideas and not having ability to choose only one of them and stay with it long enough until it brings its truly ripe fruits. (edit: now I have finished listening to the video - lacking focus is mentioned as a negative quality of ENFPs - I think it's also true for ENTPs... I would call ENFPs even chaotic in a sense of lacking structure - but I truly love them for it because it brings such a huge creativity)
My Dad was an ISTJ too!....and "reliable but rigid" seems accurate to me. :) ...and O M G !!!!!!!...my sister is an ESTP....and I can hardly believe it , but I was just thinking yesterday about what specific adjective I could use to describe the quality in her that drives me absolutely NUTS!...and....I kid you not.... that word WAS "reckless"!!!! Yes "energetic" would apply as well, but that's not the quality in her that drives me nuts...and I suppose, if she wasn't running the entire family, maybe I wouldn't care how reckless she was either. But she IS. As an INFJ I don't think I would gravitate toward ESTPs either..in fact, I don't think I know any others...however, occasionally I'll encounter people who have very similar mannerisms and communication style as my sister and I immediately think "ESTP"..."STEER CLEAR!"
From an INFP: I mostly agree with both Chat GPT and you. I have a sister who is an ENFJ, and I've never found her to be overbearing. She is a little needy for attention, but responds well to a clear "Shoo!." Not that I'm likely to use that approach to frequently for fear of hurting her feelings. My friend of decades was a an ENTP. Our "debates?", which I thought of as conversations, never ended in arguments. They frequently ended in him talking in circles while I waited for him to come up with new points. He did talk too much at times, but he was interesting! As for the two types that perplex me the most; the INTJ, and INFJ. Was Dr.Frankenstein an INTJ? And INFJs?! Most of what I read about INFJS sounds just like me. The rest makes me wonder if I'm dealing with an alien. Like in this video. Excellent video. 🎉
Great talk, thanks Clay! INFP is the core type for the hippy movement of the 1960's. Idealistic, unrealistic, high values-based approach to life and relationships. I also have to agree with the INFJ descriptions. (nice hair!) (INFJ)
I’m infj i live with an isfp and he’s so artistically talented is so crazy but he’s a big ball of emotions. He does take a bit to ruminate on choices but i do too sometimes.
I've known a couple of people that are INTJ (I don't even suspect, INTJs are like the most obvious type for me to notice for some reason). Anyway, people I suspect to be infjs suddenly become very close with them when they enter their lives. I think people with lead Ni just see each other immediately out in the world and instantly gel haha. I remember one INTJ saying to an INFJ once, "You remind me of me 10 years ago" hahaha
Aloof for INTP is only what is seen on the outside by others, It's really not at all if you know them and if they are close to you and are loyal to you. I'll think of a word. They don't look at long term consequences, if there is a word for that.
I notice I am very ‘plan’ orienteered. I know my goal and I try to work towards it. If that falls apart, I try to have a backup plan. I tend to not just make stuff up in the moment like some people. But to be honest, maybe that’s a good thing? I might try a competition in Feb.
@@ClayArnall I think it might be a good thing, especially if you practice it long enough maybe Ni would help to see patterns to help you out and you can have more back up plans. I have also done jiu jitsu (Japanese) and I enjoyed it but I found the ground fights quite difficult compared to kicking and locks. Would be interesting maybe if more INFJs did similar sports/hobbies. Anyways good luck with the competition!
As an INTP, I have had friends/ relatives of mine call me too aloof… so I think the word was pretty accurate. Might not be the case for all INTPs, but at least a few minds were thinking alike there, haha. Also… getting called a “background personality”
Heyy clay, I'm tired of people in Quora and Reddit mistaking MBTI with BIG-5. They call me psedopsycologist, Many people who respect and Request my answer are genuinely confused by this. Can you please make a video about this
Well there might be a link to be honest! Sometimes I wonder if you can describe many of the personalities in terms of other things. The NFPs are often associated with ADHD.
I love how humanly deeply competent and humanly educated, cultivated and sensual you are, generally but extra palpable in this video.

But INFJs can mentor/nurture just fine .
Really enjoyed this one. Thanks Clay.
Thanks for watching!

20:35 : INFJ
To my fellow INFJs.(and to the creator) Often last but enjoy.

Haha that’s a funny story. Yeah, I feel like a lot of ‘gym bro’ types are either ESTJs or ESTPs. I keep to myself in the gym 😂

Lol i freaked out when you mentioned jiu justsu and ISTPs. I have ONE ISTP friend in my life and he happens to do jiu jutsu 🤣

Im an INTJ and have always had INFJs in my life .
Me INTJ INFP relationship I had was great we were so in our own world. But wow the INFP will judge/miss-judge .
ENTJ ambitious but pragmatic . They are so not interested in the abstract as an INTJ this the main difficulty I have .

I agree with the word distracted for ESFPs lol.
Liked the video, I wondered how you experience jiu jitsu as someone who does not have a strong Se and therefore isn't as adaptable as the others ?

I would say ISFP are more Artistic but moodswings lol
Cool idea to ask chat and than ask the audience. Thx. 😊 With the ENFP: Accurate. Sometimes it feels like adhd 😅
Well there might be a link to be honest! Sometimes I wonder if you can describe many of the personalities in terms of other things. The NFPs are often associated with ADHD.
Sweet thumbnail
Thanks! I used MidJourney to make that actually.
@ClayArnall never heard of it! But I do aspire to create content like you so I must check it out :) thanks
