As an INTP - I say facetiously, since I'm way too analytical to go for this pop psychology astrology nonsense - I have to give props that you accurately depicted the INTP quickly arriving at the correct conclusion that the criticisms from the consultant were really projections of his own shortcomings.

Internally anyhow... If I disagree with the criticism, I'd ask for clarification and vet the individuals capacity to judge me. I have no problem improving, no problem with criticism, but I do want to know the rationale and see that it stands the test.

@@jhemp as an INTJ i'd say i thought about how i would react before continuing watching and it was actually more like the INFJ shown in the video. i wouldn't say "ten times longer" or "meaner" but i'll probably think i would give myself a better, more accurate review

    • @jhemp
      @jhemp Месяц назад

@august919 I mean that's fair. I'm more critical of myself than others because I strive to deliver a bare minimum expectation that most people think is too high a bar to meet apparently. When I approach the bare minimum I can get a bit irritated with myself and be "mean", but generally it involves "panning out" assessing my actions and if they align with my values, determining where to "improve" based on "suggestions" and walking through how the "changes" would look and revising as needed.
In essence, I don't think ten times longer and meaner applies to me necessarily either. Only that I hold myself to a high bar and probably have already criticized what most would suggest and gone to the next step. I'm not so foolish to say others aren't privvy to something I'm not or can't offer good advice that's on par or exceeds my own, but as a generalization, I don't think anyone who put less effort than I have into anything will give me much to work with. I will always start with the assumption that it will and move from there, but again, in general, people don't put the same amount of thought as I do into things, but afterwards I'm happy to revise anything I've gotten wrong.
Edit: Noticed typos. Also, it is clear to me I was tired writing this. Difficult though it may be, I will not rewrite the message. Sometimes raw and unfiltered thoughts carry more meaning than some elegantly crafted message. With that said, have a good day to anyone reading this.

Because knowing that there's an issue is only step one. Being told to just "stop" a recurring issue isn't going to do anything if you don't know why you're doing it in the first place. If you know why, then you can institute changes to stop it.

Critiques are like gold to me and I beg for that kind of info in all things that I do. That way I can take the criticism, analyze it, and adjust accordingly towards perfection. My complete confidence in myself makes it near impossible to hurt my feelings. I literally have to be sick or injured (physically weak) in order for the most harsh of treatment to get a reaction from me, like hurt feelings.

As an ENTJ, I truly appreciate the person who meticulously adds the timing of each character. Your effort gives me a boost of positive energy and is the main reason I pay attention to the comments. Regarding the video, being clear and direct during criticism is highly preferable for us. It allows us to pinpoint problems faster, making it easier to solve them while saving time and effort. The issue of hurt feelings is secondary and usually doesn’t matter much, except in emotional situations.
For example, if someone you love starts by criticizing you for not knowing how to compliment, flirt, or provide emotional support, it might leave a subtle, lasting impact. That said, this rarely happens because we typically develop a system of thinking tailored to such situations, designed to achieve the best outcome.
Personally, I’ve worked on developing my emotional side, but I’ve found that help from INTPs, ISFPs, and ESFJs has been invaluable in certain cases. It’s made me better while still staying true to my nature.
I wrote this comment because I think that others know something about us, this will improve their dealings with us and our dealings with others.

I’m an INTP, but I would have figured out what was happening before going into the room, then the only critique would be that nobody knows what the heck I’m doing the whole time. I would then be disappointed, because that doesn’t tell me anything about what I can improve. If I’m feeling particularly crazy, I’d leave the room, complain about how little was on the page, then start asking coworkers (mainly ENTJ and INTJ) for criticism, constructive if possible.

Fellow INTJ here. In high school - a long time ago - instead of grades, we each had an in-person session with multiple teachers present at one time, and we were asked to provide a self-evaluation of how we did in every class. We were also asked to state our strengths and weaknesses overall just as a person.
I loved it. Everyone agreed with my reflections. Honestly, I don't understand WHY people take things personally so easily and so often.
We're all here to explore the universe. We're all mortal, and we all have a brief time to make the most out of our lives. Make sure your basic needs are met, and provided they are, help others. It's fine and good to express your emotions, but don't let them prevent you from achieving your goals and making the world a better place for all. 💝

I believe in being fully efficient and excellent in all ways possible. Of course if I know there is something I won’t exceed at, I’m not interested. But in life it’s a constant thriving for self improvement and improvement of my skill set. This doesn’t happen without criticism, and I always tell people that I am open and willing and eager to hear what they have to say especially a criticism. My ego doesn’t allow hindrance in the ultimate goal of progress towards perfection.
Imagine a world of people like this? Holy cow! To me that would be the ultimate heaven. No sore buttholes anywhere.

The INTJ crying is accurate. As an INTJ myself, I've been feeling VERY low and deprrssed. I've been bullied at school and have no friends. My Portuguese Teacher, who's often slightly brute but very kind and only wants the best for her students, came to me and I didn't even had to speak with her for a minute to start crying. She broke a record today. Now… I'm jn the bathroom writing this. Still depressed.

As an INTJ, I would definitely love the criticism, coz I'm pretty sure there's nothing new in that list, i must have already knew it by either accepting or destroying it but in front of the management, I'd thank them and put forward my defending statements...later I would just love to erase those criticism as it would help me in my self improvement journey.

Management: “You’re doing a great job; we appreciate the effort you put into the job.”
INFJ: “Thank you; I do my best.”
Also INFJ: _”I wish I could do better at ______. Why would she say such nice things to me? She probably doesn’t think I could handle a real critique.”_

Enfj here and yes, the breakdown is ALWAYS the first step, then comes solution. We’ll get to the solution, but we need to cry a bit first, then we get the list, and show up as everything written on the list, you’ll hate how much you love us once we’ve put EVERYTHING you said into our daily routine.
