This is a beautiful video about my hometown. I just moved back here after living in Atlanta for the last 30 years. I am especially impressed by 3rd Ward. An area south of downtown along the Milwaukee river. I think it is more exciting than the Brady Street area. Also the crime in Milwaukee is not as bad as Chicago, St Louis, Detroit and other Midwest cities. The major draw back is, as you mentioned, the winter months, which can run from October through April/May. I am really impressed with the strides Milwaukee has made in the last 30 years.
