    I enjoyed that ... I remember cars being able to go up and down the length of Mornington, Bettystown, Laytown beaches - But of course, some few goes and ruins it for the many. Now it's banned. Camping at the beach at night is great!
    Over west is more appealing than the east coast! Donegal such a vast place .... ☘

      I agree. The west coast offers a lot more options in this kind of venture. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated.

    Lovely video again. I had been told that any legal signage that prohibited any activity would have "By Order" written on it and the specific by-law in place to allow the authorities to enforce it. That without that specific information, any other signs are just requests, and not enforceable. That would, in essence, have made that sign purely advisory. We have found very often, that if a beach is near camp sites, that signs have been erected that are not legal and are designed by vested interests to frighten people off and to guide them to the camp site.

    • @VISTATREKKER
      @VISTATREKKER  6 месяцев назад

      That’s very interesting and I’ve read of this going on too, again the voice of experience is invaluable.
      One of the signs in the video with all the images of activities crossed out in red has Kerry County Council and reference to the 2013 by laws on top of it. That was what queued me to query it with them.
      There’s great comfort sitting there all setup and knowing you are there legitimately, especially when camping with kids. Don’t want to hear the “Move along get along go shift” song being sung around my tent 😫, not even if Christy sang it.

    Great video mate! Loved the part about how to respect places like this, leave no trace and be sensible with the decisions one takes! If we all acknowledge this, we can all enjoy the freedom that comes along with it! Thanks for sharing!

      Thank you and yes, very much agree. I think that since the overland community is naturally not structured and has no leadership as such there is sometimes no clear message about what is the general consensus on what is sustainable in different areas.
      I think therefore that those of us who enjoy sharing our stories in the form of videos should not miss our own opportunity to spread an understanding of positive habits to allow this activity to grow.
      Long may it continue to grow💪

    Hi Robin. Nice video of your trip to the sea. Yes, there are always plenty of signs to tell us what we aren't allowed to do, more so in this country of ours than others. You found a nice solution to this problem 😂. Great to see your children doing what children do best at the beach, digging holes, and rolling around.
    It was like a throwback in time to see all those cheering teens in the back of a truck.
    Good advice on staying in the wild overnight. Leave it the way you found it.
    All the best for 2024 👍

      Thank you as always for your support Andrew. Appreciate your comments. The lads after winning their match were loving their moment of glory and it was well earned I’m sure. The fact their chariot was a truck was an image I could not help but find a home for. Someone someday will ban that too no doubt.

      Marc thank you for the feedback, always appreciate it. Yukon is the mother load of wild places whose scent and footprints I track and only occasionally snare through a relatively populated and regulated Atlantic island. The stories you could tell I’m sure after years out there….by the way, what a Sir name for an outdoorsman Mr Oleshak, just fills me with the image of intrigue around the bend of a mountain trail or a lazy turn in a river.

      Always respect and appreciate your comment and support thank you. So many treasured freedoms are destroyed by the very people who don’t care about them. Lowest common denominator driven rules are the weak, quick and all too easy response.
      Leadership and encouragement of outdoor persuits by councils and local authorities would garner enough enthusiasm I think to allow sensible codes of conduct to be applied easily. I hope we can move towards that.
      The greenways as an example are very forward looking and should be an inspiration to get everything moving outdoors. If a problem as complex as hundreds of private right of way issues along the greenways are surmountable we should see anything as possible.

    It's those little wins against the ever advancing tide of "do nots" that make the adventure meaningful and prove it's worth doing the research. Sadly, however, much like the UK, the waves of regulations keep coming.

      @VISTATREKKER  6 месяцев назад +2

      Thank you Paul, sincerely appreciate your comments, apart from this being a highly regulated beach and county this bit of research shows that despite losses elsewhere in Kerry it turns out that in this rare case our rights on this beach have improved in the time elapsed between the 2013 bylaws and the 2022 bylaws. I found this encouraging against the wider context of things. Nice to be able to bring a little positivity to the wild camping story.

    Fantastic video. 👍🏻 Thank you. How great could be on the world if everyone will follow simple rule like “take everything what you brought” I’m shocked when I’m seeing everywhere in the forest or on the beaches bin bags full of rubbish 😢

    • @VISTATREKKER
      @VISTATREKKER  3 месяца назад +1

      A local beach near my family’s home enjoys several frequent walkers who fill a bag on their walk and leave it bagged for the council to collect. I hope this is what you witnessed.
      There is then the other end of the human spectrum who take money to remove people’s waste and then pull over at night and dump a van load into a ditch instead of paying to dump it responsibly.
      Humans are available in different grades it seems. Anyway, glad you found the content useful.

    • @jenya5

      Unfortunately I’m speaking about the second spectrum of human. But that’s not only this people who leaving bin bags everywhere. Mostly everywhere you can find plastics bottles,cups,tires etc 😢 That’s reason why we have a gates everywhere. And when you finally find nice place for camping,first thing what you have to do is tidy up around and collect the rubbish 😢. (that’s everywhere in Europe,thank you to app as camp for night etc). I’m not saying that all people are same but is a lot who doesn’t appreciate nature . ☹️

    Fab time-lapse at night! What camera did you use?

    • @VISTATREKKER
      @VISTATREKKER  6 месяцев назад

      Thank you, I got that with the GoPro 11 star lapse function. It’s interesting to see that as the clouds come by and the ships at anchor reflect the light back off the clouds the stars appear to blink as the exposure adjusts. Love the function, much easier than my previous attempts with thousands of photos to handle.

    • @rdcork1
      @rdcork1 6 месяцев назад

      Ahhh I use a GoPro 9 for my RUclips... Does terrible night time-lapse... Must look into that too!

    • @VISTATREKKER
      @VISTATREKKER  6 месяцев назад +1

      You can get a good star lapse on the GoPro 9 but it takes a lot more time on RUclips finding out how 😅 The GoPro 11 function is a way easier but sometimes can be blurry compared to a well set up series of timed exposures on either the 9 or the 11.
