  • In my newest class, Mixed Media Collage and the Layered Botanical, I not only teach you how to make my tinted semi-transparent collage papers, but also how to make botanical figures on them using acrylics, inks and watercolors. We use tissue, rice, teabag (2 kinds) and mulberry papers to get different effects and then layer them over one another to get an interplay of colors and shapes that pull you in, spark your imagination, and calm your senses.
I also teach you how to take these paintings from this intricate and interesting stage into their full potential by using mixed media, color analyzing, and glazes. Learning to return over and over to a painting to see how to take it further is truly deep practice that moves your creativity into new areas that abound with possibilities.
Did you see my introduction to this class at the Collage Makers Summit in March 2024? Well, this is that class x 10. If you love floral collage or botanical paintings, this class is for you!

Marabeth ... I am looking forward to your new class. I have also taken the Collage Summit 2024 where you shared a bit of your process. I am loving this new work you are doing!

This looks great. I see that the collage paintings look quite small. Will you talk about sizing up compositions for larger pieces?

They are small-7x5 or 6x6 usually. As I experiment more, I will scale up and talk about it in a video or two, I’m sure.

I'm very interested in this course . Please tell me if you use only watercolor paints . I only have a few as I am an acrylic artist with tons of acrylic paint supplies . I cannot spend more money on supplies right now . I love your work & enjoying your videos .. Thank you !

We use both in the class but it’s not required-using acrylics exclusively is just fine. In the class, I also use a cheap set my kids used to have, probably about $5 at the grocery store, so that’s an option too, but acrylics are just fine. 😊

REALLY want to do this class but have way too much going on right now. Will it be available later this year on your site?
