    Great work, Phillip!!!! I just finished replacing the entire suspension on my '97, front and rear. All I've got left to do is get 2 new front tires and an alignment. It's way off after doing my steering rack. It drives so much better even though it's in severe need of an alignment. Everything is tight. It's amazing how worn out everything was, especially in the rear. My trailing arm bushings were broken on both sides. The rear damper was also shot so I changed that after the rest of the suspension work, changed the mount, and changed the fluid. I'm also amazed at how smooth it shifts after I changed the transmission fluid. I had to drain it b/c you have take the transfer case down to get the rack out. Now it shifts much smoother. I just did a single fluid change, not a flush. Yes, I used Honda ATF fluid.
    I'm changing the shifter cable. It's not broken yet, but there is a big hole where it bends down to go into the transfer case and pieces are falling out of it. I hate working under the dash...hurts my back to be twisted like that. I also installed a new O2 sensor. The muffler shop that replaced my stolen catalytic converter didn't know how to fix a plug when the new sensor wouldn't go in all the way. It was a small broken piece of plastic that I dug out and the new sensor snapped in fine. I was concerned I'd have to change the plug but when it snapped in and I couldn't pull it back out without releasing it, I decided it was good enough.
    I've also get a power steering issue. After the car warms up to operating temp, there is a small whine in the pump. I ordered a new fluid reservoir, which will be here today or tomorrow, and I'll change that and do a total PS fluid flush. Most of the system is new. I hope that fixes it. If not, I'll be putting in a new power steering pump. I hope not though. I'll have to do another small flush and that fluid isn't so cheap from Honda. I've never used any other fluid but Honda, but somebody else who used to work on my car may have. If they did, it would explain why the whole system failed or is continuing to fail at once. All the seals and O-rings are probably eaten up.
    Good luck on your suspension rebuild! I'm sure it will take you less time than it took me. I'm a DIYer and lacking experience and physical strength.

      It really just depends on what you want to do with it. If you are just street driving, you can leave it off. If you are offroading, I'd recommend reinstalling a driveshaft so that you have AWD

    Hey man great video I have a 2000 CRV and a 99 crv. I want to lift one and lower the other. On the lifts what do you suggest is the biggest tire to go with because I am afraid of rubbing inner fender well and eating tires. I don't know anything about lowering them is there a place I can go that sells lowering springs or anything like that. If you know can yeah direct me in a direction to go in to help with my projects. Hopefully you and the family are doing well man take care

    • @slimsqde7397
      @slimsqde7397 2 года назад +1

      truhart is a good brand, yonoka makes some aswell, so does maxpeeding rods. if you lower it you will need a full camber kit to keep your alignment normal (if not rear tires will have a lot of negative camber and front upper control arms will get stuck up in wheel wells. truhart sells a camber kit, pretty much the only brand i think that makes them

    Did the shock fork go all the way up to the "perch" of the strut? I had a similar issue, turns out the forks/struts between AWD and FWD are a tiny bit different. I had a lift on my FWD 2000 and put it alongside with the OEM FWD strut on my other AWD using the fork that came on each car. My AWD now sits about 1/4-1/2 inch taller than my FWD because the lip on the OEM strut is different than my AWD one was. Weird.

    So commenting as watching, when you get to your k swap. Ur gonna have to modify the eg rack. You will need the imput housing from the crv. The inner and outer tie rod ends. The steering imput shaft will need to be rotated 180 and new lines will be needed to be run. Trust me way easier to do when motor is out. P.s. don't run ur exhaust till modify ur front sway bar mounts.. do too k member differences
