I was reading a write up about the rear diff on the rd1. 08-11 Honda Element AWD you can do a direct swap on the rear diff, bolt on. It’s not lsd but from what I read the person said it awd system grabs a lot quicker and better.
I heard the same thing. They also put in the toyota shafts. Im thinking of doing the same. The thing is, is the shafts are hard to find since not many toys break down or in junk yard. Folks are selling em for about 2k. This is the same for the v coupler and clutch packs. Stuff gets ecpensive for sure.

So if I install the phantom Grip i don’t have to mess around with swapping the drive line? Drive line viscous swapping is only necessary when pinning or adding locking plates only correct?
Im running a 3rd gen crv diff in my 97 would the install process be the same and would I be ok running the stock drive line without pinning the clutches? With just the lsd installed?
Soo i have a heavy subwoofer in the back of my crv and because of that i have a lot of wheelspin at the front tires, any suggestions? Im kinda new to the awd system world. Thanks alreadyyy
You could pin the rear diff and install a viscous coupler. Then the rear would actually spin when you press the gas rather than wait for the front to spin then engage
Hey buddy, some great content you got here. I was wondering if that phantom grip part works also withe the automatic transmission of the RD1 CRV. If yes, is it ok to use it without the landrover viscous drive shaft? And lastly, which model exactly must i get the drive shaft from
It served me well, but I swapped the whole diff about 3 months ago in favor of one with clutch locking plates rather than the pinned clutches. Just trying to smooth out some of the harmonics.
Not worth the effort. If you wanna be ghetto just weld it. These cheap soft aluminum ripoffs just clog your diff with shavings in no time. Literally worse than doing nothing. But hopefully you will let that part be know in a couple months. RIP rear diff.

It does for sure. The clutch design is much better. I'm going to be pinning the clutches on this one and running a freelander viscous coupler
Any 08-11 honda with awd works. The element might be the most expensive one, i'd use the crv one. Cheaper and easier to find. Yes, they bolt right up.

The CRV table sure came in useful 😆
Oh yeah, I have several that I use daily in my shop
So what’s the outcome? Is it holding up?
Im wondering same thing 👀
Any updates?
Nice one, looking forward to the results. Those rear axels are going to eat shit 😂👌
I was going to test one in my channel, cant wait to see the results.
Hopefully I'll be able to report some good info after I get a chance to test it
@@hondaresource do you have a link to the one you bought? it would be fun to both run tests.
How are the testing results going?
Do they make any product like this for the honda element.
It's the same thing
Did you have a part number for the part you fitted to the diff? I can’t seem to find it for the rear diff. Thanks
I'll try to get it. I know it was the same part as the front diff.
Could one of these be put in the front too?
Dang any link to the gen 3 crv ?

Correct

i wonder if this kit fits FIT's rear differential

Front and rear are same

Will this phantom grip thing work with an automatic?
Yeah

The Honda Resource, Hello, what kind of wheels do you have?
Currently have rota grid, not sure what the wheels were in this video
@@hondaresource ,Thanks for your answer! What are the maximum wheels put on the crv?
Do you recommend do his without pinning clutches? Thanks
It'll work
how did this type of LSD work out? i have one sitting on my shelf, wondering if i should install it...
So far so good, I can definitely tell a difference on the trails
Hey what’s up bro love the videos I was just wondering I have a 98 crv and was curious what are some symptoms my car would have with bad rear axles ?
Is this working good with the oem shaft? Or you need to change it?
I never used it with the oem shaft but it should work fine.

Are you asking if it'll work in an auto rear diff?
Did you still pin the clutches after doing this ?
The clutches are pinned.
Is there a reason they’re 7x more expensive now?

How long is "no time"? 1K, 10K 100K? I don't think this CRV will be commuting an hour each way to work.
My question is the vibration
What vibration?
I take it your not getting any from the lsd block
I haven't driven out of the yard to be honest.
