Resistance Bands Back Exercise: Straight Arm Pushdowns (for the lats)

    Here's a great resistance bands back isolation exercise for your lats. This is how to perform a straight arm push down with bands which is exactly the same as how you would perform them on a cable machine.
    1. We're going to anchor the resistance band up high
    2. Bend forward just a little bit, but keeping your back straight. I don't want you to round your back. Chin up. Back straight.
    3. Grab the band high enough where you have some tension right at the very top.
    4. Pull that band all the way down to our sides. Bring those hands straight back. You want to feel your hands, touch the side of your hip. That's when you know you're getting that full squeeze.
    5. Repeat for desired reps (for example: 3 sets of 10 reps)
    PRO TIP: This is NOT like a triceps push down, so I don't want to see you getting your elbows into it. Don't use your triceps. Keep your arms nice and straight. And think about pushing straight down and back. And that's going to really squeeze those lat.
    You'll definitely feel these, especially if you do this at the end of your workout. So that is your straight arm push down using resistance bands, to help build a wider back (lats).
