    Hook is at a disadvantage all day against Villains that do not have to "find" something in their fate or regular deck. When playing against QOH you have to almost fate every turn in order to remotely stand a chance especially when using a little bit more of a convoluted villain. Great work though, it is tough to beat the QOH.

    I think you misplayed your first fate against the queen. As Hook, you benefit from being fated, so blocking her activate is the correct play in that situation. Intended as a helpful friendly comment, not a harsh critique. :)

    I like your play throughs - and you're fun to watch. There is no "choice" in the shrinking hero option. You rotate the card 45 degrees as shown in the Villain Guide to cover the symbol on the right. However, the enlarge a hero comes with a "choice" as clearly articulated in the Villain Guide.

    • @hobbiesnhappiness

      Appreciate it! Actually, in looking more into it, Queen of Hearts can choose which action to cover when shrinking heroes within her realm. I don't believe anywhere in the villain guide states that it must be rotated 45 degrees clockwise, thereby covering up the action symbol on the right. See the BGG thread:

      @@hobbiesnhappiness I looked at your link. The author of that article wrote the "Queen can choose", but I'm not sure where that came from. The author provided a wiki link but that page doesn't explicitly say that the Queen can choose; so I'm not sure why the author of that article stated that as an official rule. I can't seem to find a photo of the Queen's Villain Guide - but I assure you, on page 4 of that guide under the heading "Shrinking Heroes" it clearly demonstrates how the card is to be played. Again, if a choice was an option, it would have used the word like it was for "Enlarging Heroes". I know you have the Villain Guide to refer to as it is sitting in front of Jim in the video.

      I will check in the actual guide later, but I believe I know to what you're referring. I think what you're referring to is a photo of them "demonstrating" how to "shrink" a hero, then they show in the picture the hero card rotated clockwise. That is not the same thing as stating, "whenever a hero is shrunk, it must be done in the way shown above." I also couldn't find a photo of the QoH villain guide for quick reference either. I will check back in later to this thread.

      Also, check this BGG thread. The second to last post from the bottom by Ruby & Karla. I believe they are game designers of Villainous.

    When you make a hero smaller you choose one of the two actions and can’t change it after that turn

    When I'm playing with the queen of hearts the opponent who fated gets to choose for enlarging which to cover up and the player to choose which to reveal when shrinking

    • @hobbiesnhappiness
      @hobbiesnhappiness  2 года назад +1

      Correct, the player who is making the fate action gets to choose which action the hero will cover up, and the QoH player gets to choose which action to reveal when they "Shrink" a hero. We may have missed that in this video. 😬

    Captain Hook wins he could most likely shoot most of the Queens card soldiers to shreds with his pistol along his crew

  • @irrelevantirrelevant7332
    @irrelevantirrelevant7332 2 года назад +1

    Also, Red Queen is extremely strong and has the highest winrate in competitive. Buffing her by allowing her to choose which action is not blocked by "make you smaller" seems contraproductive.

    • @hobbiesnhappiness
      @hobbiesnhappiness  2 года назад

      Oh yes we know how strong Queen of Hearts can be 😂 As far as the card "Makes You Smaller," the card is controlled by the Queen of Hearts player, so the QoH player gets to choose which action is uncovered, not her opponents. It wouldn't be considered a "buff" as that is how the card is designed to be played and used. If you only every played the card by letting the opponents choose, then I can see how it would thought of that way.

    I would maybe drop the "dice" transition, and just use quick cuts. It's too much white. It's jarring and makes it less enjoyable to watch. If kept, atleast minimize the time that it is on screen. Just my opinion.
