Fantastic demo. Great work Amanda, as well as Steven and Robert being superb players. Loooove the Lord of the rings LCG so this looks like Saga meets Lovecraft. The filming for this segment is awesome as well, with a heavy focus on the players rather than just focusing on the cards.
This game looks amazing. It was on my radar before, now it's on my must have list. Thanks for the demo video. I agree with the others who said the demonstrator was great. You can tell she took prep time before the con. A sign of a great demo person.
Wow guys, thanks a lot. I can imagine cranking these videos out is quite a lot of effort, and this is one I'm really excited about. My wife and I are into LotR LCG and this looks right up our alley as Lovecraft fans as well. Thanks again!
Thanks guys for putting this video out! Game looks awesome. I only recently started playing LOTR LCG (maybe a year ago, took a 6 month break for AGOT 2nd Ed) but recently started getting back into it. Really looking forward to this now.
At 48:33 when Robert redraws with Wendy's ability that was 'once per check' wasn't he supposed to discard another card from his hand to use that ability? Or is it one card for multiple uses on his turn? He used it to redraw when he was attacking with the bat and discarded a card, and then used it again when sneaking on the same turn.
I think I like this game more than the LoTR LCG. I really like the flavor text on the cards and how well the theme blends with the mechanics. It feels very intense and it is good to have that on a co-op game. But the part I think I love more than anything else is that it comes with a campaign option where mistakes and rewards carry on to the next scenarios. From what I have seen so far, I am pretty sure I will get it as soon as it is released. Any idea when this is coming out?
I was stoked as soon as I saw the FFG announcement, now, seeing the game. GIMME! Looks fantastic and getting in at the ground floor for a coop game like this is great. Thanks for the awesome video TC, you guys should be getting paid by FFG for these great preview works!
game is frackin GREAT!, it takes lord of the rings, and cuts down on the convolution and makes the game more theme oriented and streamlined. Your decisions feel like they have more weight because you arent doing a Math problem every turn for every single person involved mid game when u have like 20 cards on the board that have flipped from the encounter deck. Also i like how it limits you to only being able to carry a small amount of things on your person, like an RPG style videogame. The games deckbuilding feels better and more streamlined as well. The way the game scales works way better as well. its just simple straightforward making sense math. Loving this game soo much. I feel its the best cooperative game out there soo far! :). Thanks guys for letting me get hype about this game from this gencon video release, up until i got the game in my own hands :).
Question: The flight crew says at 22:00 that the players must discard the clue tokens they accumulated during act 1, I can't see anything in the rules that says you must. In the LTP Page 10 under "Advancing the act deck" it reads "When advancing the act deck, any clues the investigators have gained (but are not spending) remain in their play area. "
Greatest decision ever! We are planning to add Arkham to our subscription service in the near future, so be sure to keep an eye out! teamcovenant.com/covenant-subscriptions
Might be that they are going to add additional tokens later on via deluxe expansions or maybe you will be allowed to enhance the token pool during a game by throwing in some of your investigator specific tokens?
I guess we could make our custom ones. I thought caos tokens were going to be removed after use, but they go right back in. A dice would have been so much better.
I agree, this allows room for customization, flexibility, and varying difficulty levels (I think she said different tokens might be added/removed depending on the difficulty setting for your game?)
I'm mostly worried about the constant use damaging them and making the random aspect less random. I get the customization options, but I think a simple card explaining what each simbol would do according to the chosen difficult level could have achieved that. I don't think they will add new tokens on DE, as that would end up increasing expansions production costs. The only way tokens would be better than dice for me is if their number will be altered somehow by the scenarios. If not, I might just go ahead and customize me some dices.
I really wish that they would have build in a vs. mode to this cooperative game. As in a means for a person to play as the environment, directing the encounter.
Great video. The lady running the demo was a great host. I am buying this game as soon as it comes out. But I would also like to learn more about the rules. Especially the 5 classes. What cards you can and can not add to your starting deck? And you do you need 3 core sets like other lcgs to have the maximum amount of copies you can use for each card? Core set comes with 1 of the card but there can be 3 in your deck for example.
Great video but I have a question which I'm a little bit confused with regarding the free actions, what is the limit of using the cards in your hand? I understand the assets, commit and event cards but does it cost an action for each card you use from your hand?
I don't want to sound like a know it all, but you all could get more depth of field on the SLR cameras to aid in focusing by setting the F-stop to something like F-8 or F-11 or higher. This is definitely helpful when zooming in. Other than the these are prob the best Demo videos at gen con I've seen.
Actually you need enaugh light to make that possible. Otherwise the picture will be way too dark. Shutter Speed is fixed, so only possible thing to do is you can put up the iso but that will decrease image quality and introduce grain at a given point. Small depth of field is why someone would use a dslr. Only way around this is more light or a smaller sensor.
I am a first time buyer and player of your awesome game Arkham Horror The Card Game and have just purchased the complete Dunwich Legacy Cycle (Deluxe box with the 6 Mythos packs). Unfortunately, after that there are no cycles available to buy. Could you please answer a couple questions: 1) Do Fantasy Flight games still print the earlier cycles as I was wanting to buy "The Path To Carosa" cycle next? 2)Do the cycles have to be played in the correct order? E.g. I start with Dunwich Legacy Cycle but after that the only cycle available to buy in Australia is "The Dream-Easters Cycle". Can that be played next? 3) Is there any way of purchasing the older cycles if I live in Australia? Can the cycles be bought from Fantasy Flight games or another website and posted to Australia?
Hard to say! Mansions is a big, app-driven board game that creates a more "tactile" feel during play - you have miniatures and very beautifully displayed rooms and locations - and it generally takes a lot longer. Arkham is more fluid, faster, and will be constantly adding new material each month. So I guess the answer is both :)
You don't know how many comments I got on this. "Hey Marty, do you know you're in the AH:LCG video?" sigh...yes. Sorry my contribution couldn't have been more worthwhile :-P
Is this one of the fantasy flight games where you have to lose a lot? It's a pet peeve of mine that because it's a lovecraftian universe some genius over there decided games no longer needed to be won. As if you couldn't have insane and dead investigators, and still win the game somehow. Hopefully they've learned that survival isn't the only or most important goal in a Lovecraft.
Props to the teacher! She was patient and very professional.
The demonstrator for this game was very, very good.
Cool video, I am not a fan of co-ops or Lovecraft but even I want to play it after watching this.
She was incredible.
Good job Amanda :)
yep, she's earned you like :P
best show of the game...the instructor was perfect!
kudos to the lady running the game, very entertaining and informative. this looks an exciting game
Amanda did great job explaining the game. Lovely Lady.
Fantastic demo.
Love the enthusiasm from both Steven and Robert.
Great job by the Flight Crew person!
The art on these cards is absolutely amazing! Cannot wait to add this to the collection
The card back designs are sick!
The parade of awkward people behind them is mesmerizing.
beardofbees1 Lol its a parade of Dahmers man...😝
Fantastic Demo and wonderful work Amanda!
38:14 A rabbit, and a cat, AND a bat? Did she drive up in a '64 Impala?
Looks good. Insta buy for me . The lady running the demo is really good.
Immense. Thank you for getting this up. Looks so much fun!
I too enjoy Lovecraft's lord of the rings mythos.
I was desperately searching for info on that game :)
Thanks for the video, it was great!
Thank you for watching Raphael!
This. This looks absolutely incredible! I can not wait for this to come out.
Can't wait to see the non-euclidean tokens that you guys dream up (beneath the sea).
looks great!
This game looks amazing. It was on my radar before, now it's on my must have list. Thanks for the demo video. I agree with the others who said the demonstrator was great. You can tell she took prep time before the con. A sign of a great demo person.
Yeah, Amanda was incredible!

Thank you for watching James! Glad that we could make it happen!
46:30 Feeding a cat to a ghoul? Lovecraft is rolling over in his grave right now!
Don't try that stuff in Ulthar.
Also cheese if I'm not mistaken.
Ok, house rule: Feeding a cat to anything = instant loss!
godofzombi Alternative suggestion: "When you feed a cat to anything, you have to face a boss enemy called _Army of cats_."
"The Cats of Ulthar" you mean
Thanks for uploading the demo so quickly! Makes me less sad to miss GenCon :)
Love the lady @ 28:57! She is fascinated by Robert.
Can't wait for more demo's. Ya'lls are the best. Particularly can't wait for Seafall!
LOTR LCG meets SW:CCG with Lovecraft theme? Count me in
Looks way cool. I love the traveling mechanic. I love lotr but these locations are so much better mechanically. I'm getting this asap!
Thanks guys for putting this video out! Game looks awesome. I only recently started playing LOTR LCG (maybe a year ago, took a 6 month break for AGOT 2nd Ed) but recently started getting back into it. Really looking forward to this now.

Looks like a card should have been discarded!
Ok, thank you! Really anticipating this one. Thanks for the video. I expect I'll be joining your subscription service.
10:31 "I don't want these monsters engaging my threat area." The number of times I've heard that...
The struggle!

looking like an insta-buy :). Listed on CSI's pre-order page is 4th quarter release.
I was stoked as soon as I saw the FFG announcement, now, seeing the game. GIMME! Looks fantastic and getting in at the ground floor for a coop game like this is great. Thanks for the awesome video TC, you guys should be getting paid by FFG for these great preview works!
Haha, thank you for watching Gene!

Everything here is spot on, Josiah! Glad you're onboard!
Looks great, great job guys and Amanda!
She was the star!
It's back! Arkham LCG is back!! AND IT'S A COOPERATIVE LCG!!! My wish came true.
Come on release date...
I like how Robert was trying to avoid being horrified by rotting remains and Steven was like "Hey! Here's some guts, too!"

In the LTP Page 10 under "Advancing the act deck" it reads "When advancing the act deck, any clues the investigators have gained (but are not spending) remain in their play area. "
Per Franck They had the exact number of clues needed to advance. If they had more, they would keep the difference.
Thank you for doing this! Cannot wait to get this in my gaming group.
Garbanzo beans! This game is hot cakes! Looks bananas!
Isn't it X-Wing 2016 Worlds Runner Up Kevin Leintz at 6:39?
Yep, that's Kevin!
Wonder if FFG will offer the play mat to the public?
Looks so cool.
I want that playmat.
No one is talking about the playmat. I want one.
this looks really interesting. it reminds me of the LOTR LCG (which is a good thing).
Looks amazing. Not totally clear on rules yet, but so hyped.
48:00 - Shouldn't he discard a card to use his characters special "Re-draw the fate token"-ability?
the fedora at 12:00 = 10/10
Intentional Skee-lo reference at 38:20? XD
So good!
Great vid guys - and yes I agree, the demonstrator was ace.
I'm so flipping excited! I NEED this game!
Also, did she explain if the bag was gonna come in the game? Or is it gonna be something you have to provide?
Not certain about the bag! Gut says it is likely included.
just pre-ordered this as my FIRST LCG. Good decision or bad, I don't care! Can't wait to receive this!
Greatest decision ever! We are planning to add Arkham to our subscription service in the near future, so be sure to keep an eye out! teamcovenant.com/covenant-subscriptions
Same here! AH:LCG will be my 1st LCG! and probably will sub with you Covenant guys :p
Flight crew, I like that :)
Thanks for bringing us this video :)
Thank you for watching!
Definitely, looking forward to this one! :D
Why not put dices instead of this token bag ? Nice video :)
Might be that they are going to add additional tokens later on via deluxe expansions or maybe you will be allowed to enhance the token pool during a game by throwing in some of your investigator specific tokens?
It's probably done like this becuase of the feeling of drawing tiles from a bag is very different from rolling dice or flipping a random card. ^^

The max number of any card in your deck is 2, so you only need 2 core sets.
I've watched this video too many times...I need this game to come out soon!
Us too!
Obligatory "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY"!
So excited for this
this would be great to play this fall season with my wife.
I noticed a nice playmat on the table for this game. Is that going to be available for sale as well in the future? It realy makes the game complete.
We do not know, but likely!
Is that playmat available for purchase? Tnx
This lady was such a great demo teacher.
She’s one of the best we’ve ever seen!
Great video but I have a question which I'm a little bit confused with regarding the free actions, what is the limit of using the cards in your hand? I understand the assets, commit and event cards but does it cost an action for each card you use from your hand?

I'm so pumped for this game. Hope it wouldn't last long for this to come to Germany! Pretty pleaaaaaase
I am a first time buyer and player of your awesome game Arkham Horror The Card Game and have just purchased the complete Dunwich Legacy Cycle (Deluxe box with the 6 Mythos packs). Unfortunately, after that there are no cycles available to buy.

Are there going to be more videos in this series?
Assuming you have seen all three parts (What Is, How to Play, How to Buy), there might be an additional video or two later down the road!
i just want to hibernate until the day this is released.. is it possible to hibernate in the summer? see you in a few months.. zzz
I agree. I am looking forward to this one! southpark.cc.com/clips/dxitu0/cartman-cant-wait-3-weeks
Are there any plans to make some upgraded token for this game?
We're always looking at those opportunities!
this sounds awesome!
Looks cool!
More!!!
Pro tip: "Read the cards."
That looks great but should have been a san loss for the cat.
So great, thank you guys. I'm trying to decide between this an Mansions of Madness 2e, any thoughts?
Hard to say! Mansions is a big, app-driven board game that creates a more "tactile" feel during play - you have miniatures and very beautifully displayed rooms and locations - and it generally takes a lot longer. Arkham is more fluid, faster, and will be constantly adding new material each month.
So I guess the answer is both :)
We just put up a demo of Mansions of Madness, hopefully that helps!
What do you guys use for a mic?
We have some Audio Technica lavs. Killer.
I feel a powerful need.
Was that a Marty Cameo?
Sigh...yes. I just finished the demo, wanted to come back and get some more info. I didn't realize they were recording. Sorry guys :-( -Marty
You do you, Marty! Not a problem at all :D
You don't know how many comments I got on this. "Hey Marty, do you know you're in the AH:LCG video?" sigh...yes. Sorry my contribution couldn't have been more worthwhile :-P

The guy in the back at 40:00 is super creepy
Ok which one this or Call of Cthulu LCG or Elder Sign ?
Elder Sign is not great imo
Feeding the cat to the ghoul...I'm in....
Right off the bat, the mic does not match the camera location. This is in stereo from the perspective of the guy on the left.
They missed the second card from the enemy deck on the second turn
Whoop Whoop!
They should have asked her if the bag is included in the game :-D
x- files the card game! Yes!
great video guys. This one looks a dead cert.
Sound quality lacks
Damn this looks great. Autobuy.
Fedora the explorer appearance @ 12:00
I wish they'd aimed the camera at the people instead of the board.
Abdullah
6:33 You guy are not the smart one.
Words... pffft... they mean things.
The girl in the back at around 34m looks realy bored out of her mind!
