22:25 The blue star is not guaranteed success. You refer to your ability on your character card, resolve accordingly, then check for success as you normally would.
Hi Rahdo = I really enjoy your new "Klingon" closed captions. I watch your videos on my TV using the RUclips app through my Tivo DVR. It's great seeing the corrections come up on the screen as your playing. :-)
I'm confused by what happened with Crypt Chill. Couldn't you have boosted the Skill check with a card or cards from your hand? Couldn't the other character have possibly assisted you with a card as well?
I know this is old, but in case anyone is wondering. He definitely could have committed skill cards to the encounter skill test. The other investigator could not have though as she's not at the same location.
Very nice chicken mug!! Also, how can it be surprising Daisy is better at investigating? She sure has a greater sense of smell than most humans. ;) (I find it interesting those two characters are reminiscent of Jen and Richard. Somewhat.)
Thank you so much for answering me. I was a bit confused but I believe it was my own question. Does it mean that for a 4-player game I should have 2 copies of the base game? For example, in total 3 boxes? (1 box + 2 boxes copies)? I saw that the game currently has "2 big expansions", The Dunwich Legacy and "The Path to Carcosa" and about "8 small expansions" (scenarios and etc). In your opinion for a 4-player game I should have how many total boxes of each? I bought only 1 "Curse of the Rougarou - Scenario Pack", should I buy one more?
My wife and I totally ignore the initial deck building and just use the suggested starter decks. And level them up from there. Feels more challenging when you don't optimize from the start.
I've got a problem in the first scenario(the gathering). During the barrier phase, we need 6 clues to advance but there's only 4 clues with the revealing of the 2 rooms we can go. We are a bit confused, my roomate and I.
Hi there, one quick question.. I have one set of Arkham horror the card game and my girlfriend offered me the deluxe expansion (the path to carcosa) and the 1st and 2nd mythos packs from that expansion.. we haven't finished the core set campaign yet, should I play the campaign from the core set with any asset, skill or character from the expansion or its recommended to play each set only with the cards that came with it? Thank you very much..
i have no idea as i've only played the base. you're probably better off asking for advice form expert fans of the game in this forum: boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/205637/arkham-horror-card-game/forums/0 :)
Can you use two characters that have the same secondary card set but primary sets that are different from the other characters primary and secondary sets?
rahdo oh interesting, you sound more excited about this in the final thoughts though haha, which one would you say takes more time to play in a sitting?
In the mean time I got the game thanks to your show. However we had trouble understanding the encounter deck assembly. Which you briefly but essentially covered on 2:07. So of course not your fault, but: Learn to Play steps 9 and 17 are terrible. Convoluted, very bad rulebook. We had no idea what the encounter deck assembly should be. All the cards? Only the gathering icon ones? All cards except the gathering ones? Be sure to check the errata and FAQ for all the misprints on fantasyfilthgames.com!
Haha. I've been waiting for him to strap a go pro to his head for a true immersive experience. lol. I like the first person cam but I think it gives some people motion sickness.
22:13 Wow....I *would* call 'Cheater Cheater, Pumpkin-Eater', but, since this wasn't an Official scenario, I'll just give you the Thumbs-down for poor gamesmanship.
14:26 The Lead Investigator does not always go first. The players can resolve the action phase in any order.
noted... thanks

blue star = elder sign

excellent... i'm looking into getting those added to all older videos as well. c'mon youtube API, don't let me down!
At the beginning, Roland should have mulliganed his hand. He might have found a weapon.
good point... i probably should have done that!

hi there, sorry to say it's been so long since i filmed this, or even played the game, i can't remember the specifics. :(
I know this is old, but in case anyone is wondering. He definitely could have committed skill cards to the encounter skill test. The other investigator could not have though as she's not at the same location.
Just saw the video! Excellent explanation by the way. I'm curious of where you found the fan made adventures we can download and print??
there's a bunch of them in the game's file section on boardgamegeek
Awesome thank you..
Very nice chicken mug!!

How many copies of the base game should I have to play with 4 people? What about expansions? Should all expansions have extra copies?
2, 1, no :)
Thank you so much for answering me.

well, if you're buying a bunch of expansion content, you really only need one copy of the main game plus one copy of expansions :)
My wife and I totally ignore the initial deck building and just use the suggested starter decks. And level them up from there. Feels more challenging when you don't optimize from the start.
Jesse Haulk I love this idea as the main draw of the game for me is the play experience and not agonizing over the initial build.
That's how we play too! It's great so far.
Where do you print this from and at what dimensions do you print the cards to?
boardgamegeek.com/thread/1698105/collector-fan-made-core-set-scenario-print-and-pla :)
What do you use to add that little part to the video? VirtualDub?
BTW, Fantasy Flight always delivers. Love their games.
do you mean the 'klingon intro'? i was just using the youtube editor
Oh, i did not thought it would work as smooth.
Thanks!
The Klingon Channel is so funny. Love it.

hmm, sounds like you're doing something wrong... maybe post on boardgamegeek and you'll doubtless get good advice
rahdo I was, found I was doing wrong, dunno why I misunderstood some rules. Thanks for taking the time to answer! :)

sorry i don't have the game any more so i can't check. but you could ask on boardgamegeek.com and plenty of folks would be able to help out
Do you also have the other Arkham Horror? not the card game. i hope you could do a play through of that. I'm really struggling to understand it
You might have mentioned and I just missed it, but can this scenario be played when owning only the base game?
yup :)
Isn't buying the first big expansion enough to cover mixing and matching any characters?
i believe that's correct
OK thanks a lot for the information ^^ I'm really considering suggesting this to my girlfriend for christmas and this just seconded my thoughts !
Oh, It's vintage week at Rahdo's ;)
hey rahdo, you like this better than Lord of the Rings LCG right?
i prefer lotr in part because of theme, but also less event randomness
rahdo oh interesting, you sound more excited about this in the final thoughts though haha, which one would you say takes more time to play in a sitting?
they're comparable. i'd say maybe lotr, but they're probably pretty close
that's the most creative solution to story games ever! Wow.
7:00 that's just lame. I'm sure those cards can be printed for free?
nope, afaik the only way to do that combination of characters is a 2nd set
@@rahdo yep they can be downloaded on bgg.
@@kosterix123 oh cool!

Thanks Rahdo!
Playing a card takes an action. So Daisy got four actions in the first round instead of three.
Not if the card has the Fast keyword. Like Magnifying Glass has.
chicken cup of doom 🤣
Richard, your voice sounds a little different, are you sick? Or am I just going crazy?
i actually filmed this almost a month ago, back when i was deathly ill with a killer cold. much better now, though i'm still coughing a fair bit
Find a way to mount the camera overhead and stop moving it around.
you might want to check the show notes...
rahdo Thanks! My bad. Great content, motion was making me sick. 👍🏼

First!!!!
Same!
Same
AnnieGotSwag Same. I love this new rule. I simply reply to every actual first post with "same" .... and then I too am first. Makes perfect sense. 😳
chuckm1961 Same is the name of the game!
I don't know about Likme MC, but i replied with "same" while being sarcastic :)
