@@RedZoneRogue Ohh I didn't see those from where I ordered from, but that does look interesting. Will definitely keep those in mind for possibly expanding my game set a bit in the future. Seems nice that it's cheaper to get more than just two players to play with one core set as well. Sounds good about the videos about the decks too, I'm probably gonna wait until I've played a game or two on my own (my game is currently in transit as well) before I check them out but I've subscribed so hopefully I'll be notified :)
@@Lynixai Yeah I think it's good to just play with the core set to get a good baseline for the game. :) I still don't have the decks yet so expect the video in the next couple weeks!
Very nice guide. Perfectly laid out on what to get first and where to go. Thank you! Though I'm surprised you did not touch at all on the multitude of player mats out there. I've seen so many but can't seem to find one that matches up with the core game. I suppose I can figure it out, now that I know that a lot of what I'm seeing is for expansion packs. And this made me laugh, you kept saying "improve your quality of life" for the extras. Not sure I'd go that far, but they would certainly improve my quality of gameplay. :) Thanks again.
Thank you for the comment! I didn't cover player mats because I couldn't get my hands on a good big one for Arkham! I definitely want to get one soon though! Also "quality of life" is a common phrase used in video games (mostly MMOs) to basically mean more pleasant to use or easier to use - I used to play lots of Warcraft XD
I agree 1000%! The cost can be greatly mitigated (like mentioned in the vid) if you just get a single Core Set and go from there. The Investigator Starter Decks launching later this year will also help jump-start new players
Cheers! Yeah my partner and I still play every now and then - we're working through the Innsmouth expansion. Videos for Arkham are a bit tricky but I'd like to do another solo gameplay video soon!

Since some of the mythos packs are hard to find at least here in Finland is it possible to play them out of order or skip some of them? For example is Miskatonic museum required to play The Essex county express?
Great question! So basically....it probably wouldn't work. The reason why it wouldn't work is because some of the later Mythos Packs require you to use cards from previous packs in the same cycle. Some of them would work for sure - but some wont - so it'll be kind of a gamble. You can always try and see how it goes with the missing cards I suppose

@@thebeanz7838 Dunwich Legacy is a great campaign! Just know that it can be difficult to find all of the mythos packs for it right now (they can all be kinda difficult I guess haha)
Yes and No - the Core Set has a complete 3 part story. Each major expansion box has only the first 2 parts of a larger 8 part story (2 in the box, 6 as mythos packs). You'll need every Mythos pack to experience the complete story for an expansion.

Hm, honestly it's up to you! I probably wouldn't and either just look up the errata revisions or just play them as-is....especially if you are playing solo - you can really play by your own rules! XD
@@RedZoneRogue thanks for the quick reply - have subscribed to your stuff - it really was a great video , just ordered 20 coin holders from the company you recommend
The typical campaign uses less than 20 chaos tokens, so if you're on a budget you can get away with only using 20. :) With Innsmouth there's actually A TON more though with the addition of the curse/bless mechanics
Nice video! I’ve been meaning to play Arkham Horror for a few years now but never got around to it. This is super helpful for anyone looking to get started. Have you tried any of the Return upgrade scenarios? I was curious if they would be easier to get into than the full expansion cycles.
I'm very glad the video was useful! Since publishing this video we've gone to finish Dunwich, several standalones and we're nearly done with our first run of The Circle Undone (we'll be playing Dream Eaters next :D). I *did* buy Return to Dunwich (mostly for storage) - we haven't played through the new cards yet but I think it's likely best to play the original before trying the Return to upgrade scenarios (especially since you'll still need the original expansion and mythos packs anyway). Buying a Core box + the Return to the Night of Zealot could be an easy way to get several campaigns in without having to buy a full expansion - though you will be sorta limited on player cards and deckbuilding options.
@@PixelCodex its because the core set, unlike every other product, only has 1 of each class player card (decks can have a max of 2) so to be truly optimal in deck building some folks suggest 2 core sets. I don't think its required. Personally I'd rather buy expansions and mythos packs to get new content AND new player cards - plus the new starter decks planned later this year might have those core set player cards anyway.
So, I picked up Dunwich and all the mythos. If playing through each sequentially, I have to keep the Investigator cards from each pack out of my deck until I start that scenario? Working on sleeping and wondering if I have to keep the cards separate until they are “unlocked.” Thanks!
I don't know if you covered this in the video but when you buy the corset do you take the same deck that you built for that scenario and use it for any of the expansions? Or do you build a whole new deck with a card in the expansion
You build new decks every time you start a new campaign - then upgrate the decks with xp you get during the campaign. You can use any card that you own as long as you have enough xp to put it in your deck (you start with 0 xp when you first build your deck)
Should I get investigator deck or another basic game before I jump into a cycle ? I’ve heard if u only have the basic game is not smart to jump into a cycle
Hm...Investigator decks would certainly help! Just by virtue of jumping into a new cycle (Dunwhich Legacy for example) you will get the cards that come in the box set as well as new cards every new Mythos pack. I'd recommend just buying the whole cycle all at once so you have a bunch of investigator cards to work with as well as the full cycle to play through.
@@RedZoneRogue yes I’m thinking of buying the whole cycle of Dunwich, just a friend of mine kept saying I must get few investigator deck or another core game before it, but it’s not very intriguing for me to buy these first
Not really, all of the different investigators, scenarios and deck builds make each time feel really fresh. You can definitely build your decks to play very differently from one another
Do you have any Links to buy the game Or refferences. Maybe cheaply? It cost Double for the Core Set From amazon Shipped to Asia. Meaning The cost for The Core Set is 20.0USD. And the Shippind Fee is 33.33USD its really annoying lol Making the total For 1 Product 53.33USD product and shipping costs combined
I don't know about shipping but I saw Walmart (I know right? lol) have the game on sale for like $23 USD on their website. That might be worth a shot if they shipping is lower?
Hm. The first 17 minutes talk about the core set, expansions, mythos packs and standalone schenarios - only then do I move on to other ways to enhance your experience. After I talk about the extra stuff I explicitly say its all extra and reiterate my initial suggestions a couple times.
Here are a couple quick timestamps in case you didn't want to watch it all again. 21:34 for suggestion summary and 26:42 for overall summary - if you wanted tips on exactly what expansions to buy after you've already gotten the core set...the general Arkham Horror LCG consensus that I've gathered across the community is: just buy whatever you think looks coolest or most fun. Most folks say they like The Path to Carcosa or The Dunwich Legacy the most. I hope that helps!

Not really, all of the different investigators, scenarios and deck builds make each time feel really fresh. You can definitely build your decks to play very differently from one another
How about gameplay videos
It's something I've def thought about! I might try to record a shorter one and see how it goes...
Can all these be played solo?
Yep it can! I even have a video on the channel playing through the first scenario solo :)
@@RedZoneRogue thanks, I'll check
are your cards laminated?
They're in trading card sleeves! Ultra Pro to be specific
The best cooperative card game in the market.
Agreed 100% - it's also one of the best single player card games too!
@@RedZoneRogue yes but not all investigators are great solo unfortunately.
@@Muhd_Akmal I suppose you can play with two investigators solo, but it does sound like a bit of a hassle.
kewl
It is all interesting but the title is misleading. This is a video about game component luxury accessories and barely how to get started.
