Btw, I've found that it is easiest to play the fast chord transition G -> E7 (22:40), when you replace the fingers for G like this: C string -middle finger, E string -pinky, and A string -ring finger. And when you get to E7 you put down your index finger and lift your pinky. Hope, that helps :D

I need to eat humble pie. With more apologies than there is in the world. A couple of years ago I was very rude to you, online, Cynthia. Sorry!
I could use illness as my excuse, but I’m not going to use an excuse. It was inexcusable. To make up to you, a bit, I think you are incredible as a musician, as a teacher and as an arranger. I am now your number one fan and I am, after watching your tutorials, going to become a Patreon.
Please, if you remember my caustic comments, can you please forgive an impatient old man who thought he knew better than you. I don’t.
Very best wishes and thank you for your help.
    John

I've gone through almost all of your beginner tutorials and I feel like I've been catching on pretty quickly but even still I never thought I'd be able to play a song like this yet but your tutorials are seriously incredible! After only a couple hours I feel like I can at least get through this whole song without too much difficulty.

yesy yes yesss!! I voted for space oddity the last time but it didn't make it as the monthly video. I'm so glad its out. I know your songs are complicated but I much rather have something complicated that sounds closer to the song. otherwise my ears can't get into the song. anyway I can't wait to start this. So pumped.

Lovely, lovely, lovely rendition of this classic song. I will endeavor to learn it.(You have such a great voice for this song that I was hoping that you would play the whole song through---as a solo, not your ensemble). BTW, I talked Emilie-Claire Barlow into adding Chris Hadfield's version of this song to her weekly playlist on Spotify. Em and I are both Canadians so I thought it fitting to add his version to her playlist this week entitled "Blast Off". Looking forward to checking out what other songs you have to offer. Cheers.

I just started playing uke and your channel is one of the ones I follow, great stuff!
I have, however, been playing "Space oddity" for years and that first intro chord is a killer on guitar.
I was wondering how to get that harmony across on uke.
The chords for the intro are Fmaj7(b5), weird voicing, basically an F maj chord with a B and E on top... and Emin.
The best I can come up with on uke is that voicing you use for Fmaj7 and add the second fret on the A string. It's not quite the voicing of the Bowie song, but it has the correct elements(C F E B).
I think it captures the disjointed effect that the original intro has.

Only got my Uke at Christmas, so this lesson is beyond my skills. But I have loved the song for so many years, I have to try!
    Thank you 8)
I do have a question. The picking pattern of (134) - 2 I am having trouble with, as my second finger is being difficult. So I am doing it (134) - 1, will this cause issues down the road?
