Possibly the best cover song ever. Space Odessey sung by a man in space, and the original master of the song fighting his own record label to make sure the world had the chance to hear it!? In a word: Epic.

According to him, none of the astronauts placed the guitar in the ISS. It was a NASA psychiatrist who put the guitar there. WOW. This is quite something. And Commander Chris Hadfield has a great voice for it too. RUclips wanted to take this down for copyright issues with the original by David Bowie, but David Bowie himself battled with his recording company to put it back up because he liked it. So cool!

@@someguy3999 Actually, this song was written and released ahead of the Apollo 11 moon landing 1n July 1969, while the first space station, the Soviet Union's Salyut 1 was launched in April 1971. Chris: Yes
he said in an interview that the guitar is still there and was there since 2001 because a lot of astronauts are singers and it's good entertainment
It's really important that astronauts are able to relax. Otherwise the productivity collapses
There's actually a really major music scene there. They even have a band with variable members depending on who is on Earth or not called Max Q.

According to him, none of the astronauts placed the guitar in the ISS. It was a NASA psychiatrist who put the guitar there. The psychiatrist obviously understood the importance of arts & entertainment in boosting the morale and productivity of its space occupants. @@someguy3999 Actually, this song was written and released ahead of the Apollo 11 moon landing 1n July 1969, while the first space station, the Soviet Union's Salyut 1 was launched in April 1971.
