Travelling is awesome. But the most important lesson here is to be honest with yourself. Do not fall into the trap of society saying you are wonderful as you are and you fit into a certain category. You're not and you don't. You are not obliged to be the person you were 5 minutes ago. You can redefine yourself and go after what it is you truly want, but it takes commitment and decisive action. Failure is as much a part of life as the sun rising in the east and setting in the west, you have to put your ego aside and learn from these mistakes. Make yourself a better person by DOING things. Don't worry, nothing bad can happen to you. Just imagine everything will be all right and the worst thing that can happen is that people laugh at you, reject you or perhaps even insult you. But none of that matters. You are a good person and you are worth love, happiness, fulfillment, excitement, adventure, ... You have to be able to go after and take what it is you truly want in life, on this planet where life is fleeting and uncertain. Don't do it for other people but do it for yourselves.
No matter what story you are using to define yourself right now, YOU did not write it, it's a false version of you, a product of all of the programming we are infused with from birth via parents, tell-lie-vision, school, pop culture and religion. The real you is inside, waiting for you to shut off the tv and notice there's an entire universe of possibility at your very fingertips....that's when the real fun begins.......
I watched the film on tv and when it finished went straight online and bought the blu ray and cd. I couldn’t wait for it to arrive so I could have the soundtrack with me in the car.
When I watched this movie for the first time, me and my friend mocked the guy who suggested this to us. He just smiled politely and went. Years later I watched the movie again and I called the same guy and asked him why didn't you get angry on us when we mocked this amazing film . He again smiled and said I know you guys should reach that point in your life to enjoy and understand what this film truly means. And he's absolutely true, when I'm older and torn apart by life, this movie was a like a breath of fresh air. Thank you Ben Stiller and thank you my friend...
When self-imposed losers realize it’s almost too late, to live. That’s what the film is about. But it equally won’t tell you what the conclusion is. Losers think it’s travel… hahaha.
I was an archaeology student who was aspired to preserve historic buildings. Back in financial crisis, I found no place to accept me as a PhD student and start working in a marketing job in a big companies in Korea. On my way back from trip, I saw this movie and realized that I want to pursue my dream. I never looked back since. 8 years later from that mom ent, I work as a conservator for historic buildings in NYC. I owe everything to Walter Mitty.

You will die one day, and on your death bed you will regret the things you wish you did. So do the things you want to do. Write a list of the activities you want to do or the things you want. You only get one life, use it according to how you want to live it.

I used to listen to this song while walking my dog in the morning, on the fields near my home and watching the sky going from dark to blue as the sun came up. I always loved that moment when my dog and I seemed to be the last living beings on Earth, lucky ones to be able to watch the beautiful sunrise. He passed away on December 27th. And whenever I listen to this song I can’t help but think of him. This goes for you, Yago. Thank you for all the days we were together.

This movie inspired me to travel to Iceland and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. Also, I've been feeling very suicidal lately and this song just popped up on my homepage and literally saved my life. So many good memories with this song and movie. Thank you
Watching this movie made me change the way I look at life. I stopped focusing so much on routine and pinching pennies to enjoy things I was "afraid" of trying. Instead of sitting inside all the time, I picked up snowboarding, went to music festivals, traveled a lot more, and wasn't afraid to do something I hadn't done before. This movie had a great impact on myself when I was going through a rough patch in my life.
This movie makes me emotional because its so relatable, so many people want to just leave everything and go live it just seems impossible to make that leap
of course it’s impossible to make that leap if it doesn‘t even exist but is just an accumulation of steps and circumstances to take. Focus on one step at a time and let life do its magic. :)
That moment when he hits the road on the skateboard just blew my mind. It’s what your inner mind yearns for and knows as representing fleeting but absolute freedom on the moment from all the mundane dross of life. I had a day like that once, riding a motor scooter around Corfu. as a formerly sheltered and introverted guy like Walter it was life changing.. and getting out of minor situations with the help of some of the loveliest people I’ve ever met. it still is one of the best days I’ve ever lived in my 55 years on the planet.
Growing up, I was so afraid to live my own life. I was afraid to be by my self, I was afraid to fail. I saw this movie 4 years ago, and I made the decision to do what ever it took to make something happen. I lost 80lbs and joined the navy. So much has happened since then but it still touches my heart
As a fellow daydreamer that has never taken a risk, without much to put in my "been there done that" section, this movie is an absolute inspiration. Truly a masterpiece
It's been a very hard life these past three years, slowly being forgotten, and forgetting what it's like to be happy. I feel like sometimes life is too much, too empty, but seeing this gives me hope to be happy and fulfill that promise I made to myself a long time ago. Whoever made this, this movie, this song, thank you for giving us this Thank you
Here I am, nearly 10 years later. I, sincerely, believe that this movie is a masterpiece. Though this stunned me when I first watched it, as I never expected something so profound, something so life affirming to be found within a Ben Stiller film. Till this day The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is, still, one of the most beautiful movies I've ever had a pleasure to watch.
this movie is about life it's self. put yourself in Walter shoes. when are we going to wake up take a chance and live life and do things we only dream of and never think twice about doing it. no matter where you are in life, age or situation. give life a chance explore and dare yourself to feel alive just a little and turn those dreams, thoughts, and imagination into reality. LIVE!!! my friend Just live.
A friend of mine suggested this movie and we watched it together on a laptop. Today, he's not in touch but every day I thank him for recommending this movie. To be honest, he taught me to live my life. Thanks buddy
Beautiful song, and a MASTERPIECE FILM! Yes, I said masterpiece. Has to be one of the most under-appreciated films ever. The story, fantasy, adventure, cinematography, music, direction from Stiller, and on and on. And one of the most subtle and perfect endings ever!
"If I like a moment, for me personally, I don't like to have the distraction of the camera...I just want to stay in it... right there, right here." This line specially inspired me to quit all my social media where I used to share all my thoughts and activities. I was more concerned about my virtual life rather than actual reality. But, nowadays, I don't capture every special moment, I just enjoy it diving deep inside that moment.
This film is a masterpiece. The perfect marriage of message, music, and cinematography. Criminally overlooked but then again, 'beautiful things don't ask for attention'.
I absolutely love this movie. I never tire of watching it for some reason. The soccer game in the Himalayas is my favorite scene in the movie. Good job Ben Stiller!
Lost my beloved father some days ago, back here from suggestions on one of my favourite film ever, the title says it all. I started photography thanks to him, hope he will be with me forever ❤love you.
After watching this movies, I realised that to live truly, you have to get out your comfort zone, explore, try new stuff, open your mind and travel. I am grateful to this movie, in a month from now, I'll be travelling for the first time alone.
Other than this IS NOT a Walter Mitty movie, this movie is one of the greatest movies of my life. This Jose Gonzalez song cannot play without me thinking of a milquetoast guy outrunning a volcano on a skateboard in Iceland. Gonzalez is a great musician. But this is a GREAT movie.
In my humble opinion, this is easily one of the best movies ever made (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty). I've seen it over 10 times and it never gets boring! Plus the soundtrack is truly awesome!
La increíble vida de Walter Mitty tiene probablemente la mejor dirección de fotografía junto con las mejores elecciones de canciones que haya visto en ninguna película. Simplemente es perfecto

This movie is amazing. I remember watching it in theatres and not really expecting anything - it is a Ben Stiller film after all - but I sat until the end credits had rolled by, just basking in the absolute brilliance. I'm not going to give some story about how I am an introvert and all that, but this movie is one of the few which have stayed in my mind since I saw it the first time. From the actual plot, to the excellent choice of music and the breathtaking cinematography, Walter Mitty is a movie which should have won all the awards. It is inspiring and beautiful, eliciting a profound emotional response without necessarily trying to. It is amazing!
I've watched this multiple times already, and recently it popped up on Netflix, prompting me to watch it again. It serves as a powerful reminder that life is short; we should explore the world, savor every moment, and maximize our enjoyment. Let's not merely dream but take decisive actions to make those dreams a reality.
This is the most beautiful movie I have ever seen. It inspired me to buy a camera and get out in the world. I doubt I will ever try and get shots of ghost cats in the Himalaya, but for now I'm wandering and living my best life. Definitely changed the course of my life
Every time I feel my life doesn't move as smooth as I imagined, get depressed, recover from it, and start to replan my life, I listen to this song. Life is not so that easy but that's the reason how you can be happy.
My fiancé got me a brown leather wallet with the quote, "because beautiful things don't ask for attention." This was a movie that really stood out to us because it's a meaning we both really understood
You do not have to wait if you take the right precautions. Ive been traveling since the Summer of 2020. I wear N95 masks and eye protection when traveling. I frequently wash my hand and have wipes to clean surfaces such as tables and arm rests. When I backpack or ride my bicycle, I have a neck gator that I can use to quickly cover my face if I pass a crowd of people. At the end of the day when I get to my room, I will use mouthwash and take a shower and wash my clothes. The pandemic has made me spend more time outdoors, which has been good. I pack my lunch more often and eat outside. Traveling to another country is difficult. I went to Korea in December and had to stay in quarantine for two weeks. I have always loved traveling. What I love about this movie is how he has a goal, but starts to live in the moment. Too often people get caught up in the destination, but forget that the true adventure is in the Journey. Safe travels my friend.
@@JoeMandell- That’s amazing how you were able to do that despite the circumstances we’re in. Although I would love to do the same, I don’t think that it’s the right time for me to travel right now for various reasons. This movie so beautifully (along with the amazing soundtrack) encapsulates "the heroes journey" which at a fundamental level is what we are all on... And all we have to do is step "into the flow" so simple and yet so very difficult...you can see from the comments on this video that this movie has, and will continue to be a waymarker for those that are seeking the path to that place. Thank you to all the wonderful creatives that brought this gift to the world. It will be quietly be there for many years to come into the lives of those that seek it at just the right time.
What a beautiful song. In whatever context it’s was meant, I find it relatable in so many ways. Broken-hearted and spiraling out of control. Met another girl broken hearted and in the same free fall. Our few months were healing from our past relationships...companionship with our vices and love of music being the bridge. We healed each other amidst dramas from our partying social lives...there were many. Yet, I can’t thank her enough for taking me away from a dark moment that I couldn’t shake before her impact. Although giving me another slew of problems to reflect on; Weird. Right? she was what I needed at that time. I think she was what I needed as well. She’s happily married now and not the same type of girl she tried to portray herself to be while we were “dating”. She’s the exact opposite. Had I know she’d be that way, we’d probably be together. But I think she’s with a better man for her than me. Hopeless romantic is still in me.
I remember convincing my family to drive out to see this movie, and finding ourselves sitting in an almost empty theater. My dad thought it was the most depressing film, but to this day I clearly remember that entire experience fondly. This movie has rubbed off on me in ways I probably can’t fully grasp, it’s an all time fave.
I remember this was the first movie I could see in HD... What a Wonderful way to start. It has inspired me for all this years to do what I love, to care for everyone in my life and to never give up on myself. This amazing gem has helped me live through my depression and anxiety reminding me that it is NEVER too late to do what you need to do... Such an underrated movie
one moment really resonated with me in this film - when it is revealed that he settled for mediocrity and the security it brought to him and his family after the death of his father. it was an honorable thing that he did, taking up employment at papa john's so he can be financially responsible for his mother and sister and giving up his passion all at the same time. I think in life, we all face moments with decisions such as the one he had to make and settle for security and mediocrity for himself, or his loved ones. it is touching that when the opportunity to break free was presented, he took it and found his earlier self that was passionate for life
I agree. It is such a beautiful part of the film Also, the fact that he never resented it or felt sorry for himself. He worked hard and found value in his choice. Giving up his dreams for his family never felt like a burden to him because his family were what mattered most. And the way he was loved by them was so sweet and touching. It's a beautiful film for so many reasons.

That’s such a postive message ...who r u man 👍👍
No matter what story you are using to define yourself right now, YOU did not write it, it's a false version of you, a product of all of the programming we are infused with from birth via parents, tell-lie-vision, school, pop culture and religion. The real you is inside, waiting for you to shut off the tv and notice there's an entire universe of possibility at your very fingertips....that's when the real fun begins.......
I'm half way there mate
Thank you I really needed this
This really touched me, especially at this point of time
I am filled with joy every time I watch this movie.
Thanks for the video.
can you make a video about it plz 🙏
you know its a good movie when garo comments on one of its edits!

Same here! Excellent characters, funny story, great landscapes and a beautiful soundtrack. BR
Exactly.
Everybodys talking about how great the movie is, BUT THE SOUNDTRACK IS AMAZING!!
Both are amazing. A well thought out film.
I watched the film on tv and when it finished went straight online and bought the blu ray and cd. I couldn’t wait for it to arrive so I could have the soundtrack with me in the car.
the movie is the soundtrack, the soundtrack is a part of the movie
When I watched this movie for the first time, me and my friend mocked the guy who suggested this to us. He just smiled politely and went. Years later I watched the movie again and I called the same guy and asked him why didn't you get angry on us when we mocked this amazing film . He again smiled and said I know you guys should reach that point in your life to enjoy and understand what this film truly means. And he's absolutely true, when I'm older and torn apart by life, this movie was a like a breath of fresh air. Thank you Ben Stiller and thank you my friend...
He sounds like a prick
The Way...about el Camino in Spain. Its...apt.
Watching this during my hardest part of my life
Please sent mr your good energy and the best wishes
Everything is gonna be okay, bro! Keep strong!
Go BOB! You can do it
It's going to be alright :)
When I feel down I just start smiling sometimes - it sounds stupid and feels weird, but it helps ;)
i'm 100% sure you're going to make it
There is only enough time to iron your cape..... and then its back to the skies for you
Really liked this song when it came out in 2013, shared it with a girl I worked with, we have a 7yo son now. Thanks Jose.
i felt goosebumps rn
💓
🥰
I have a *really* hard time believing someone with a sans pfp getting a son right after you showed a girl this music.
You worked with or you worked her?
Why did cancer have to come between us mom and take you away.I miss you sooo much this was the last movie we watched together. Ill always miss you my best friend and ill never see you in this life again. Breaks my heart
😪
This comment section has become one of my comfort zones. The fact that there are real people out there who actually did what I dream of, who actually showed that it IS possible to choose the life we want to choose, makes me cherish my dream even more. One day, I'll come and comment about how this movie showed me what I want to do and tried to sort things out for years and finally started to live.
Well, have you started yet?
@@Keys879 I have gone through some changes and altering my unhealthy ways one by one. No I'm not there yet, but I'm well on my way. Thank you for asking tho!
Good luck to you!
@@55ahl thank you!
@@tasnimmeem1158 Good luck to you! We are all going to make it! Like Walter did :)
Does anyone else feel something very deep and profound from this film, or even this song? I don’t know what it is specifically but it always nearly brings me to tears. Maybe I am supposed to be doing something else with my life and this film is revealing that.
The soundtrack is so relaxing and inspiring at the same time, personally I like to listen to it while bicycling.
You are meant to do something else with your life, if that is what this song makes you feel. I know, because I feel the same way.
You will die one day, and on your death bed you will regret the things you wish you did. So do the things you want to do. Write a list of the activities you want to do or the things you want. You only get one life, use it according to how you want to live it.
But also here's a tip, learn to appreciate the little things. You will appreciate life more that way. I promise.
I'm right there with you. This is my favorite movie and every time I watch it I feel like I can relate some how. Don't know how or why but it's there every time I watch it.
The perfect movie to watch when having anxiety
I do the same thing
Same! This, "Hector and the search for happiness" as well as "The perks of being a wallflower" are my anx movies.
Yagos up there in doggy heaven I know it
Song name???
I hope you're doing okay a year on and are again listening to this song.
I love the comments section, so many positive people gathered here.. just makes me happy and cry seeing your beautiful comments... You're amazing, thank you❤️
This movie inspired me to travel to Iceland and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. Also, I've been feeling very suicidal lately and this song just popped up on my homepage and literally saved my life. So many good memories with this song and movie. Thank you
I obviously don’t know you, but just remember whenever you feel low, YOU matter :) be well

You are where you need to be.
Even when you don't want to be there.
There is purpose to be there.
@@No_Name_2604 Yeah, hang on a rope and let life do its magic...
the BEST movie Stiller has ever done, bar none
This movie is criminally underrated
"Beautiful don't ask for attention"
Truly a masterpiece
as a kid, I never found interest in this movie mostly because I wasn't understanding any part of the film
but now... I think it's a masterpiece
the song, the story, the cinematography of this movie makes this movie special.
Don't forget the cast as well!
Amen
It's been a very hard life these past three years, slowly being forgotten, and forgetting what it's like to be happy.
I feel like sometimes life is too much, too empty, but seeing this gives me hope to be happy and fulfill that promise I made to myself a long time ago.
Whoever made this, this movie, this song, thank you for giving us this
Thank you
Here I am, nearly 10 years later.
I like that thought that's some moments are just for you only
This movie grows on you ……and that’s what makes this a gem
This film is a masterpiece. The perfect marriage of message, music, and cinematography. Criminally overlooked but then again, 'beautiful things don't ask for attention'.
Ben Stillers Magnum Opus. The man deserves morw recognition for this masterpiece.
Just returned from a holiday in Iceland on the strength of this lovely, joyful film.
Beautiful and wonderful movie.
One of the best I have ever seen.
Masterpiece.
Music, art, images, message for life.
Incredible.
I absolutely love this movie. I never tire of watching it for some reason. The soccer game in the Himalayas is my favorite scene in the movie. Good job Ben Stiller!
"Beautiful things don't ask for attention" I really love this movie. Just live your every second of your life.
There is something special about this movie that is hard to put into words.
I just love it when I see people showering love to movies and songs like these, fills my heart with joy.
Lost my beloved father some days ago, back here from suggestions on one of my favourite film ever, the title says it all.
I started photography thanks to him, hope he will be with me forever ❤love you.
I've watched this movie at least 5 times and won't stop till i die. When i'm felling sad or depressive i just press play on it to change my life.
Plus the soundtrack is truly awesome!
this movie seems very simple but got deep meaning about life.
La increíble vida de Walter Mitty tiene probablemente la mejor dirección de fotografía junto con las mejores elecciones de canciones que haya visto en ninguna película. Simplemente es perfecto
I love you Walter Mitty. You have made what i am trying for. I love the way you jumped out the helicopter. I was laughing and tearing. No matters how you jumped, you did the jump
This movie really helps me to change my self alot , discover more about me and get back from the darkness again i lost many friends since 2019 till now ill remember them with our happy memories
to gether miss you all guys till we all gather again . thank you all for making such movie
During the past weeks, months I have been feeling "shallow" "hollow" ufffff. Sometimes I just wanna cry out of frustration. I dont feel the energy I used to sense within me. This songs and the movie is beautiful. Gives HOPE to many of us as I noticed it on the comments. I gotta Open my EYES again, I dont want to let the Dawn swallow me! I dont know why suddenly this video popped up on the video list. Wish STRENGHT and Positive energy to all the people feeling bad or going through awful moments. OPEN YOUR EYES!

I've been listening to this song nonstop for the past few weeks and as much as I love the song and movie I find myself reading all the comments and leaving the video happier realizing this movie has meant as much to other people as it has to me.
This song hurts my heart.
You didn't manage to stay alive and there'll be no more dawns for you.
However, I understand why this was your favourite movie and why its soundrack is on your Spotify playlist. I love you and miss you. ❤️
Whoever is out there that needs to hear this.
You matter, and you can have a full and exciting life. Go get it!
Man thanks for this upload. I missed so much...13 years trucking...gave up everything, friends, a home, just go go go. Worked so much I never even knew this movie existed. I'm going to watch it now.
such an utterly brilliant movie
Life is about courage and going into the unknown. One will get lost when staying in the norm for too long, it will blind you. It's always nice to refresh once in a while and carry on, you'll find something new that might suit you better.
ps: I wish there is a love button for this soundtrack and movie.
I love the detail of how he looks more comfortable and confident with himself after his trip. He was like a whole new person; more decisive about his decisions instead of just dreaming about it… it’s impressive how travel the world helps you to improve your personality
This edit made my day. This song and this movie have had a major impact on my life and seeing them put together like this brought me to tears. thank you.
thank you too
Feeling same ! 🤘🏻
fun fact incase ya didn't know i SAID IN CASE >:( okay now thats out of the way this song is made by the same guy who did the ... almost the whole music track for the movie :y
A truly beautiful movie that celebrates enduring human values. Great job Mr Stiller.
I've watched this multiple times already, and recently it popped up on Netflix,
prompting me to watch it again. It serves as a powerful reminder that life is short;
we should explore the world, savor every moment, and maximize our enjoyment.
Let's not merely dream but take decisive actions to make those dreams a reality.
not sure why. but this song gets me pretty emotional. this movie is incredible
Life is not so that easy but that's the reason how you can be happy.
came across this song. saw the praise for the movie in comments. just watched it. beautiful.
My fiancé got me a brown leather wallet with the quote, "because beautiful things don't ask for attention." This was a movie that really stood out to us because it's a meaning we both really understood
That movie has a special place in my heart. I can't say how much influence it had, but it was definitely there when I needed it.
After the pandemic, I promise that I will finally go backpacking. See the world!!
See you in 2022
@@JosepinoRizal see you around man!!
Yeah me too!
Instead, I’m just gonna take this time to plan my future travels and adventures. I can’t wait for the day I can travel again. I envy you for being able to do it. I hope you have fun and stay safe/healthy!!
This film is so criminally underrated. What a journey of emotions is.
Such an underrated movie and soundtrack. One of my all-time favourites for sure
I’ve watched this video every night this past week
One of the most beautiful movies ive watched
I don't know why but everytime I listen to José's music I feel like someone gives me a big warm hug and tells me it'll all be OK.
The one movie I watch when I feel low
and with this soundtrack it has made me to watch it again.
Ben Stiller is a hidden treasure.
This literally save and changed my life forever. It will be forever a piece of gold in my heart.
Although giving me another slew
of problems to reflect on; Weird. Right? she was what I needed at that time.
Such a wonderful movie.
This movie still in my heart. Thank you Ben!
one moment really resonated with me in this film - when it is revealed that he settled for mediocrity and the security it brought to him and his family after the death of his father. it was an honorable thing that he did, taking up employment at papa john's so he can be financially responsible for his mother and sister and giving up his passion all at the same time.
This movie changed my life. Saw this a dozen times already. This is my "feel-good" movie.
