When you said “focus” at the end of your video, I knew you were talking to me. It’s the best tip you can give, and it’s so much harder to accomplish than the mechanics of playing the song. 😳
I tried but really butchered Vincent. I am really trying to focus on unchained melody. Maybe my voice will miraculously return for it. I so love your patience and clear instructions.
This has made me so happy. Started learning this song yesterday. It was played at our wedding 24 years ago and I'm learning it to surprise my husband on our anniversary ❤️
Thank you for yourclear teaching style. I am 71 and have been wanting to learn for a long time but was afraid I couldn't learn. Hubby bought me a nice concert size for our 51st anniversary. I can't thank you enough. I am doing what I thought I couldn't because of you. It's slow progress because of arthritis in my chord hand but I am doing it! You know just what to do for beginners.
Thank you Bernadette. This 55 year old Chicagoan can FINALLY play and sing to my all time favorite songs because of you and practice. Im so blessed to have found you and am forever grateful. Keep making people happy. Thats what its all about!
I ran across one of your tutorials while surfing You Tube a few months back. I enjoyed your teaching style & patience. At 65 years old, I bought an Enya tenor after following your ukulele reviews. I really enjoyed this UNCHAINED MELODY tutorial enough to to comment. Easy to follow your presentation of the chords, the rhythm, the strumming. I take notes on each tutorial, which you make easy to do. Thank you. (Fun to follow your exploits in Okinawa too) You're a great teacher. I look forward mastering this thing if only I can get my old fingers to bend like they once did. That Fm is a tough one. Keep up you wonderful work.
I started ukulele a month ago and I just wanted to thank you for helping me learn that fast 🤍 My skills have improved a lot in such a short time…you are amazing , I saved some of the videos to practice every day like a warm up and , then I practice all the songs I learned and when I feel ready like today I learn a new one and I really enjoy spending time with my uke I don’t feel that alone anymore…🙏🏻 🤍 thank you so much for changing my life , I never thought that this little instrument will become my bestfriend in those dark times…really thank you so much 🙏🏻
Thank you so much Bernadette, I appreciate you so much. My uncle plays this song a lot on his guitar and I wanted to find out how to play this song. He was fighting a type of lung cancer singing this song and he still sang his heart. It makes me tear while watching his video playing but he is doing good now and he still has his beautiful voice. This song is dear to me and thank you for reminding me of my ohana and home(Big Island). You are so patient and younger students of yours are lucky to have you as there Kumu. I know I am and happy to have you as my new teacher. You have a beautiful voice as well. You remind me of my kumu ukulele when I was keiki. Mahalo nui loa. Aloha
Jean-Paul Frenette 👋🏼 hey Jean-Paul!!! Welcome to the ukulele community. It’s so awesome to have you here. My teaching methods have developed over years of getting feedback from students on what works and what doesn’t! So feel free to share your thoughts on what will help you learn! 😉
I’m actually going to be able to learn how to play ukulele that I’ve been wanting to do for decades. Especially your demo songs are songs I love to sing. You’re a good teacher.
Thank you so much for this easy tutorial. I'm just now learning to play the Uke. My dad passed away in October and this was his ABSOLUTE favorite song, so I decided to make this the first song that I will learn!! Thank you again.

Hey!!! Thank you so much for the lovely comment. You really think of everything ❤️ Happy to hear that you mastered the strumming and fingerpicking. If you slow it down, you’ll be able to transition from chord to chord.
You're welcome Mrs Bernadette. But what did you mean by "you’ll be able to transition from chord to chord".? Of course I already got it. I only need to know what chord is use and the rhythm. Then with a little bit of practice I can follow you play the song.🎶🎶🎶 I think I ask you about transition from chord to chord is how to teach my niece and nephew on how to do that. But you already answer that and now they can do it. They both now can play a few song but in slower tempo.👍👍👍
I love this song so much...and your teaching style gives me confidence to tackle a stringed instrument at 63. Always played trumpet, flute, mouth organ (always the breath play)...such a totally new challenge. Lucky I found you, love your channel. Thanx again Bernadette!

As always your teaching is awesome and methodical so we can actually learn the tunes in real time instead of having to slow the video down, which always makes it a chore. Thank you again.
I've been wanting to play this song on my ukele for my partner who currently works and lives in Japan. She sings this song so beautifully that touches my soul. One day when we can be together again I can play this song while she sings it. Thank you for making this song a bit easier to learn and for the strumming option too. I love your easy laid back style of teaching. Domo arigatou gozaimasu.

Thank you & good advice. Learn a song completely before moving on to another & it does take time. For me, even if I get the song right away, it takes about a week of practicing it a few minutes each day before I’ve really got it.
I find this song so sad, dunno why lol. As always, teaching in a relaxed and friendly way. You make people know they can do it if they practice. Thank you

I have become obsessed with this Enya Ukulele!!! So pretty. I have an acoustic-electric concert Kala that I love. I would really love an acoustic-electric tenor Enya. I haven't seen one in this style, but I can only keep my fingers crossed! I love the 30 day challenge and have been practicing. I have been playing the ukulele for over a year now, but it is always fun to go back to the beginning and get out of any bad habits I have formed. Thank you for all your videos, you're great!!!
Bernadette Teaches Music It sounds beautiful! I’m still working on Havana! So far I got the chords and I just mastered the strumming pattern. My Grandaughter has is down but not me. I’ll get there in maybe two months.

Love the way you teach. Thanks for all the videos. Keep them coming.
Thank you, Bob! Will do 😉
I have become obsessed with this Enya Ukulele!!!
Thank you for showing up close where fingers are placed & the side music chords. New subscriber! 😁
