I've owned my '55 since I was fourteen years old, and I just turned seventy-five. It's really magic how that guitar still makes me feel young again every time I hold and play it. It has truly been a lifelong friend that I will never part with.
There's nothing like the real thing, whilst there was a lot of trial and error with the Tele the Stratocaster was more or less perfect from the beginning, and considering Leo couldn't play the guitar what a legacy he gave us and what a lot of people don't know is he designed the first electric bass guitar the P bass that inspired the Stratocaster, great video and a tone you could die for.
What i dont understand is i can buy a genuine 1955 Strat for around £30 grand here in the UK but a 1959 Les Paul will cost me £200 grand ? why the huge price difference when surely a 55 Strat is a rarer guitar? Anyway beautiful instrument it needs to be preserved for the future.
Also the individual components the 150 year old mahogany and rainforest Brazilian rosewood the plastics alone are 10 grand for the pickup rings pokerchip pickguard etc the pafs are another 10 grand. But if 59 is too much they have 53-57 lps that are alot more affordable w trades and cash. And 59 lp juniors and 335s other gibson brand guitars are also cheaper then the 59, alot of people convert 57 goldtops into bursts w historic makeovers

Not 100% but there were 600ish bursts. I believe fender made more then 600 strats in 55
