It’s crazy to me, that 20 years ago John performed that solo live. The architecture of this song and solo is really like no other. Soo melodic, sad, romantic and hopeful.

This is John Mayer’s magnum opus. It’s the higher art form that only us guitar players can appreciate.
As an amateur guitarist myself, I would say that it deepens our appreciation for it. But the beautiful thing is that all people can appreciate this song. Music is boundless.

In all the years I’ve listened to this song, there has been many great attempts and well worked out covers of people putting effort into playing this song, but this will be the closest I think we will ever see to do this song justice. The tone, the skill, and the soul from his playing was well matched to John’s AGT performance. Wow that was honestly magical.
