So nice to hear a Les Paul - any Les Paul - demoed in a way that actually reveals the character of the instrument, instead of with roaring distortion. Very tasteful playing. Thank you.
A Les Paul and a good Deluxe Reverb are hard to beat,... the Victoria being a single channel hand wired take on the Deluxe Reverb of course :-) such epic tones... phenomenal rig with a phenomenal player...!! Well done!!
Maybe the best 59 Tone Check on YT! Explored all the positions and classic tones and didn’t over saturated every position with distortion. Listeners could actually HEAR what the guitar sounds like! Well Played by a Master of Technique & Tone!
What a truly beautiful guitar, that said it takes a truly considered and reserved player to bring out its gems. Throughly heart yearning playing. Beautiful on every level
Wow! Thank you for showing these wonderful clean tones! I often wonder why only a few players show what a Les Paul can also sound like. Love my Goldtop, but this guitar sounds crazy good!
P-90 sounds can remind me of a good PAF Humbucker. There's a bit more clarity and sting than let's say Gibson's 57 Classic Humbuckers, but more noise too.
After more than 60 years, despite the technique and technology it is not possible to produce guitars with a similar sound. This proves that man, the craftsman always wins over machines and the damned productivity always sought after (and this is an absolute evil) by guitar manufacturers who spend millions on bulls**t like advertising, inclusion, sociality and less in preparation and support of labor.
I think it has something to do with the wood they used then to the wood they use now…back then they where using old growth hondurian trees and they where old tress like from 1700-1800s ……the wood they use today is much different….. I bet if they had the wood they used back then, the difference in techniques to build them would change nd be different but the sound would be the same is this 59…. But yeah the wood…..
Picked my ML lightly aged ‘59 up a few weeks ago. What an astonishing instrument. It feels fully played in now and giving out tones exactly like this one (even looks exactly the same - dirty lemon ‘burst). Gibson are most definitely back to the top of their game these days.
I wonder if it was presented as a Chinese replica, how many people would bash it simply because they aren't really listening and saying some guitar is a 1959 LP automatically is going to get likes for it no matter how it sounds. This amp doesn't sound very good to me, sounds like printed circuits. I did a test RUclips video not that long ago with one of my replica PAF sets in a vintage Elitist LP made by Gibson in JAPAN, and asking people to guess what year vintage 'Burst it was. All of them made guesses what year it was and none of them could tell it wasn't vintage at all. The mythology of vintage Les Pauls runs really deep now. Back in the early 60's they were only worth about $300 and nobody thought they were anything special......until a couple famous players scooped them up, and with their TALENT and the great tube amps of the time, turned them into being worth more than gold. Getting that sound is not impossible at all.
Nope I'm a loyal epiphone man especially after JC Curliegh Restored Epiphone back to premium in 2019/2020..I have 2021 high end Epiphones posted on my channel with specs so there's no debate
Sorry.... aber machmal kommt mir der Gedanke.... die Gitarre klingt wie jede andere gute Gitarre in x beliebigen Händen.... erst ein Könner erweckt sie zum Leben
Gibson only made 648 '59 Standard 'Bursts.' The suggested retail price was $307.50. I would be embarrassed to admit what I paid for my 2014 Custom Shop '59 Burst Reissue, but I lusted after it my whole life, I love it like it was a sweet, beautiful woman.
Came for the guitar, stayed for the playing.
You came for the guitar daddy
Me too, killer guitarist and well done!
The most memorable seven minutes of music I've heard in a long time
The emotion of the player amplified so beautifully through this old piece of wood with strings on it. How lucky are we?
Fantastic playing! That clean tone is incredible
Thanks a lot!
Always love a mellow player over the flashy shredding. Such a nice dynamic🤘🏼
I’m a simple man. I see Duke in the title and I click on the video. Well done as always, Duke
best demo of any Gibson LP ever in my opinion
Check out Barrie Cadogan tasteful playing of a burst ruclips.net/video/PoLDpgBiqpc/видео.htmlsi=JWfNsccdkBR_yXCw
Wow, this was some outstanding playing. Absolutely inspiring. A player like him deserves an instrument like this.
Actually, an instrument like this deserves a player like this. It really is just “stuff” & we are the custodians.🤘🏼
So nice to hear a Les Paul - any Les Paul - demoed in a way that actually reveals the character of the instrument, instead of with roaring distortion. Very tasteful playing. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Exactly- you hear the real tone on cleaner sounds!
A Les Paul and a good Deluxe Reverb are hard to beat,... the Victoria being a single channel hand wired take on the Deluxe Reverb of course :-) such epic tones... phenomenal rig with a phenomenal player...!! Well done!!
No doubt. The PAFs are so versatile.
Agreed I hate distorted tones only demos... and they don't even use actual tube distortion it's all pedal
It's hard to believe that of the 2500 '59 Les Pauls ever made, only 3000 are still around.
I heard it was 3500 out of 2500. :) C'mon though, the guitar does sound good.
How amazing is it to experience the fantastic playing and sublime tones of such iconic guitars.
Could listen to this all day, what an amazing, tasteful player 🔥
What an absolutely beautiful sounding and well intonated Les Paul,..along with some of the best guitar playing you will ever hear.
Thanks for listening
amazing player and sound.
Sure of the smoothest, cleanest, and best playing I’ve heard in quite a while!❤
Glad you like it!
Lovely playing 👌
Duke is tops. The guitar is beautiful and his playing would make anything sound great. Just happens to have a stellar guitar as well.
Maybe the best 59 Tone Check on YT! Explored all the positions and classic tones and didn’t over saturated every position with distortion. Listeners could actually HEAR what the guitar sounds like! Well Played by a Master of Technique & Tone!
Well now that was just lovely wasn’t it.
Please keep making videos just like this one!
Will do :)
So few in the world, sought by so many. The stradavarious of the electric guitar
Sensational playing. Beautiful sounding & looking ‘59. Great video!
I always gets soo inspired by Dukes playing. So tasty and musical. Many of the fastplayers could learn a lesson here :-)
Couldn't agree more!
Amazing playing ✌️🔥👏thanks 🙏
Beautiful playing, beautiful Les Paul, and absolutely gorgeous studio!
Many thanks!
The good ones always make it look easy sound great…Duke did it all on an original Burst! Bad Ass!
Thank you for the clean tone tutorial. To hear the real difference, we have to hear the acoustic and clean sound.
Such beautiful playing.
What a beautiful tone !
Very nice clean tone, duke sure knows his way around a guitar. Bought a collings from this guys demo lol keep it up :)
Cool, thanks!
Masterful playing.
Very nice Duke! Thanks!
One of my favorite tasty players....great tone and touch.
Oh that's a beautiful sound. How our brains come up with this stuff is beyond me.
Fantastic!!!!
Glad you like it!
Beautiful Playing!
it's sound so nature.mid range warm and chunky❤
Nothing like an old 59 to get your creative juices flowing. Too bad that they're six and sometimes seven figures to acquire them.
Goosebumps....
OMG Beautiful
Amazing👍🎸
Rockstar cupcake! Yeah!
Amazing
Great player!
Awesome organization
The intonation alone on that bad boy is amazing
Very nice...
Very nice !!!1
Many thanks!!
What a truly beautiful guitar, that said it takes a truly considered and reserved player to bring out its gems. Throughly heart yearning playing. Beautiful on every level
You can go out for a bite to eat, and it'll still be playing!
HA!
Good God that was satisfying, what a delicious, beautiful sounding guitar 🙏🏻 dose JB know about this Holy Grail 🙈 👍🏻👍🏻
Sur que n'importe quel custom shop ne pourrait sonner comme ça même la meilleure..là légende à bien disparue....
Good heavens...Yes
Amazing playing! Of course the Guitar looks perfect and legendary!
But i would be nothing with out playing on!
Nice guitar nice playing ... simple as
Wow! Thank you for showing these wonderful clean tones! I often wonder why only a few players show what a Les Paul can also sound like. Love my Goldtop, but this guitar sounds crazy good!
0:50 to 1:10 the sad masterpiece
Приятная игра. Жаль, что не было примера звучания гитары в усилитель AC15. Но всё равно. Крайне эстетичное видео
P-90 sounds can remind me of a good PAF Humbucker. There's a bit more clarity and sting than let's say Gibson's 57 Classic Humbuckers, but more noise too.
Got that tele on steroids sound that to me is the great vintage LP sound
That thing really sang plugged into the Marshall
That what the Guit-Box should sound like.
Wonderful video! May I ask about the pedals? Especially with the Marshall?
Thanks! The Marshall is providing all of the gain on its own. We had a Universal Audio Del-Verb in the chain but didn't use it on this one.
Strap button at 2:16 never seen anything like that before, anyone have any ideas of what it is?
that's a leftover from the old style leather strap lock. the screw and washer were left in place after the button was relocated to the heel long ago.
Those videos are GREAT. But too short. They should be 3 hours...
We'll get working on the BURST ASMR series!
@@themusicemporiumboston Wow. That´s gonna be epic.
Incredible tone!! What an amazing guitar! Nothing beats a real 59!
à 01.19 le morceau est sublime
Pretty sure that color top was created by God himself. Absolutely stunning.🤘🏼
Crazy skills, this cat has!
Woods or pickups or both? Which is its secret and why some original 59 Les Paul sound "average" and others oustanding rectius Bonamassa collectable?
GNR. Guitar nerds rule. I’m glad I went down the rabid rabbit hole this morning. Two hours in. skip Spence on now
Mississippi Queen
allways wondering what is the real sound from a Early Les Paul
How amazing guitar sound! But best amazing is prayers skill. Thanks warm and soft sound. From Japan.

This guitar sold for $450,000! Holy ****!
What a clean sound!!!! I can’t stop listening!
I also have a 59 (well, a Murphy lab heavy aged) through a Victoria 20112, it’s simply an eargasm!🙌🏽🤩
Picked my ML lightly aged ‘59 up a few weeks ago. What an astonishing instrument. It feels fully played in now and giving out tones exactly like this one (even looks exactly the same - dirty lemon ‘burst). Gibson are most definitely back to the top of their game these days.
Wow, a usable neck pickup!
Very Peter Green-ish playing and tone in the beginning. Really really nice!
Beautiful guitar but the playing is even more impressive. He could make a plank sound good.
Bliss
Less is soooo much more👍
Remarkable?! Sounds just like mine 2011 Traditional just looks significant poorer of my Desert Burst?!😅

Ok, post up a video. I’ll be waiting to hear the tones you claim to be able to acheive.
Uau
You can't get that woody tone with modern guitars
tears straight tears
can't tell apart from my Chibson in terms of sound
Bonus points for saying Chibson
Es esa
Nope I'm a loyal epiphone man especially after JC Curliegh Restored Epiphone back to premium in 2019/2020..I have 2021 high end Epiphones posted on my channel with specs so there's no debate
It is the player not the guitar.
A great player can bring out the greatness of a guitar. 😁
it's both
it would sound better through a dimed marshall double stack and a boss metal zone pedal
Sorry.... aber
machmal kommt mir der Gedanke.... die Gitarre klingt wie jede andere gute Gitarre
in x beliebigen Händen....
erst ein Könner erweckt sie zum Leben
Gonna go out on a limb and offer ya $100 cash money no wait $150 Let’s send the children home. Will you take $150 cash money today for the guitar??
What’s with all the goofy camerawork . . . Just show the freakin guitar for Les Paul sake . Do we need to see a shirt pocket ? Sad
