I really enjoy and the story and dynamics are good to. And just like mgs 5 you become a leaders and create you’re own “mother base”.

This game would fine as MGS5 DLC or Expantion not a standalone game.
Its price as an expansion. It was only 35 bucks when it came out. Which is the price of most stand alone expansions.
I've got about 60 hours out of it so far. It's asking price was a great deal for me!
Happy I bought it as a standalone, PHYSICAL game. Digital-only content sucks.

Anybody still playing? I just got back into, built up my base, rescued a bunch of people, activated the Digger, realized I was way overpowered, moved on to the next area and was immediately humble by the Trackers and Mortars lmao
This looks like a game I’d pick up cheap and have a fine time with and I’m a huuuuge Metal gear and it’s so refreshing to see a video about this game that lets u have your own opinion letting u decide if u think it’s good or not unlike the others that are like YOU SHOULD HATE THIS GAME or YOU SHOULD LIKE THIS GAME
I just try not to look at this game as canon,or at least as a spin-off of the metal gear series as it has no bearing on the actual story. It's just your own little adventure. Should it have been called a metal gear? No. Is it good on it's own merits? It's actually not bad in my opinion. Not great,but not bad.

The story is completely pointlees but it kind of sort of fits into the canon if you get the alternate ending. But who cares, it's all about the gameplay.

Honestly I think people get pissed off because of the “Metal Gear” in the name, and then comparing it to Metal Gear *Solid*, when *Solid* is the main story, *Survive* is a survival game taking place in the metal gear universe, an example if Metal Gear *Rising*, a hack and slash metal gear with way less stealth than Metal Gear Solid, but it takes place in the Metal Gear universe

nipaigrat Cuz despite the game isn't all bad, the rest of the MG series still make this game looks s**tty. Plus there is definitely no tactical espionage included
well This does not answer my question. If they changed the name of the game it wouldn't magically become better. I can compare this game to the MG series and say they were better, I can compare the game to splinter cell series and have an opinion on that too. Heck I can compare the game to gta 5 and say it sucks. The thing here is, Kojima fan bois are angry at Konami and they let this grudge cloud their vision of this game. If you let that go for a second and judge the game OBJECTIVELY, you'll see that its fine and entertaining.
nipaigrat the problem i have with the alot of the people that hate this game is that they pull shit like "the game is repetitive" and "the game doesn't feel like you are being tactical/ not a good stealth game" or "the world is empty and too big" when these were the same problems that MGS5 the phantom pain had and these are the same people who gave it stuff like 9/10 honestly i don't get it. I dont like MGS5 the phantom pain for these same reasons people hate MG survive and im attacked for it people dont under stand how hypocritical they sound i dont like MG survive but i like it better then MGS 5 because of stuff like limited resources such as ammunition (this mostly happens begining game) and the injury system similar to mgs 3 really pushes the game abit and that was the stuff i expected and wanted to from MGS5 to the people saying that "this doesnt feel like a tactical espionage experience" please note that you guys are also the people that gave a game a 9/10 for having the ability to order missile strike on a base and instantly claim it with little consequences
It's funny that the stealth part is pretty interesting especially when compared to MGSV. Phantom Pain encourages so much "player expression" (which in my book is fine) that if you mess up while trying a stealth approach you can absolutely obliterate the enemies. Now the funny part is that Survive doesn't DO stealth better but it MAKES IT more meaningful. The game has so many brutal survival mechanics and the enemies (especially on second map) can get so overwhelming that when you're attempting a stealth approach you're much more scared of getting caught (than you do in TPP) and have to engage in combat because if you die you're done. You either lose everything you did from the time you left the base or you can do the "Dark Souls" approach and get your stuff back where you died.
If I had to sell this game I'd say that the Campaign = Survival Horror/Crafting with MGSV gameplay + The feel of exploring a dungeon and actually making the map yourself (although automatically) in an Etrian Odyssey game. Post Game = hands down a much better (and rewarding) Resident Evil Mercenaries Mode + tower defense with grinding for better gear and tools that will help you improve your gameplay.
Really this game is REALLY cool and I believe that the people that really hates it will never be able to enjoy but those that are just on the hate bandwagon, given the chance (maybe when/if it gets free on PS Plus) will like it a lot.

Honestly exploring the map and finding secrets is the best part of the game for me. And because it's dangerous and you want to keep your findings save you aren't just done with it in no time. Finding a new small base or house is super exciting.

I know what happened to Konami, Metal Gear and Kojima and I hate Konami on what they did to Kojima but I want to play every game that are fun, challenging and full with secrets. Even if the company are corrupted or the game has microtransactions that affects the game, I am playing that game. (If the gameplay is good, the graphics are good and the dlc is great)
Gameplay and story needs to have something otherwise it feels shallow i avoided this game since hideo kojima wasn't the person behind the making of this game hope his game out of komani is much better. I do not care about graphics but the two things that i strive is story and gameplay. Sure their are arcade games that strive on only gameplay like galaga or pong.

It's really funny, if this didn't have Metal Gear in the title, it wouldn't have gotten nearly as much hate as it did. It should have just been a new IP altogether using the Fox Engine.

Okay i met Kojima several times and got my mgs3 and peace walker copies signed . And you know what? Yeah I might be one of the many fans of the series... So people just have to know that Kojima isn't the only genius on this saga. Co-writer Tomokazu Fukushima was also a big departure for the franchise as he wrote a big part of the plot/script and established the character depth with a deepness that we quite lost after MGS3 once he has gone. Then nobody was whining like puppies about him leaving, huh?
He also was a major hint to the establishment of the MGS2' s modern network , Mind control and censorship analysis sections ,So the actual situation might easily be one of his visions with Stuff like Kojima=foxdie or Fuckonami. these are actual MEMES where poeple tend to recognise themselves and comfort without even triyng to acknowledge what's going on in each side of the situation. He and kojima surely have a reason to laugh with satisfaction^^
In the result, all the work done by the talentful staff still at Konami is reduced to a global bashing trend... But remember, one of the strenghts of Metal gear is the way each episode cuts off with similitudes in gameplay and screenplay between each other , so is this really a Metal gear game? does it plays like it? do we struggle to escape and go tactical to go around smart enemies the stealthiest way possible? Yes, but there's more surprising stuff.
Kojima left/he has his own studio. no more Metal gear for him? Death Stranding's coming.

People get upset because of the public Konami/Kojima split (which seems to still have a fair chance of being a ruse), but like 90% of the people who made this are the guys who did most of the work on the last several entries into the series. There are a lot of subtle details which either make me think Kojima was in fact involved, or that I've been giving Kojima credit for some things which his team members were responsible for. Masahiro Ito even did the creature design (Silent Hill 2).

I think if they totally remove the MTX, remove the always online policy or give offline mode, remove the over abundance of foods/resources (maybe tweaking it a little bit), & lower the initial game's price, I might just pick up & buy the game.
Dude, the micro transactions are not even needed in this game. No one will need them because you can play it without purchasing any of them. The autosave feature and lack of save file is default setting of both Metal Gear Survive and MGSV:Phantom Pain. You don't need more than 4 loadouts (free from beginning). The game is now 20 dollars. They patch the game every week to balance things. Finally, if not always online, people will cheat by modifying their game.

Actually it's a great game, as a dev I had implemented some the division mechanics like not only fighting zombies but other survivors ( NPCs or players) also, more Easter eggs n collectables, n a story more simple but more appealing like a Conspiracy theory about Philadelphia project or Bermuda's triangle.
My favorite part of this game is getting to make a windmill

MGSV came out in late 2014 (7 years ago). Playing MG Survive would bring back memories of MGSV
Great channel. I myself like many fans had expectations for the game and i'm not appeal with this metal-gear-survive. Apocalyptic game modes put a limit on game play as the selection of options are limited apparently. Like many we hoped for a decent ending to the franchise with some fan-service. The nostalgia and cliches are recycled content.
When I got to #6 I thought, The real Phantom Pain.

A lot of things in this game ended up in Death Stranding.
In death standing it was implemented way better with more creativity and was more about the adventure and cool ideas then a quick cash grab

I think Konami made a good call with this game. The Fox Engine and assets were not fully used in MGSV:Phantom Pain because it got released early. You can actually see the power of the engine in that it can be re-scripted and the whole game changes and you can see all the assets in a new light
