Not unusual for Sea Fog on Portland! I remember many years ago a Big storm took half of the beach onto Houses on the lower part of the town, houses were wrecked! A real mess! Amazing view at Portland Heights all the way to Lyme Regis and beyond from up there! You can still see part of H.M.S Osprey Helicopter pad. Such a shame they closed the Dockyard! Loved going to Navy Days there!

It was a shame you had foggy weather but it didn’t seem to affect your holiday. We live in the north east and have that fog regularly on the coast in warm weather, we call it sea fret and it’s caused by the warm air hitting the freezing water. We used to live In East London near the Thames and we also had a lot of foggy mornings there, so I think it’s common next to any large body of water in our climate but I could be wrong! I’m going to watch your older video from that area now so it’s two for one tonight! Thanks for sharing your adventure.
That Prison building was actually the old Navy accommodation for HMS Osprey & RNAS Portland when it was open many years ago and before they built the new accommodation at the end of Chesil Beach as you enter the island. Now also a Hotel I believe.
