Why was 6 afraid of 7? It's a fairly common question, mostly because when people see 6 and 7 next to each other, it doesn't really make sense. 6 is large, muscled, and trained in multiple martial arts, while 7 is fairly average, physically, and short. However, 6's fear of 7 has its roots in childhood. See, 6 and 7 grew up together, and for a few years, they were best friends. But then 6 kissed 3, and they became childhood sweethearts. 7 secretly had feelings for 3, so 7 decided he needed to destroy 6 to win 3's affection. He started subtly, undermining 6 whenever possible with passive aggressive comments and compli-sults. But over time, things got much more insidious. 7 started messing with 6's performance in school, bringing down his grades and turning teachers against him. Even worse, 7 became great friends with 6's parents and slowly turned them against their own offspring. At night, 7 would sneak into 6's bedroom, and whisper depressing and hopeless things into his ears. Every time 3 was around, 7 would pants 6 and make fun of his genitalia, or try to body shame him in other ways. However, 3 was both smart and compassionate, and saw through 7's schemes, sticking with 6, trying to counter 7's psychological tear-down with compliments and friendship. Finally, 7 decided that he would never be able to win 3, so he drugged both 6 and 3, taking them to an abandoned cobbler's hut on the edge of town. There, he proceeded to torture and maim 3, forcing 6 to watch in horror, unable to do anything to save his sweetheart. 7 didn't kill 3, but instead, put her in a semi-vegetative state. 7 cleaned the scene of his prescence, then called the cops, having 6 blamed for 3's condition. 6 was sent to prison, believing 6 was guilty, 6's parents fell into a deep depression, eventually committing suicide over what they believed 6 had done. After serving 17 years of a 30 year sentence, and getting out on good behaviour, 6, now muscled and skilled as a fighter, thought he might get revenge on 7. But when he finally tracked down 7, he found out that 7 had installed a micro-bomb into 3's body, and should he be killed, the bomb would automatically go off and kill 3 as well. And though she was still in a mostly fugue state, 6 couldn't bring himself to hurt her any further, and decided to try and move on with his life. However, being an ex-con, it was difficult for him to get a job. 6 finally found employment at a diner, which 7 then bought, and proceeded to again undermine and toy with 6 at every turn. 6 tried to find employment elsewhere, but 7 contacted any potential employer and soured them against 6. 6 finally realized that no matter what he did, 7 was going to try and ruin his life, and he resigned himself to living as a broken, lonely man, never able to stand up to the depraved, amoral 7.

Here’s a rebalance ideo for the pompson: -remove the -10%uber charge -remove the +22% damage penalty against buildings -add the ability to remove sappers on hit
I really like this idea, as the lower self-defense capabilities of the pomson would allow spies to take down the engineer with their revolver, making spy/engineer interactions more interesting instead of just harder for the spy in every way
Pomson 10,000 -Shoots planet destroying laser -Instantly kills ubercharged players -Firing into the air makes the atmosphere catch fire and rain millions of scorch shot flares
I have fond memories of locking down enemy sewers with a single pomson engineer. Ubers? Spies? The whole team rushing in as a pack? Helpless against my pomson spam. Removing projectile penetration killed it immediately, but I wasn't surprised when it happened. Still hurts though :(
This weapon has never made sense to me with it's gimmicky stats outside of 2 uses. 1. When this thing used to be a discount bison, it functioned like one, and was actually relatively good for the lazier or more chore-focused engineer. The damage was fairly good for what you could get at that range for Engi and what made it work was the piercing projectile, since Engi will more often be amidst or behind the majority of his team in most situations. 2. The cloak drain is a neat idea, I enjoy a weapon that makes Engi's job an easier one. It assists dealing with 1 specific nuisance to the class (like the southern hospitality) while being more different to other primaries. It being a projectile alone helps hit cloaked spies too.
I have two final projects due today for my college courses and I'm watching a two years old, hour-long video about the Pomson, which I don't even have in my backpack. Amazing.
So, as some of you know, there is actually a Roblox version of TF2 known as Typical Colors 2. And I'd say that they actually made their version of the Pomson viable. For starters, the name of the weapon is now the Einsteinium. And secondly, they went with a whole new gimmick compared to the Pomson. The stats go as follows. + Does not require ammo. + On Hit: Reduces healing from all sources received (-23% to -50% for 2 - 6 seconds) and sets your target on fire for 5 seconds. - Deals 20% less damage to buildings. - Deals 30% less damage. - 33% smaller clip size. Healing effect is reduced over distance and duration is increased over distance. This makes it so that the Einsteinium has a base damage of 42 against players, and does a pitiful 9 damage against buildings. But fortunately, the Einsteinium is *hitscan,* meaning you don't have to worry about clunky projectiles. This is easily the thing that makes it 100x better than the Pomson. From my experience, the healing debuff never really comes into effect, but the fact it sets people on fire is a game changer. At max ramp up, you deal 63 damage. This allows you to 2-shot light classes even without afterburn, and can kill Medics if you include afterburn. This makes it a great weapon to use when playing offensively. But that doesn't mean it's useless for defense, as the healing debuff can make it harder for a Medic and their pocket to make it into your nest. Though personally I never got much use out of the healing debuff, (though that might be because there either aren't any enemy Medics or because I die before I get the chance to make use out of it), but it can help for things like Payload defense, where Medics are much more common. Considering the fact that it actually has useful upsides, is hitscan, and is a great tool for both offense AND defense, the you've got a pretty good weapon on your hands. As a side note, TC2 itself is actually a very good game that isn't just some Roblox knockoff to be made fun of. It has some nice quality of life improvements compared to TF2, (no random crits, no bots, consistent updates, etc). For those of you sick of bots over on Casual, or don't have a good enough PC to run TF2, then I would highly recommend it.
Could you imagine if somehow by some miracle Valve releases an update and somehow makes the Pompson the new best weapon for engineer with TheWhat going.. _all that work.._ *ALL THAT WORK?!*
I think I remember that the pompson also used to pierce through buildings, even your own, I remember just staying behind a dispenser and just spamming left click, making the projectile invisible and people getting vaporized
To be fair, they could bring back the bullet penetration property, just making it so the weapon's effectiveness is halved per enemy target penetrated (so you cannot just mow down chokes with a Kritzkrieg, and it would still allow regular friendly penetrating)
For my personal rework of the pomson, I always thought it could be more like a shotgun, make it shoot three lasers at once, all dealing about 30 at max rampup(making it about 90 for a meatshot) and a small speed buff. I’d remove the Uber and cloak drain mechanic, and make falloff still applicable but take twice as long as it does now to come to max falloff.
idc how bad it is it has one of my favorite designs so i love it for that and i love how janky it is. its a love to hate it kinda weapon, just gotta respect how bad it actually is sorta like how you love to watch that one terrible movie cause its so bad its fun to watch.
Love how the first clip of the history chapter shows the engi trying and failing to spam the pomson, noticing a spy, emptying the clip without hitting him once, and then proceeded to just gun him down in like two seconds with the pistol. Didn’t even need to do a voice over for the video, shoulda just show clips.
24:46 this reminds me of when I used to edit mlg video's on youtube on my older account that I sadly lost but nice gameplay with the pomson 6000 of all weapons.
I love how you can spot every aspect in this video used to extend it, from the unnecessarily long pauses to the random side tract rambles he goes on here and there.
I use Pomson as defending Engi in casual payload/ctf/atk def, along with the Short Circuit and Jag/Eureka Effect ; you previously mentioned that the infinite ammo will be useful for those with
A good (in my opinion) point to balence from is damage, compared to stock, how much damage does it do, more? Does it’s downsides counteract that? Less? Do it’s upsides compensate? The family business does less damage, but fires faster and has a larger clip, being able to aim more shots means more max damage, but it’s not overpowered!
I don't think that the projectile actually shoots below the crosshair, but in situations where it matters, I think that the firing delay is causing the projectile to leave the weapon further down your descent than anticipated.
Once I saw this I realized I've bean playing the game wrong and immediately purchased a Professional Strange Pomson and have immediately noticed an increase in my testosterone
0:01 when you hear Dust Devil - D-Code, you know you’re in for a good time, and by “good time” I mean an hour long rant about a nonissue. Luckily, I enjoy that sort of thing.
Ya talk about how sentries count as the "amount of damage you dish out" when the game decides whether or not you'll be given a random crit. So I'm thinking, what if this was rebalanced to be like a "Diet Frontier Justice". Every 2 or 3 kills (guess balance will decide which one is best) done with your sentry will give the player a guaranteed critical hit without needing to destroy the sentry gun?
believe it or not, you missed one hidden strat. the pomson's projectile, alongside the bison's, can light huntsman arrows. why I have no goddamn idea. this seems to want to be a support weapon but it's just too bad in literally everything it does to function as one. I know the joke is that the direct hit is the best melee weapon in the game, but if that's true than this thing is the single worst passive item in the game. even the gas passer is good in MvM, while this thing is just so conditional that you're better off with anything else.
My idea for a rework is that the projectile starts with lower damage, but it ramps up as it goes, to lets say 125%. When it has full damage it penetrates enemies and has a wider hitbox. To compensate for evey penetrated enemy damage is lowered, but uber/cloak drain does not. Add some more stats to balance and it could be useful and balances gun for turtling engies
Shooting the pomson randomly down a corridor, turning around to go somewhere else, then getting a kill is so satisfying. That delayed kill is somehow the most rewarding feeling with using such a slow projectile
The pomson can be good in a very specific scenario. As a battlements engie on 2fort, you can spam down the tight chokes all day and get spies to drop cloak

@@Eye_Of_Odin978 yes, that was indeed the joke
Ad mortem sic vita fluit, velut ad mare flumen. Vivere nam res est dulcis, amara mori. Restituunt furtum fures, vi rapta, latrones. Omnia mors aufert, restituitque nihil. Latus ad occasum, unquam rediturus ad ortum. Vivo hodie, moriar cras, here natus eram.
Amen.
Thank you for allowing me to add my well documented points to such a big project
Also love the kh theme lmao
Surprised next to no one saw this.
Its almost the anniversary of thewhatshows 20k Pomson special. Yay!
37:45 WTF the uber drain has falloff??? thats fucked. spamming it down chokes at medics was like the one thing I thought it was good at...
it is great at dustbowl last as the choke is so far away you get to spam it from far and deal 32 damage from relative safety
The fact most of the current issues would be completely resolved if it was just made hitscan is just crazy
My friend scrapped a lot of items to make an engineer primary. He was aiming for the widowmaker or the rescue ranger. He got the pomson.
oof
Omg I actually REALLY wish those Scout and Medic crossover packs would have been added, they look really cool, especially the medic one I think
Here’s a rebalance ideo for the pompson:
-remove the -10%uber charge
-remove the +22% damage penalty against buildings
-add the ability to remove sappers on hit
rescue ranger but anti spy
As if spy doesnt have enough shit to deal with
@@stars_world139 Yeah ik but It would give the engineer an alternative to the rescueranger.
I really like this idea, as the lower self-defense capabilities of the pomson would allow spies to take down the engineer with their revolver, making spy/engineer interactions more interesting instead of just harder for the spy in every way
It needs the 22% building damage to make sense with the other laser weapon
Fun Fact The Pomson 6000 Was my first weapon drop.,
I Used It So Much
Cant wait to see the waves of pompson users when this comes out
I don't have a Pomson, but I could try to ask TheWhat Show for like ehh 3 Pomsons 5999.
both of them are going to be very happy
28:20 is so minimalisticly hilarious I just don’t have other words
If you can make a 1 hour long analysis of the POMSON interesting, which you certainly did, that's how you know you're good at this.
Pomson 10,000
-Shoots planet destroying laser
-Instantly kills ubercharged players
-Firing into the air makes the atmosphere catch fire and rain millions of scorch shot flares
With one tweak of literally just a speed increase of the projectile, this would be not bad, but no.
Amazing.
Of course now that we have the pompson covered it’s best we head to the bison and man-melter soon.
The legend of the Pomson 6000.
Let's gift him 6000 sandmans now so he makes an hour long video about it >:D
ya
Could you imagine if somehow by some miracle Valve releases an update and somehow makes the Pompson the new best weapon for engineer with TheWhat going..
_all that work.._ *ALL THAT WORK?!*
Even as a soldier the "Doesn't need ammo" - stat rarely comes into play. But if there is one class that doesn't need this stat, its Engineer...
I think I remember that the pompson also used to pierce through buildings, even your own, I remember just staying behind a dispenser and just spamming left click, making the projectile invisible and people getting vaporized
The way this man pronounced "plague" was uh.. certainly an interesting way.
Loved every single second! I can’t believe how much time you got to analyze one weapon. You are amazing man!
I was wondering what the music at 25:00 reminds me and then I realised it's basically a major remix of the Pillar Men theme lol
oh my god thank you for mentioning this i literally could not remember why this sounded so familiar
idc how bad it is it has one of my favorite designs so i love it for that and i love how janky it is. its a love to hate it kinda weapon, just gotta respect how bad it actually is sorta like how you love to watch that one terrible movie cause its so bad its fun to watch.
It's an honor to have my fanart featured as the first in the credits.
24:46 this reminds me of when I used to edit mlg video's on youtube on my older account that I sadly lost but nice gameplay with the pomson 6000 of all weapons.
Out of all of the weapons in TF2, you decide to make an hour long video on the pompson?!?! Perfection.
I adore your editing, it’s just so.. hard to describe. It feels like I’m being let in on several inside jokes. It’s wonderful.
i fully trust you to make the best tf2 video on the planet rn
I love how you can spot every aspect in this video used to extend it, from the unnecessarily long pauses to the random side tract rambles he goes on here and there.
Imagine if Valve suddenly updated the game and buffed the Pomsom. Making this entire video irrelevant.
I use Pomson as defending Engi in casual payload/ctf/atk def, along with the Short Circuit and Jag/Eureka Effect ; you previously mentioned that the infinite ammo will be useful for those with
It was a pleasure providing art and the animation bit for the video, it was worth the wait, congratulations Thewhat
This seems like an extended bad weapon academy episode + some background lore
A good (in my opinion) point to balence from is damage, compared to stock, how much damage does it do, more? Does it’s downsides counteract that? Less? Do it’s upsides compensate? The family business does less damage, but fires faster and has a larger clip, being able to aim more shots means more max damage, but it’s not overpowered!
I don't think that the projectile actually shoots below the crosshair, but in situations where it matters, I think that the firing delay is causing the projectile to leave the weapon further down your descent than anticipated.
I unironically love the pompson, I have fond memories of sentry jumping behind enemy lines and spamming the pomson
Once I saw this I realized I've bean playing the game wrong and immediately purchased a Professional Strange Pomson and have immediately noticed an increase in my testosterone
BRO HEAL YOUR BUILDINGS YOU'RE GIVING ME ANXIETY AHHH
0:01 when you hear Dust Devil - D-Code, you know you’re in for a good time, and by “good time” I mean an hour long rant about a nonissue. Luckily, I enjoy that sort of thing.
While many people may cringe at that sort of thing, I instead, EMBRACE the lemon
For me it comes at 11 pm so i will have to watch it up to midnight. But i know it will worth it.
I can't believe i just heard the machinarium soundtrack out in the wild
Finally a review for the best weapon in the game
I really like this idea on how to buff the Pomson! However, I feel like we should shoot for getting the projectile speed to 900HU :)
With a pomson 6000
damm, that chrono trigger music during damage discussion
Glad you liked it cause it got my video claimed
shit mate, enjoyed the video though xd
I feel like if they reverted balancing to pre tough break update the game would be much better
And now, he has destroyed all of his pomsons
4:45 laughed out loud the comedic timing on the wot wot coming back xD
So excited to watch the rest thank you!!
Shooting the pomson randomly down a corridor, turning around to go somewhere else, then getting a kill is so satisfying. That delayed kill is somehow the most rewarding feeling with using such a slow projectile
If the Pomson gets updated, will it be the Pomson 6001?
now when u reach 100k we need a 3 hour video on the hot hand (pyros best weapon)
The pomson can be good in a very specific scenario. As a battlements engie on 2fort, you can spam down the tight chokes all day and get spies to drop cloak
Or spam chokes with a friend
I finally understand now why the righteous bison is in the background of a panic at the disco music video
I await for this masterpiece to be revealed
Definitely one of my more favorite tf2 videos now and it was really enjoyable to watch, plus I like the voice and humor a lot so that also adds to it.
_So guys we did it_
i think id make the pompson be able to penetrate all players, ignore resistances, and maybe shorten uber time
