I think when Arthur was told that Uther used magic to ensure his birth instead of telling Arthur that Morgause lied to him to tell him to banish Uther from the Kingdom to live the rest of his life as a hermit. Then have Arthur pass a law so that anyone that is seen giving help to Uther will be flogged and anyone that attempts to harm him will be executed. Then from that point on we could have seen Arthur slowly let Magic return to the land. And in Mid season Merlin reveals his magic to Arthur but still must keep it a secret because if the best friend of a king that's suddenly revealed to be a mage they might think he's controlling him with magic. And then we can have bits where Arthur knows about his Magic and tries to hide it from other People who also know about Merlin's magic and pretend that they don't know about his magic. And when Arthur finds out other people know he gets mad(not really) that he was the last one to know. And how Arthur learns about how much Merlins has done for him and how he suffered. Like Killing His would be girlfriend, Watching his Dad die. The original end of the show makes me feel like watching the show was for nothing as Arthur never Fulfilled his destiny and returned magic to the land of Albion.
1:17 Crown Prince ≠ Prince A prince is in line for the throne , the crown prince is first in that line . It is like a monarch signing their will , they name their eventual successor . If done right , the crown prince should have time to build a power base while the king slowly delegates more to the son . A smart king would retire when their heir reaches a good point .
It really depends on the region and time period. Prince is one of Augustus Ceasar first titles. It was meant to designate him as first amongst equals since he never claimed the title of emperor. Prince was also the title of the monarch of Wales. After Edward Longshanks conquered Wales, he named his son Prince of Wales and heir to the throne of England. Henceforth, the Prince of Wales came to be known as the crown prince. Similar to Westeros and Dragonstone in the Song of Ice and Fire.
I like the old myths too. And I was originally disappointed they diverged so much. But I did make my peace with it early on (by the end of first season), and enjoyed the show. Mostly. I just wanted 1 season where Merlin was out in the open. It could have been done. End of the 4th, or beginning of 5th, there could have been a big reveal. But nope, they stretched it to the very last episode. And made it a very limited reveal too. I do like your changes. Very well done. 👍🏼
I wasn't expecting a happy ending but I was expecting a bitter sweet one. Either a post Magic reveal happy for now golden age but with the apparently unavoidable prophecy of the strife of Cameline hanging over everyone's head or as you put here Arthur gone but the golden age all set up. What the show gave was everything Merlin did was for nothing all the bad prophecies came true and the one good one was meaningless.
I think that they should have committed to the idea they played with and hinted at a few times in the third season that Morgana was under Morgause’s control. The audience needed it to be made explicit that Morgause had brainwashed, the halfway point that we’re shown doesn’t work. Morgana had previously been disgusted by Uther’s actions and acted against him, usually in anger, a few times, but she never actually hurt anyone even if that was initially her goal. There was no way Morgause could have been as confident in Morgana’s loyalty as she was to Cenred when the entire plan relied on her being pretty chill with people getting hurt if Morgana wasn’t completely under her control. I think Morgause did the same thing to her as she did to Gwen in season 5, so it would have been interesting if Morgana crashed the party while they were unbrainwashing Gwen, and in trying to stop them, went willingly into the lake and unbrainwashed herself. That way we could have had a few episodes of redemption and her and Arthur making plans to make Camelot a safe place for peaceful magic users and Merlin reveals himself to them, whilst Morgana’s former followers took it upon themselves to continue her mission. We then see the return of Alvarr, who reminds Mordred of the reasons he had fought against Camelot as a child. Mordred, being welcomed back by an extreme Druid sect, has to choose between the two sides, and ultimately chooses the druids after Arthur has to sentence one to death for killing a whole patrol of knights. Then we get the fight at Camlann with Mordred killing Arthur, Merlin and Morgana desperately trying to save him, but they can’t because the blade is enchanted. They take him to the lake, but are attacked on the way and Morgana gets hurt. Merlin sends her and Arthur onto the lake together, and returns to Camelot alone. He and Gwen work together to put in Arthur and Morgana’s plans to bring magic back to the kingdom.
I'm a fan of the show, don't care that much about the myths and approve of all your changes because you cut through and kicked out a lot of BS. Wish your version was the real one
Here's a little interesting spin to improve your fixing of the show. "In a fascinating twist on the classic tale, the dragon that threatens Camelot is not gold, but a malevolent red dragon. This beast embodies the evil force that seeks to destroy King Arthur's kingdom. The red dragon's symbolism is rooted in its association with the Saxons, a historical enemy of the Britons. What's more intriguing is that the Red Dragon forms an unholy alliance with Morgana, Arthur's half-sister and nemesis. The dragon manipulates Merlin, Arthur's trusted advisor, and uses the wizard's own magic against him. As Merlin navigates this treacherous landscape, he must seek out the wisdom of the White Dragon, his true mentor and a powerful symbol of good. The White Dragon, driven by a desire to preserve and defend Camelot, believes that the kingdom can still be redeemed if the right leaders are in power. This nuanced perspective adds depth to the traditional narrative, highlighting the complexities of morality and the nature of evil. Adding another layer of intrigue to this tale is the introduction of the Cath Palug, a monstrous cat from Arthurian mythology. This trickster creature, driven by an ulterior motive, appears to aid Merlin while secretly serving the Red Dragon. The Cath Palug's ultimate goal is to bring about Arthur's downfall, adding an element of tension and suspense to the story." I hope this revised version meets your expectations!
On top of inclusion of more realities in Arthurian legend, like this video denotes, progression for Morgana and complexities of character- oh and more intricate magic than the hand lift telekinesis haha.
I tried to watch the show: didn’t like it and I personally think is overrated. However, I can understand why a lot of people loved it, being a part of their childhood, the comedy and stuff. I liked the comedy myself, my problem is with the whole thing of “destiny”, characters, you know who, are so determined to follow that destiny that made a lot of wrong choices that ultimately led to that ending and people suffering because of it, Morgana and Freya for example. Merlin, even if I liked the comedy moments, at some point he seems to be too much stupid (and honestly I like the actor, but honestly I couldn’t see him as Merlin, honestly) Arthur, I like the actor they choose for him but he’s too much a prick at some point, and it goes on and on. The ending of course, convinced me that everything Merlin did, in the end it was basically for nothing. The dragon is annoying, except Aithusa, I liked her. In conclusion, it’s funny, but not the magnificent series some people said, but of course, everyone has different opinions and tastes. But yeah, I agree with the majority of what you said here.
I watched this entire series and I was extremely disappointed. First of all Merlin should’ve ended up with more Ghana second, Merlin was supposed to be discovered by the end of season one or in the middle of season two that shit was horrible on how they did this this series.
Well an end of a year. So about Captain America 4 arriving where there is a familiar face coming back from the Incredible Hulk movie and for Venom 3 and Kraven the Hunter movie that there were Thunderbolts members that joined during the Devil’s Reign storyline. How about fixing the Black Calderon movie, Jurassic World trilogy, Speed 2, TMNT movies and the Last action hero down the line. Also what do you think about Beetlejuice 2 and the animated series?

I am fan of the show. But I wish we got the time line you said. It sounds like it could make a far better story then what we got

I know the show is bad but its so loveable
I love the show so much and I agree with you I actually love that type of History and stuff so I'd love to this this is very cool.

They devastated me with the ending. How dare they..
I just finished listening while walking but…
No Merthur??? 🤣
Jaja that’s what I was thinking too.

I prefer your version over the show.
Good fixing vid as always

I like ur story better as a fan of the show
Love the fix
They are definately not follwing the Arthurian legends/stories correct.
Morgana should have won best part of this show and she is justified.
Uther is based
Your Voice is definitely annoying..Fix it..
