I am a big fan of self-scar massage, a natural scar treatment after surgery that you can perform on yourself to improve scar tissue adhesions, pain, and mobility! In this video, we discuss tissue healing and the potential benefits of scar massage, before walking through how to perform different self-scar massage techniques in real time. Cheers to natural scar treatment at home 🤗

I have had a lot of success working with a women with C-section scars as well as other patients with scars from surgery. And honestly the clients I have that have the best results are those who do take the responsibility to do some self massage on a regular basis. this video is great

Thank you for sharing your success with scar massage in your practice! I am a huge proponent of it, and while some people will benefit from only having it done by professionals 1x/wk or so, I, too, have found that the people who take responsibility and actually do it at home have the most success in their healing.

What if I've had multiple c sections and my last one was 3 years ago . Can I still benefit from this?

I have worked with women with C-section scars 10 years past the pregnancy and chest still enable to improve the mobility of the connective tissue. Even though you might not get or start working on an area within the optimal time there is always time to improve and heal

Yes, I echo what Laura shared 🙌
While we can't point to evidence in the literature (because it hasn't been studied), I know other body-workers who would agree that scar massage can still improve mobility/access to underlying musculature/sensitivity in a scar that is older than 2 years-old. Like Laura said so perfectly, there is always time to improve and heal 💛

Thank you both very much for your feed back. I have done some at home self scar massages when I have the time. I am looking for an actual pelvic therapy via my OB's help too! I am trying not to go straight to surgical intervention but with the built up scar tissue it doesn't hurt to take this route first.

@@denisesullivan-stotts9688 Yes, I think surgery can be incredibly helpful sometimes; however, unless the situation is urgent, I also think it is worth exhausting conservative interventions before going under the knife. So happy you're seeking pelvic therapy! If you have trouble finding a therapist via your OB, you can also use this directory to find a provider near you if you live in the US: pelvicrehab.com/
      Wishing you the best 💛

I appreciate all the help I can get ! Thank you for the link and all the guidance this channel offers. Surgery is a route I may seek due to how my scar is so tight and embedded/deep. This all gives me hope to seek out help for the discomfort and pain I have at times! Thank you ladies!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤

i WISH you were around my area, you're an absolute gem. I feel so at ease and i love watching your videos so muxh, been binging them. I grew up with so much stigma around sex and our private parts in general, i could never communicate to my mom about these issues and even SO MANY DOCTORS have outdated beliefs such as hymen checks and not being able to get utis without sex. Thank you for this channel.
