, honestly I cannot think of any other project or blockchain that has the capabilities that ICP has. Is a behemoth of a project with all honesty the idea of a blockchain is not even what's important about dfinity it's secondary. It is all and everything that it does for the internet developers and users this thing is amazing

Well summed up. I’m not an ICP maximalist - I’ll invest in any other project that is at the same level, or more advanced, than ICP. However, I’m yet to see anything that ticks all the boxes…

The thing I don't get with QNT is the finite supply. What do they intend to do when the supply runs low, assuming the project is actually truly adopted and used? Fork it? Doesn't make sense to me to start that way.

Thanks for that video, didn‘t know that. The tech behind ICP looks very revolutionary and promising. And prices are really down right now. Looks like a good opportunity for me.
The scam already happend. A lot of people are stuck with their bubble asset. Right now, with the help of marketmakers, they try to lure people into the coin to get the exit liquidity. But that is the reality for every coin. Just don't be to greedy. Have multiple take profitzones on the way up. Get your initial investment out asap.

Yes the majority of crypto blockchains don't do anything on-chain aside from running their token or coin, ledger, and a bit of computation to process and secure those items.
Ethereum never could offer much more, meaning on-chain storage or computation, in any significant or practical way. If a cryptocurrency is an Ethereum L2 then that means it is piggy-backed on Ethereum which means they can't do it. A lot of other blockchains are just updated versions of Ethereum but still copycats. So, yup. Mostly not doing anything on-chain. To my mind, I don't like the whole "We're WEB3!" narrative if a project is heavily leveraging WEB2. Also, to make it even worse, many of these projects also lean pretty hard on WEB2 for their nodes and validators.
This is also why I don't quite understand the point of Chainlink. Link a bunch of "WEB3" projects together, which mostly aren't WEB3, and facilitate communication between blockchains and L2s as well as link to WEB2 data sources. Why not just use a blockchain that can actually do these things to begin with, instead of making all these elaborate work around band-aid fixes which still don't actually fix it?
Then there are some cryptocurrency projects which actually can do something on-chain. Arweave, for instance. You can actually store data on-chain with Arweave. That said, I still need to research it because if you're just hosting data on-chain using nodes that are in turn hosted on AWS or some other mega-centralized big tech then that's a let down. That is just one of the items I want to look into more before making a video about Arweave. Furthermore, Arweave only lets you store immutable data which means it cannot be deleted or modified. Add on top of that it is still a little expensive to store data on-chain with Arweave compared to some alternatives, though you only pay once and probably many people see that as a bonus whereas my first thought there is, "How is this sustainable long term? Where does the 'money' come from?".
Imagine paying $20 or $30 to store 1GB of data on-chain for 50, 100, or even 200 years or more as a one time fee rather than paying $5.35 per year, only to have the entire project just fail 3 - 5 years later because it isn't generating any funds to pay to keep running the blockchain. I'm getting ahead of myself here as I still need to do more research, but right now I'm feeling like Arweave might just be yet another Ponzi. Remember, a Ponzi is where old customers are paid with new revenues coming from new customers. When either A) not enough new customers are onboarding any more or B) customers do a "bank run" wherein everyone wants their "money" NOW and they don't have enough funds on hand to cover it, it all collapses. While scenario B may not be applicable here, I'd think scenario A still is.
That's cryptocurrency for you. Just one big "WTF is this?" moment after the next.
All of that said, I am not the most informed person on blockchain. So, I'll be the first to tell you I don't know everything, I can and unfortunately likely will make mistakes, and you should always do your own research. And last, never trust, always verify.

I think most people with a lot of conviction end up sounding that way. For me, with $ICP, it is pretty simple: It is what it says it is, whereas everything else I've looked into is a joke imo.

@@CashDigi AFAIK Arweave only offers storage and at a cost of something like 5 or 6x the cost to use $ICP storage. Arweave doesn't offer compute. That said, I'm sure there is an opportunity to make profit with Arweave and AO computer both. For me these questions are always really two part: 1) Is there an opportunity for retail to profit? 2) Does this have a really good chance of being a long term success?
More often than not, it is yes and no. Yes, probably opportunity to make money. No, probably not really viable long term since it's not really bringing value.
However - contrary to popular belief, it isn't always the best product or service that wins. Look at GoPro. They may have popularized the action cam niche, but they're arguably not the best value or best product. Or look at GoDaddy. GoDaddy has done well in terms of making money, but would you want all your hosting to be through GoDaddy?
What I'm saying here, is there's always the chance something like Arweave is a long term success, because factors other than what the tech can actually do come into play.

Why do I have a strong intuitive feeling it is still being manipulated? I hold 200ICP but the price action looks suspicious.
It probably is. Even regulated markets are still manipulated. That said, the low price right now today is more so due to the whole market being down imo.
