Sol is only about transactions, and 95% of other projects are just that. ICP can do much more than just transactions.

@@keepitkiwi you can say that for thousands of coins 🤣! Unfortunately with ICP ‘great’ tech everyone talks about it, you don’t get adoption then your competitors catch up very quickly…as we have seen with near protocol creating their own chain key technology

SOL is a good chain but with the current mass wave of new memecoins it cannot handle the load of transactions. There are many days when the solana network fails and people have lost their money. SOL and ICP integrations make it possible for SOL users to secure the safety and integrity of the ICP chain while using their SOL tokens like they can with ckETH or ckBTC.

Solana gives an insane amount of money for marketing . It shows. The tech is mid. Definity gives their money for research and development an basically none for marketing. The real tech will prevail, when solana reaches a point where their tech flops on its face.
Sometimes hype is better than tech. In the early days of crypto I used to make similar comparisons and put my money in places other than bitcoin, it didnt pay off. Find out where the crowd is or might lean and at least give yourself exposure to it.

Correct. I have been in the space since 2015 and know that crypto is not rational. Follow the hype and follow the money and you will make bigger and faster gains. I have ETH, SOL and ICP but to expect ICP to dominate in 5-10yrs is naive. Can it? Its possible, but In crypto what happens with good projects, developers eventually leave and build their own competing chain, copy the tech and improve it. If ICP is as incredible as what everyone believes, expect competitors fellow ICP holders. This is the nature of the business.

SOL is making revenue, ICP has no revenue. We can see who is using SOL, who is using ICP? SOL's DAU's (Daily Active Users) far outweighs ICP. At this point, ICP is more theoretical while SOL is working in the real world. SOL is starting to take away market share from ETH, while ICP is not. ICP has not handled any high volume loads like SOL. Yes, ICP is fantastic but it is still developing. FYI, I have SOL, ICP, ETH and I find the ICP crowd completely fanatical and unrealistic. Every ICP channel keeps pointing out the same metrics. These are 'confirmation bias' channels where everyone comes to hear what they want to hear. SOL is actually out there in the working world , ICP is a year or two away. ICP investors get bogged down in numbers and potential but the real winners are ETH and SOL (as flawed as they are), they are making its investors huge gains and have the most interest by big business, public and media and it does not matter how they achieve that. We are all here for the money and not to become part of a cult. ETH and SOL are making the dollars while ICP price is stagnating. No one can predict what will happen in 2yrs, 5yrs and 10yrs. No ICP investor has even considered the possibility that developers will eventually leave and create their own competing chains to ICP and maybe do it better, have they? This happens in crypto all the time. So I wouldn't count on ICP being the only one in the next 2 -10yrs. Crypto is constantly in flux and never rational.
ICP is in the real world. They have things in use, such as OpenChat and Taggr. Yea, developers could make a competing product. It is far easier to say something than to do something. For example, you could start your own RUclips channel and educate the world. I think you may find actually doing it - successfully - is a bit more difficult than saying it. Raising the money and competing with what a team of 82 R&D team members have developed and are continuing to develop is a bit of a high bar. As far as confirmation bias, that's part of crypto - the world, really - and for damn sure is part of the $SOL community, not to mention a lot of lies. "SOL is the fastest blockchain". No, it isn't. ICP people get very little content because most people won't cover it or even mention it. So yea, it's a niche that is easier to get views on as a result and the community tends to be pretty supportive which is a nice change. SOL seems to just spend their way to success. "Hey everybody, want free money?! Transact on $SOL! Get a chance for free air drops!" And of course paying influencers, throwing money at companies to partner up, etc. Other projects do that too of course. GoDaddy and their massive ad spends and commercials they used to run comes to mind. GoDaddy hosting is trash, and yet they're a very successful company. I imagine people have made profits from GoDaddy GDDY stock, too. I definitely agree that anything can happen. That is part of the reason why I don't have my $ICP staked. I might stake it. I might not. I can see reasons either way.
@@Coinopoly Yes, I know all about ICP. Sure, SOL is using any means necessary to get to the position where they are and further, nothing wrong with that and not against the law. Dominic could learn things like this from Anatoly. What do you think all the top Nasdaq listed companies have been doing to get where they are? Playing nice, fair and ethical? haha, I have worked for a couple and my friends still work for them for these companies. Thats business and survival. This is also a part of the crypto world too. For me, I don't care which cryptos win out, I am not in love with any other them and I don't believe I have some special connection with them like certain crypto communities believe. I started in 2015 and was an idealist, believing BTC would change the world and challenge the sick world financial institutions. It didn't. It is all controlled by the traditional systems. We are all here for the money. Whatever is winning and price goes up, I am there. I don't even give a crap for the tech anymore, I have seen so much in my journey. Am I jaded? you bet! Anyways, all the best, your channel is not for someone like me but it is one of the better ICP channels as 99% are all crap.
