Thanks so much for this Problem solving video. Incredible
Very useful tutorial, thanks for sharing
Many thanks. I am down to Power or backlights.. question if plug or unplug the mains I see the backlight flash for a brief moment. No voltage on the LED+ and LED-.
Interesring issue where the back light powers on for about half a second when the tv is switched on. Removed the ribbon between the main board and power board and nothing. Metering 5v momenterily across the backlight output then sits at 2.5v. Assuming its the power board, but the fault is the output voltage, with the main board disconnected youd still expect the the light to behave in the same way, bur it only momentarily lights with the main board connected. Any thoughts appreciated!!
Yes! I have a bscklight issue with my tv. I see the faint images and colours when I use a flashlight. Will be calling the technician tomorrow
my lg android tv 65 inch. only audio, no picture appear on screen.
I’ve got LG Sony LED TV. There’s sound, but screen just went black after I watched RUclips for approx 15mins. There is a white/grey line at top of screen. So I’m guessing my TV is bust ? I can’t see any images with a torch ?
Is it possible to have an intermittent backlight failure?
Have to try turning on my tv about 50 times. Sometimes can see a faint outline. But if I try enough times it fires up and works fine
Yes, it is. Backlights can get faint or only work intermittently when near failure, but it could also be a loose connection between the LEDs or with the power board.
My LG 65uh950v starts fine, works for 30ish minutes, and then goes black, but sound still works. Tried the power off, for hours without live socket. I only use the telly with WiFi, so nothing is connected. Nothing appears on the screen no matter what I do, but I can turn TV off. There is a small red light blinking on one of the circuit boards, that only blinks after it goes black. +2000£ TV and only 6 years old. Hate sending TV to repairs, without knowing the issue since fault checking is a costly potential rabbit hole. I got 200km to repair shop one way so that's why I really would like to know more first.

Any ideas?

L G T V colour screen problem no byeing
meh... I have a 2021 LG LCD TV and the backlight is fine, the power board is fine, and I can change channels and hear sound but no picture, it's completely dark. I am fairly certain that after 2021 they stopped using T-CON (converter) boards as mine does not have one, so the only culprit here is a bad LCD or a bad controller board.
T-Cons got integrated onto the main board for some models. You should still have the same pair of LVDS cables but they go to the main board instead.
If there's no picture with the flashlight test, I would assume it's the LEDs, otherwise the main board.
@@techtests It was the COF IC in the cable, these cables have little dots on them and I think they are fuse indicators and all the cables have dots except one which also has a burnt mark between traces, so panel is toasty toast. It's pickings for shop that has equipment to solder the whole ribbon with COF IC back on. It is weird that it died exactly right out of warranty. Holidays gave me some Vizio panels now. Thanks for reply though! 👍
I have no picture but sound. I don't see pictures with the flash light. When I unplugged the power board from the Main board. Nothing happen, no sound, no light, really like if don't turn on.
When unplugging the right LVDS cable, nothing change, when I unplugged the left, I have one side dark and one side white.
Do I understand I should change the T-Con?
Thank you for your great video
Right did you solve it
what if the backlight works for a couple of minutes, then it blacks out ? if i leave it for a couple of hours, and power it back on, it works again only for a few minutes, then off goes the backlight. any idea which component could cause this issue?
That’s my issue too
Same here. No fixes on RUclips, LG's support is a joke, and I felt like I'm the only one with this issue. I get a picture for 3 seconds then blank. Why can't anyone help me?

@@Mustaciosul I'm just going to buy a new, bigger, more modern TV. This LG is almost 10 years old. It's beyond time for a new one.
Try tapping gently on the back of the tv.
This is what I did nothing, so I hit it till it broke
