THANK YOU FOR THIS
Antoine Bandele hi
i just came from watching your kyoshi novel videos, they were awesome
I was hoping you saw this!! ♥♥😎
Rangi was said wrong
HI Antoine!
This is a life saver!!! thanks!!!❤
Peace was no longer an option because now Rangi was here ❤️
I Have butchered their names :(
So have I.
For me it was always "Raanji" lol
@@Meduurtje Oh my gosh same
My sister always read Kelsang as “Key-slang” 😆
I always pronounced Peng Peng as Pang Pang
You gotta do the scene in the second book where Rangi starts to be suggestive to kyoshi but then makes her do stance training 😂
The voice is from the audiobook you can find it on youtube!
They did
IVE BEEN PRONOUNCING RANGI AND JIANZHU’S NAMES WRONG IM SORRY
Same
I want the comics to be animated IMMORTAL
If only they did an Avatar Prequel series of Kyoshi instead of the books and fan comics!!!
Yeah hopefully in the future tho we can get a Kyoshi series
I pronounced it jee ahn zoo and I’ll never not call him that 😔
That is exactly what I called him and will call him. Hahahaha
i said jee-ahn-zoo
Man, I had so many of these wrong... haha. Not sure my brain can make the change!
Now I know I was pronouncing Jianzhu wrong. But thanks for helping me get it now.
Had no idea Peng peng sounded like that. Thank you for this!!
ran-jee, jon-shu, peng peng ( not pung pung) is what i have in my head and aint nobody gonna change that 😅
I thought it was ran jee too
It's much easier if you speak Chinese. Though some names aren't Chinese.
The whole time I’ve been saying ran-jee too. I was shocked when I heard that. It doesn’t sound right at all.
I said Rain-Gi and and Ji-an-zu and stuck to it. I did change the way I said Hei-Ran though because I used to say it like he ran 🏃
0:27 Sounds like Azula.
Ehh not really- it barely sounds like her
Me and my dyslexia thank you
Some of these pronunciations remind me of the ones in the live action Last Airbender movie. Not sure how I feel about that.
The name pronunciation was the only good thing in that movie
Shyamalan was not lying when he said he tried to use proper Asian phonology for the names. It’s just the actors overpronounced them, kinda like how an American might overpronounce ‘croissant’.
Is Salai an Avatar before her?
Yeah.
Even way before Szeto the Avatar before Yangchen
Yeah, before hearing the audiobook, I always mispronounced Jianzhu's name as "J'ahn-zhu."
Kelsang's name as "Kel-SANG (as in he sang). As for Peng-Peng, I don't think anybody would pronounce his name right first try.
Thank you for making this. I pronounced a number of their names wrong. Could you make one for the new characters in the sequel?
I'm familiar with the Pinyin romanization system so iI knew how Laoge's name was pronounced all along!
I refuse for some of these. For me, Rangi had a soft g (like On Ji in Atla) and Jianzhu has a glided J (sounding like yan-zu). I know I’m unfamiliar with how names like these are pronounced natively, but it’s so hard to get the pronunciations out of my head.
While these are decently authentic, I don’t feel like this is how they would be said in the tv show
1:28 Leonidas: "Immortal!?, "We'll put their name to the test"!!!
I was almost done listening to Nancy wu’s video reading the book and I just went to listen to the rest of it and her account has been terminated :(
noooo
Thank you!
I knew I was pronouncing rangi wrong! Thank you!
I pronounced like 95% of their names wrong
Same bestie
Good god have I ever said these wrong.
Rangi (Rain-gi)
Jianzhu (Ji-an-zu)
Kelsang (Sang like he sang a song)
Pengpeng (Pang Pang)
Wai (Way)
And the best one Hei-Ran (He Ran 🏃 )
I SAID RAIN GEE HELP
Please😭 I said “rainguy”
THAT'S HOW JIANZHU'S NAME IS PRONOUNCED?!
THANK YOU SO MUCH OMG i always struggled how to pronounce the names...... and to be honest I pronounced almost every name wrong BUT NOW I KNOW HOW TO PRONOUNCE THEM RIGHT
Alright who told you I spell Kirima’s name like Purima it was only a few times
Amagi: * continues to ignore this video * "Lao-Jee may have actually been Ty-Gway the Immortal."
It’s RAhngi and not rAngi
Pung pung???
Eu tendo a chamar o Jianzhu de 'Zu', a pronúncia é complicada.
Eu tbm, sempre lia como "dianzu"
Wouldnt Jianzhu be pronounced with a soft g like zhu li not a j sound
Actually zh in Pinyin is more like a j than a soft g. You can hear the proper pronunciation of ‘zh’ when Iroh threatens Zhao at the North Pole.
The sad thing is that most are pronounced how the movie would have, and I had read almost all right.
When you didn't mess up majority of the pronunciation on your first read : 😎
Of course, for me, this is the official character name *spellings*.
Lao G
Many times the english pronunciation is the same with the German pronunciation. ❤️
Jianzhu sounded strange to my ears 😁
I always thought Jianzhu was Jiiiaun-shu
ive been saying yuhn and jee an zhu lmao
Thank you! Nice banner tho
How the fuck do you get jenju from Jianzhu
Traditional spelling in Corbin languages are different compared to English. Usually names like jianzhu can have the j sound instead of a sound. It’s a little confusing🥲
Love this
THANK U SO MUCH
Lao GO???
Thank u
NO! its pronounced:
1. RanJEE
2. KelsAAng
3. JianZUUU
4. Hi RAAN
5. and YUUn
You wound me with 2-4 😣
@@madelynnhennessy2483 but das hoe u say em
ah yes. Enslaved wrong
Pretty sure the person in this video is following the actual rules of the languages these names are based on
@@emerald9194 are you pretty sure about that or just saying that?
thank goodness i was reading Lao Ge's name properly the whole time. since the names have a somewhat chinese influence to them, i figured "Ge" would sound smth like "guh"
Omg My name is kelsang and that is how it is pronounced and learning about the avatar world that I am a huge fan of having a character with my name is seriously kind of blowing my mind! 🥲🥲
I've been pronouncing it like Rang-ji but OKAY FINE
