@@dedionware7526 looking at Korra haters, you can be CERTAIN that many people will look for tiny "plot holes" like this to have reasons to hate new entries to the series
Korra was never bad at communicating with her past lives she's just not a spiritual Avatar in the early seasons because of where she grew up. She was kept locked in her home tribe when she was a toddler until she was a teenager. She was there all the time thanks to her recent past life, Avatar Aang, who ordered the white lotus to keep her protected. That made her nearly a prisoner it wasn't her personal choice, her past lives did. Lastly, Korra was the most spiritual Avatar who walked on Earth, even surpassing the first Avatar. Remember in Season 2 when she fought the dark Avatar? That was her alone, no Raava, just pure spirit. Korra achieves Atman there. There's a very long explanation to that ATMAN thing so it's better to search for it on your own.
I really hope the new Earth Avatar series is a lot more spiritual in theme tries to reconnect with the past lives somehows since that's such a large part of the series and would follow the trend of Avatars fixing their past lives' problems.
I used to like when avatar went spiritual with the face stealer, moon spirit, guardian of the library and such...i shudder to think they'd go that route nowadays. They'll cheapen the spirit world further...😰
Sometimes content droughts aren’t bad. Everyone always wants more, until they get it and it doesn’t take them back to their childhood. If they’re doing this out of actual passion, then I’m down. If it’s because the ATLA has come back into the spotlight and they want a cash grab, leave it alone.
I share that sentiment some things should be left as they are but we'll see how things go. I just thought that the shows are fine. I just hope this upcoming avatar series isn't going the DB combat route with massive laser beams and attacks.
Honestly, as far as worldbuilding goes, I'm kinda worried about the Avatar series that takes place after Korra's timeline. I mean, how do you beat/overcome ALL the stuff that happened in Korra? What direction could they possibly go in after a giant mech using a Death Star Lazer that opened up a whole spirit portal 😅 I didn't agree with a few of the story beats in Korra, personally, but the biggest issue I have with it is that the show basically makes a sequel even more ridiculous to ponder.
It will apparently be more cyberpunk heavy and futuristic technology will be all over the place. Which sounds like if all else fails, the nonbender of the team could be a saving grace.

I agree with you about the paraplegic thing. Like it sounds almost like they’re making them paraplegic to tick a box. What I -hope- they do, is the avatar starts off… uhh… fully limbed? Then when they’re practicing Earth Bending, an accident happens (crushed?) where they lose two of their limbs. Then the Avatar maybe starts off using prosthetics, but deals with all sorts of issues and drawbacks with those. So then they try to use their bending to augment themselves and replace their missing limbs that way, but then that also doesn’t feel quite right. Then there’s a third group who has accepted life without the missing limbs and have found ways to work around it. Each time they try a new thing, there should be a group of people who have decided on that path forward and it works -for them-, but the Avatar struggles to find which path best suits -them-, that way there’s no, “xyz group is awful and only this other group’s way of thinking is correct!” Kind of thing going on. In addition to trying to figure out that situation, maybe they regress in earth bending a bunch since that’s what caused them to lose their limbs? Similar to how Aang refused to fire end after burning Katara. Then after going on a journey, they eventually work through the trauma and are able to relearn earth bending.
@@monsiuergeneral2080 “Groups” eh? I know it sounds predictable but she should lose her limbs or maybe the ability to use them well? Should happen because of a conflict or some sort of sabotage
tbh I just really wanted to see a sanbending avatar. It will be disappointing if she's just a regular earthbender. And wealready got more than enough metalbending in korra
@@intergalactic92if by "well established" you mean 2 characters total. One of which isn't even an occurring character or a bender for that fact. Not to mention this is the Avatar we're talking about. The one that's supposed to master the 4 elements of bending. The Avatar is simply to important to allow for any kind of disability. So it's just a bad idea.
I think it would make more sense the next earth avatar be a male, cuz the last earth avatar was a female, and the air avatar was male cuz the air avatar before him was female, so it would make more sense the earth avatar be male, right?
The issue with this is that the fire avatar before Roku was also a man. So the reincarnation cycle doesn't seem to work like that. However, personally, male or female, so long as the character and the story is good then the gender doesn't matter.
There's 2 males and 2 females per cycle, the cycle starts in fire because of Avatar Wan, so the last cycle started with Roku (male) followed by Aang (male) and the Korra (female) and the next Avatar (female)
I still don't think the cycle works that way, as reincarnation is a tricky business. On an average it makes sense that there would be two of each gender per turning of the cycle; given that it's really just a coin flip, a 50-50, on whether or not a child will be born male or female. However, a coin may land on its head 3 times out of 4, so we can't really say.
5:15 a lot of of us were hoping for a male avatar because the pattern! Male Airbender, female water bender, male earth bender, female fire bender.. meant to mirror the previous cycle which was female, male, female, male.. it would’ve been really nice to see these roles in different dynamics with the different genders.😢
I honestly don't think we'll be getting a traditional cyberpunk setting for Avatar. Technology would have developed rapidly but with how intertwined Spirits are now, it's gonna be a whole different type of world and history. Also I think Korra already focused a lot on technology so it'd be nice to see that being a background setting while other themes are explored rather than the rapid development of new tech being the focus again.
5:14 technically there are 3 female Avatars we know of (Yangchen, Kyoschi and Korra) and 4/5 males (Won, Kuruk, Roku and Aang there are more on the Wiki but other then other then Szeto the fire avatar before Roku they aren't even shown on screen). Yangchen and Kyoschi each have more cannon stories then Won, Kuruk and Setzo combined. Also the new Avatar has a connection to Korra so she could make a appreance.
@@oida10000 Yeah but they said it in the context of them having a connection to korra (Which I thought it was meant as a blood connection and not a spiritual connection, my bad), and to me that meant like seeing her talk with the new avatar
There’s 4 of female avatars we know of. You forget avatar Zalir of the fire nation (Roku novels) And yes there’s 5 guys. This includes avatar Gun of the earth nation
Ngl, the new Avatar being paraplegic worries me a little bit. I really hope they can create a kickass story around that fact like they did with Toph or Ming-Hua but if it's there for the sake of just representation, that'd be a bit dissapointing. We've already gotten so many well written disabled character in the show so I'm remaining hopeful.
@@minty9245 There's having diversity and representation and then there's pandering. Having the Avatar herself being paraplegic feels a bit like the latter and I REALLY hope this aspect of her doesn't take over too much of the main story.
Avatar is the last series to ever be accused of not being "inclusive" given it's very diverse and very likable cast. Toph was blind but she didn't even seem bothered by it. If anything the people around her were the ones going on about it. Ming-Hua's disability was even mention we just saw her being a badass. Given modern writing and sensibilities I worry about this new avatar reminding us ever 30 seconds that she is paraplegic or characters telling her how great she is. I hope it's more of a Toph situation.
A female avatar that’s paraplegic sounds really interesting. I wonder if it will make her a unique and powerful earth bender like toph was, or if they will make it a real hurdle that she struggles with. The big head animation part has me real worried though…
It seems to me that would be the second option. Most earth mages don't wear shoes for better connection to the earth. How would an Avatar who can't even feel his feet feel the earth? That would definitely be an obstacle and it's very interesting. The first Avatar who might have a problem with the element he/she was born with. Can't wait to see it.
@@mimusmortuis1633since it’s paraplegic and not quadriplegic, they could still have their legs but not have some portion of their arms. Or I suppose maybe missing one leg/one arm kind of like Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist.
@@joemomma6317 I might agree with that if this wasn’t avatar we were talking about. Avatar already has included paraplegic characters in the past, the most rememberable being korra during her recovery, but others like teo have appeared as well. They have already been inclusive of that community so it’s not like they get extra “inclusion points” from doing that again. The other thing is that in the avatar universe we tend to see the story of characters first and foremost. So I think the creators will go in the direction of how being paraplegic adds to the character and the uniqueness of their journey and struggle, rather than just having it be a characteristic that’s simply included but doesn’t make any real difference in the story. We’ll have to see how they handle it though.
I want the new Avatar to be blind just like Toph Beifong. Just imagine how he'll do Airbending the Blind Way. Like he will use sounds and vibrations to do Airbending.
A paraplegic avatar sounds interesting yet difficult to pull off due to martial arts being important to the avatar universe. I will interested to see what they come up with. I think they will be able to do it considering they've had other disabled characters before.
Not hating; but im curious as to the sudden trend in making spin off Animes of SUPER popular shows that have the characters drawn as Kids (DB Daima/SB) or the big head and short body theme... ?
I mean this report of the Pre-School show isn't new, it's just the big head report sounds like it could be related to that show. For all we know, the idea has been shelved. I feel like Daima is different from Avatar because they made all of them kids, but in Avatar it's a show for little kids which likely wouldn't connect to the continuity of the other projects.
I’ve talked about the cover art for the Ashes of the Academy comic before and what strikes me is the Zuko and Mai are posing away from each other rather than towards each other (which would indicate a mutual attraction or connection). They’re not even posing directly towards Kiyi, which would indicate a partnership working towards the same goal. In my mind, this Mai comic might be a bit of a “final nail on the coffin” towards her feelings for Zuko, and the two of them can finally admit that any relationship they may have wanted will never work. … which is fine, because Mai was never really into the regal palace life anyway and she deserves her own purpose and a badass awesome story arc in ATLA, just like Zuko and his destiny to be Fire Lord.
I did NOT know about the Avatar fighting game coming out next year. That legit sounds AWESOME. And as far as the expanded lore goes for Team Avatar, I really hope they fix the broken relationship between Zuko and Mai. One of Bryke's greatest blunders in handling their content in my opinion was breaking those two up in the comics. It doesn't make sense with their characters. Mai, a non-bender was willing to stand up to one of the most potently powerful and terrifying benders of their time, Azula, simply because she "loves Zuko more than she fears" Azula. You don't just break up characters like that.
It's going to be fun to see how the new avatar is going to handle having only Korra in her corner (the Avatar State). I can imagine the two fighting each other in the Avatar State because earth bending is all about holding your ground and not surrendering control until the very end, and Korra is equally feisty. I can see the two fighting like Katara and Toph in the og series.
Legend of Genji Comic never should've been cancelled but, given the thinly veiled alegory of Sand Benders being similar to Palestinian & Or Chinese Ughur. Its obvious VIACOM crapped themselves when it dawned on them AIPAC would skin them alive.
i hope the earth avatar will be a sand bender with a culture loosely based on arab culture, with a city based on smthn like dubai since it's based on our present time
@@mr.dystopian5554Exactly. Also it’s a bit too niche for the general public. A metal bender from Zao Fu would match better with the cyberpunk aesthetic. But apparently that’s not what they’re going for.
Ngl, I'm more excited about the game than the next TV series. Korra already got too futuristic for my tastes and I don't even know what to think of the next series. Expanding the story of an unknown past life that's so far in between anything we've seen before is really interesting to me. Also feels more thematically aligned with what I loved most about ATLA's world.
It may be a long wait However I’ll just hope there be some difference and choices in this series then from Legend of Korra. But if it will be darker and more serious then that’s fine
I wish they'd stop messing with the classic. The voice actors are what made Aang, Katara, Sokka, Zuko , Azula, Toph and Uncle so great. The original is now reaching new generations. I watched it with my kids and now ny grandkids.
I would like to think that the next Avatar will only have a connection to Korra, if Korra's spirit decides to make itself known at all. And I think it would be a very interesting dynamic to explore... What will Korra's reputation become after she dies and the next Avatar becomes apparent? What became of Zaheer, and the Red Lotus? And what's the dealio with the spirit world after Korra? So many things were happening during Korra's lifetime, I'm not sure what to really expect for the next Avatar.
Well, if you watch towards the end, I did go over another upcoming comic. I was just talking more in terms of movies, shows. The media appeals to all fans and keeps things going. The novels are really the only thing keeping the fandom alive right now, as the comics are just short stories as of late.
AtLA was a lightning in a bottle show. After the continuous trainwrecks since, I have zero faith that new avatar content will be good. I’m not excited at all.
in korra, the gaang grown up were all cast differently from those who played them when they were younger and no one cared. the only reason why ppl are whining about the casting now is because it’s attached to race. like the gaang is all grown up, it makes sense for their voices to change drastically from when they were 12/14/15. y’all would have not had a problem if they had recast the voice actors and they were all still white. please grow up.
I'm not gonna watch it purely because of how much I hate that they didn't cast the original cast for the voices, from what I've heard they've said they'd be willing to return so I'm really pissy about it and I despise it. It feels like they cast people based on race rather than skill and I don't support that shit.
Exactly, I've mostly grown apathetic of this. Fans have _easily_ made better concepts than this stuff, like a Sandbender Avatar, Avatar twins that each share two of the bending elements, even an idea where the protagonist is actually the Dark Avatar.
I've heard this song and dance before. No way am I going to support any of this. Avatar ended in the episode titled "Avatar Aang" and there is no sequels, comics, retcons, or books. Edit: my bad, there are no movies nor retellings either.
Why they wanna be so woke 🤦🏾♂️ a paraplegic avatar??? How would that even work or make sense. Them recasting all the OG characters to be more inclusive already turned me off. Love representation in media but don’t force it.
i dont even want to watch this movie without the OG voices. they changed them PURELY for brownie points/clout and politics. Zuko stayed the same CUZ DANTE IS ASIAAAAAAN, EVEN THO. Dante is NOT japanese looking AT ALL and zuko/fire nation is clearly japanese inspired. the bias from the avatar creators is so overwhelmingly obvious. its gross. mind you, im not against actors being cast based on the ethnicity of their character they portray but the issue here is that avatar is an established franchise. by not using the original cast they are absurdly in the wrong in my humble opinion. especially keeping dante as zuko is super biased. if they changed the others they SHOULD HAVE changed dante/zuko as well.

I have a theory about the avatars So we know that that the air bending Avatar before Aang is Yangchen And the one before Korra is Kuruk, wo the probability of the next Avatar which would be an earth bender would be a man.
Interesting stuff. Anybody know if Azula is going to be in the movie? Haven't heard anyting about her VA being in the movie but I'd be disappointed if she doesn't appear. Azula's character is one of biggest loose ends. Even in last comic she was in she just kind of ran away and we don't know what happened after that.
Yeah I haven't heard much but I'm hoping if we don't get her in a movie that we get a full story exploring her more. Azula in the spirit temple was solid but we need something that takes her character in a new direction.

Bryke don't like the past avatar connection anymore.
I used to like when avatar went spiritual with the face stealer, moon spirit, guardian of the library and such...i shudder to think they'd go that route nowadays. They'll cheapen the spirit world further...😰
Oh you mean fix Korra's season 2 f*ck up? Sure why not if this next avatar does that something tells me they'll be extremely likable.
@@TheMrPeteChannelWhich is dumb AF. That is what made the story special.
what i want to know is the world-building setting. how futuristic is it gonna be for the Avatar world?
Sometimes content droughts aren’t bad. Everyone always wants more, until they get it and it doesn’t take them back to their childhood. If they’re doing this out of actual passion, then I’m down. If it’s because the ATLA has come back into the spotlight and they want a cash grab, leave it alone.
I share that sentiment some things should be left as they are but we'll see how things go. I just thought that the shows are fine.
I just hope this upcoming avatar series isn't going the DB combat route with massive laser beams and attacks.
I’m a new avatar fan and I’m excited to see more of it
Good thing you didn't go through the drought of Content.
it's nice that they'll make games exploring the past avatars it's a nice ways to expand the lore
well they have already made several novels, 2 each for Kiyoshi, Yangchen and Roku
Same way they beat/overcame all the stuff that happened in last air bender.
It will apparently be more cyberpunk heavy and futuristic technology will be all over the place. Which sounds like if all else fails, the nonbender of the team could be a saving grace.
@@darkdragonmedeus705Where did you get that info?
Not necessarily. The way Korra ended, it seemed the world was heading for a more spiritually attuned civilization.
@@vetarlittorf1807 Some random articles I read, wouldn't hold them fullproof, but at the same time. I do expect more Soft Sci-Fi stuff compared to what we seen before.
3:35 I hope she’s a good enough actress to do a Toph
4:53 don’t yell at me but I wish she were male (it’s because the last earth kingdom avatar was female)
Paraplegic? Ehh.. I’m not..a fan. I see where they were going for. But it doesn’t feel right here. Just me?
Disabilities are well established in the Avatarverse. I don’t see why it would be a problem in the slightest.
tbh I just really wanted to see a sanbending avatar.
Come on guys. It's gonna be star wars all over again. You already know!
*The new Avatar Free Roam set 7000 years ago sounds promising…*
Oh yeah the most exciting news recently for sure.
I can't wait for the new avatar.
Yeah same we've waited too long for this.
Cyberpunk city should definitely be a season long destination arc.
I can't wait to see new Avatar content in 2026! 🤩
I like the adult toph voice in korra
An appearance?
You do know that the next avatar is born after the last one dies, right?
Yeah I know I'm talking about back to back avatars.
@@FactswithKat Didn't stop Roku from having air time in ATLA despite being canonically dead.
@@oida10000 Yeah but they said it in the context of them having a connection to korra (Which I thought it was meant as a blood connection and not a spiritual connection, my bad), and to me that meant like seeing her talk with the new avatar
There’s 4 of female avatars we know of. You forget avatar Zalir of the fire nation (Roku novels)
And yes there’s 5 guys. This includes avatar Gun of the earth nation
cl i hope that the new avatar gang is good and intresting with good character development cause korras gang was kinda lackluster
Pandering.
It sounds like a horrible idea in an attempt to be inclusive
@@joemomma6317 I know right!
About Damn Time!
I want the new Avatar to be blind just like Toph Beifong. Just imagine how he'll do Airbending the Blind Way. Like he will use sounds and vibrations to do Airbending.
3:26 ERIC NAM 😂 WHAT
A paraplegic avatar sounds interesting yet difficult to pull off due to martial arts being important to the avatar universe. I will interested to see what they come up with.
I think they will be able to do it considering they've had other disabled characters before.
Literally so excited like 2025 is gonna be so fun with teasers and news and everything coming out as time goes on like omg
BEYOND hyped for the Avatar fighting game, I’m maining Kyoshi and Suki forsure
Appreciate the shoutout!
Of course! Thank you for working so hard to get us these great details. :)
It's going to be fun to see how the new avatar is going to handle having only Korra in her corner (the Avatar State). I can imagine the two fighting each other in the Avatar State because earth bending is all about holding your ground and not surrendering control until the very end, and Korra is equally feisty. I can see the two fighting like Katara and Toph in the og series.
so incredible that they're casting an actual person of first nation heritage to voice Katara. m night shyamalan could never
Yes!!!!!!!!!!
“Avatar genji is a fan made character he’s not coming” it broke my heart 😢
I love Avatar series
Legend of Genji Comic never should've been cancelled but, given the thinly veiled alegory of Sand Benders being similar to Palestinian & Or Chinese Ughur. Its obvious VIACOM crapped themselves when it dawned on them AIPAC would skin them alive.
That would be fun for the fans to watch read and play
october 10? nice my perfect birthday gift!
The Disrespect in them they didn't even mention suki and kyoshi in legend of korra it's too sad
i hope the earth avatar will be a sand bender with a culture loosely based on arab culture, with a city based on smthn like dubai since it's based on our present time
Genji was already like that, so they'll probably want to distance themselves from that story.
@@mr.dystopian5554Exactly. Also it’s a bit too niche for the general public. A metal bender from Zao Fu would match better with the cyberpunk aesthetic. But apparently that’s not what they’re going for.
I hope the creators are given the appropriate amount of seasons to develop the story which they didn’t get with Korra
We'd BETTER get this new stuff then. It's just been such a long wait, and it just got LONGER!
Well...Dave "The Animal" Batista is the inspiration for "Combustion Man" after all.
it'd be really sad to not have the connection to other benders again after Korra :(( i really missed that part in LOK
It may be a long wait
However
I’ll just hope there be some difference and choices in this series then from Legend of Korra. But if it will be darker and more serious then that’s fine
Let’s go 😎👍
I wish they'd stop messing with the classic. The voice actors are what made Aang, Katara, Sokka, Zuko , Azula, Toph and Uncle so great. The original is now reaching new generations. I watched it with my kids and now ny grandkids.

Batista voices Sparky Boom Boom man.
The most expensive grunts ever
I would like to think that the next Avatar will only have a connection to Korra, if Korra's spirit decides to make itself known at all. And I think it would be a very interesting dynamic to explore... What will Korra's reputation become after she dies and the next Avatar becomes apparent? What became of Zaheer, and the Red Lotus? And what's the dealio with the spirit world after Korra? So many things were happening during Korra's lifetime, I'm not sure what to really expect for the next Avatar.
If anyone has a quest 2 or 3 I’d recommend majitec vr it is like avatar and developing multiplayer

Just when I wanted to die, avatar saves me once again.
I think the new avatar should live in Ba Sing Se. I dont know why, but Ba Sing Se just seems pretty good for it.
I think what they should really do is make more Avatar and Korra comic's.
I think the january release date will stick. Its the best time to release it bc of no competition.
For the earth avatar series I doubt it will happen but if it does a part of me doubts it will be any good
So, they are going full woke for avatar 3?
I hope this still leaves room for him to appear in the OPLA.... fingers crossed
“At the moment we have absolutely nothing”
New comics and Novels
Well, if you watch towards the end, I did go over another upcoming comic. I was just talking more in terms of movies, shows. The media appeals to all fans and keeps things going. The novels are really the only thing keeping the fandom alive right now, as the comics are just short stories as of late.
I love the disabled characters in avatar so a paraplegic avatar sounds fun, wonder if shell learn to metal bend her fake leg or have one out of rocks
Yeah I hope so honestly
3:47 why? He’s not old enough 😂to
To be frank if they think that Dante Bosco is still able to play Zuko … what were the other 2 actors unavailable?
Though it will be a change I can’t wait to hear the new VA
AtLA was a lightning in a bottle show. After the continuous trainwrecks since, I have zero faith that new avatar content will be good. I’m not excited at all.
in korra, the gaang grown up were all cast differently from those who played them when they were younger and no one cared. the only reason why ppl are whining about the casting now is because it’s attached to race. like the gaang is all grown up, it makes sense for their voices to change drastically from when they were 12/14/15. y’all would have not had a problem if they had recast the voice actors and they were all still white. please grow up.
I guess, but Mae Whitman's could still work well in the animated movie,
They better not mess the movie up this time
Eric Nam!? Oh wow! ... Don't understand what would be to bad about that though. That he hasn't acted before? He is a singer after all
If it's going to be all about tech and go all Gundam Wing on us, I can't be made to care.
Ughhhh just let it die plssss
Pro tip, watch the dragon prince.
I've seen it and it's good but I like Korra more.
Azula needs a series
Agreeeeee
Would rather just have a series with the gaang and how they rebuild peace and restore balance. And introduce new original and great characters, too.
I knew it would be a female avatar after Korra.
Its not confirmed. And they shouldn't go that route

EEEK such a time to BE ALIVE

Would have loved to see em do kenji
i dont even want to watch this movie without the OG voices. they changed them PURELY for brownie points/clout and politics.
Oh, you said the Artist Eric Nom. I’m still waking up at 6:06 AM; I thought you said the Actor Erik Todd Dellums . . .
Yeah, I think they should bring back Erik Todd Dellums, he would a terrifying threat to *face* . . . ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! 😆
The new Avatar would still be able to communicate with Korra.
I hope she bring back the previous avaters form won to korra
I have a theory about the avatars
So we know that that the air bending Avatar before Aang is Yangchen
And the one before Korra is Kuruk, wo the probability of the next Avatar which would be an earth bender would be a man.
Yea that would make more sense
You're never going to get another male Avatar because of wokeness
The fire avatar before Roku was a man called Szeto I think. So the theory doesnt fully work
Interesting stuff.
