I wish they did this without narrator and just voiced the dialogue between the characters. I hope they make a Kyoshi TV show based on the books. And if they do I hope they don’t cut out the violence and blood, because Avatar is supposed to be a kids show, so I feel as if they would cut out the part where blood spurts out of Kelsang’s neck if this scene was a TV show, if they make a TV show of this I don’t want it to be kid friendly, I want it to be exactly how it is in the book, so it would most likely be rated 12 or possibly 15.
Jianzhu really was one of the most clever of Avatar villains. He never tried to fight an Avatar head on, and hit deep in the Earth the second they started glowing to think and plot once again.
I think the confusion stems from "his head bounced lifelessly off the ground", meaning it was still attached to his body but he bounced when he smacked into the ground. You can tell from the "flake of flint, no longer than an inch" being too small to decapitate, and the "finger length cut" on the side of his neck that Jianzhu just severed his carotid artery, making Kelsang lose consciousness near instantly from the sudden drop in blood pressure (and Kelsang was already bleeding from the injuries Tagaka gave him)

Chopping a whole head off would just be "brutal" not precise and for it to be swift he would need more than a finger length size of 'rockblade' that would have to be a huge axe blade of some sort.
When I first read this I never thought zhenzhu fully decapitated kelsang , I missed the part where his head bounces off the ground, I guess I was totally glossed over this part, I'm freaking out !!!
No, though the phrasing is confusing at this part, the whole description of him bleeding from finger length cut definitely means his head was still fully attached, the phrasing of “head bounced off the ground” was simply referring to his head bouncing up slightly when it hit the ground, when he you know fell on it unconsciously

This is very well done! My only complaint is that Jianzhu didn't take Kelsang's head clean off, he just sliced his neck.
