(I wondered if maybe by connecting the grey twin turrets/ handle bars on a 2x2 single open stud, they could be rotated down into a landing mode so the ship could be displayed without a trans-clear pillar? - maybe even adding a 2x2 slope on top of the single handle bar piece to regain the original length.)

As someone who had the original Blacktron set for many years, and only recently let it back into the wild, I think this is a great improvement from the original set. I definitely like how the wings arch downward when in flight mode. The old finger hinges don't exactly have a quality to life like modern hinges too. The bulbous canopy is a sensible upgrade to this ship, in much the same way the canopy was updated for the Blacktron Cruiser: smooth yet exaggerated. Good job Nitron!

Awesome video as always. On a sidenote: i really like the sort of organic/bug vibe this spaceship has, it is really lovely (in a slightly gross way).

Holy CRAP that 2018 Nexo Knights VTOL fits in perfectly with Blacktron 2… well, aside from the lack of Sulfurix’s trans lime green, but still.
Actually, I threw it in to give a good idea of what a Blacktron 3 might've looked like if the line just kept getting greener.

Oooh I've actually been assembling my own wee redesign of this ship myself. Mine isn't quite as impressive, but I'll see what I can learn from this to improve my own. I will say, I am a fan of the geometric design and I'd love to see a resurgence of those more angular designs

If I created a mod upgrade from the original set, I would actually incorporate elements not just for more modularity, But also more interior engine detail. I guess you can thank Claw Digger from Power Miners and Rey's Speeder from Star Wars for my fascination in greebling as a feature. I would incorporate a similar play feature to Rey's Speeder into the hull of the ship, twisting a thruster to push the panels open for repairs or extra cargo space. It wouldn't increase the width of the hull by much, but it would give it greater value and play scenarios.

Why does TVTropes have a page for Lego Rewind but not Planet Ripple?
I assume because the Lego Rewind page was created/is maintained by a couple of Lego Rewind fans, and there just has yet to be a Planet Ripple fan who also happens to be a TVtropes.... person.
I just had an idea, about we make a them around space ships with interchangeable parts similar to the black tron remakes.
This makes me ask if youd attempt an insectoids moc or rock raiders one

Cool mod, I missed out on Blacktron but hope it makes a comeback someday. Here's an idea for a Lego Rewind episode if it interests you: "American" Lego. There have been a lot of Lego sets like "Screaming patriot", "Patriot jet", the Statue of Liberty set from 2000, but if there aren't enough sets of the type to make a whole Lego Rewind of, that's understandable.
