Thats a nice Kit bro-
Hi Dan,
For one, I would change the glass vial. You get similar ones in metal and plastic. I'd use those.
You can throw in a small neodymium magnet for the needles to be held (and everything else that attracts magnets).
Atb
The Solo Hiker....
Too expensive for me, but glad to see this still on your website 4 years later.
Now you’ll have to make a video using all these pieces of kit.
i second that emotion.
Third
Fifth 🤩👍🌟🌟
would be cool to see the kit in play , in the field.
I use dental floss for thread in my kits. It is cheap and stronger than cotton or poly thread and thin enough to thread on most medium and large needles. I also make my own lune sticks by pouring fixin wax into old chapstick tubes and small altoids tins.
Getting gear together and packing to me is about as much fun as the Hunt it's nice to know your prepared nothing to worry about
Cool little kit Dan. Thanks for sharing I will check it out
I bought one of these a few months ago, added his small diamond/ceramic sharpening stone along with a few other items. Love it.
Looks good! Nice job. I foresee one of these in my pack soon...!
I got one ordered. Supposed to be getting it tomorrow. I can't wait.
Good looking kit Dan
Wow! What a great kit! I’ll be buying one!
ERRAH! Teufel Hunden.
You have a nice bag Dan!!! :>)>
Very cool kit.
Very nice kit. I like it!
Thats a sweet kit, brother!
Slick kit Dan👍
Looks great!
Nice kit
You covered a lot. Cool.
Is a glass vial the best/safest way to keep your needles in a bag that also has heavy blunt metal tools in it?
I'd replace the glass (which is really cool and bushcrafty) with a plastic vial or maybe just pin them to something I can roll up.
Last thing you want is to put your hand in there to grab something and slice your fingers with shadderdd glass ... can ruin your whole outing . U can use some old looking cigar tube instead of glass
It’s on my wish list!
sweet products!
I like the kit and I just was playing with my kit Dan are you watching me
Great kit, out of stock right now, please save one for me in the next run.
NICE! 👍
Nice...😎👏
You might want to add a stick of hot melt glue.
A hot rock will melt it for the application.
Gulf Wax, or Bees Wax will water proof things, and keep ax heads from rusting. AND I keep a couple of single use super glue tubes for first aid, and other things.
Thanks for sharing your videos. And keep up the good work.
1:35 the twisted awl how hard would it be to make it a tapered square profile like a reamer?
I’ve got a pair of scissors like that they are awesome
You do have alot of good tools and alot of great knowledge th share. But do you haver a book where all this comes together ... on the point ... in a way so i can read it?
Just Bought one!
That would be a great stocking stuffer.....
Gear lube - could you use a tube of lip balm for the same result? Thanks for sharing. Cheers from Montreal QC
I was just checking that out on the website
Could you make a video with some repair techniques?
Veary cool
Prof, you need to create an urban version, for those of us into citycrafting.
Interesting concept so what would you consider for such a kit:
Lock picks/bypass tools
Asst. Zip ties
Multi bit screwdrivers
Security bits
Duct tape
Electrical tape
Small crescent wrench
Lg crescent wrench
Needle nosed pliers
Channel lock pliers
Flat pry bar
Rip/claw hammer
Meh just the top o my head what do you think? Oh one of those devices used to check for live circuits not a multimeter...ah anybody?
@@SpamMusubi308 that's about rite.
@@SpamMusubi308 4 way water key 2
Boom a silcock key there ya go!
Really like this kind of stuff I can't find any gear that's "traditional" other than your site
Justin Guerrera try Townsends
Nice *housewife* you designed there 🤩👍🌟🌟
No Beeswax ? No ducttape? No buttons? Thimble? minipliers? scissors?
Will the bag hold a "SPEEDY STITCHER" along with the other stuff ?
Speedy stitcher is awesome for shoe repair.
Is the tool oil food safe?
Is the tool oil food safe? My apologies if someone else has already asked this, I didnt see it while scanning the comments.
Cool someone thinking ahead so about the oil... could we swap it out for food grade mineral oil? And the lip balm thingy is that food grade too?
@Kali Southpaw mineral oil is what I carry now in my kit. I used it on my knife and my axe.
"I use gear lube on everything."
Everything? Evvvvverything??
Does the tool oil cause your high carbon blades to not br able to strike a spark on flint? I treated a high carbon blade with some oil, ( 3 in 1, I think) and it will no longer get a spark from flint.
Chad, oil wouldn’t change the metal compounds. You can’t get a spark because the oil is covering the metal wipe off the oil and you will get spark. I never heard or seen this and I oil my gear up all the time. Also total side note. If you have char cloth why wouldn’t you just carry a striker? Your spine is too valuable to be getting hacked apart by using a flint to make sparks.
@@coalcracker - the high carbon blade was a Wetterling axe. I do use a lot of oil. I have practiced various methods ( including char cloth and striker) so that I have the skill but usually use a bic lighter😁. This may be an indication that I need to practice primitive skills more.
Are you out of stock? I went to your web site and was not able to put in basket.
Sold out when will it be restocked?
