I’ve had my betta for 4 months now and he just started flaring a little over a week ago out of no where. It’s really bothering me because he looks like Jeepers Creepers when he does it. He has a mean flare! His fins stretch all the way when he does it and it creeps me out ☹️ This is my first betta fish so I had no idea his face could transform. He does it when I put my face close to the tank or walk pass. But I’m not doing anything differently.
Well, for me my betta also flares as a sign of curiosity whether i am going to feed him or not 🤣. It is ok to flare and that also means happy if you keep him in larger tank rather than a bowl but if keeping him in a bowl than that flare mean he was being threatened to see you as enemy
Same here. I’ve had my female for about 4-5 months and lately she flares all the time. I have her in a 5 gallon tank with a mystery snail she ignores and 3 tiny baby guppies (she also ignores) she swims around flaring.. I’m worried she’s not happy?!
my betta started building his bubble nest and has also flared at my finger a few times since he started, is he just territorial about his little bubbles maybe?
My betta fish is flaring at me but I’ve had him for more than 2 months now and nothing has changed. He has a nice 5 gallon tank, plants, fed etc. Any thoughts why he flares at me? Territorial?
Mines too I just take it as he is comfortable and protecting his space. He also follows me side to side he swims towards my voice. I'm a source of food to him lol I love it ❤
Hey there! Thank you for posting this! Its been almost a month since I brought my 2 betta fish along with other 2 carp fish. The carp fish are very playful. But I have noticed a few days ago, that one of mine betta fish fins and tails are tearing apart and other betta fish which is perfectly fine always chases the other weak one, at first I thought it's fungus infection...but now seeing this video I doubt. Could you please enlighten me whats wrong with it ? btw my koi carp fish doesn't disturb them at all. They are in their on world playing and racing.
I have a school of white cloud minnows and one of the fish keeps flaring and chasing the other fish, I’m a little worried. Is there something I can do? There are 6 in a 50 gallon, empty tank. I’m getting 8 more. Also the fish that’s keeps flaring seems like a male, I’ve tried sexing them and there seem to be 2 males to 4 females. It only seems like the smaller male that’s doing this, he also flares at his reflection. Is he trying to impress the females? All water parameters are good for them.
My betta fish started doing this and wiggling when I was looking at him a few minutes ago. It’s pretty scary and weird to watch not gonna lie but I’m glad there’s nothing wrong cause I thought he hurt his gills or something.
I have 2 betta fish and both of them are highly aggressive they're both in separate tanks and in different rooms, but that's not the problem, both of them get so stressed out from the reflection. They will sit at the bottom of the tank and gasp for air. And it's hard to fix it because I've tried everything, not using the light in the aquarium, changing lights and using aquarium backgrounds and nothing is working please help
My Betta fish's colours are fading a little He isn't too old, nor that he isn't fed properly, I don't know if he's stressed or not, he isn't responding like before, he's not even eating now, can you pls help me with this? I'm concerned Update: Winter❄️ died.. RIP my beautiful friend
@@itzjiji4life ohhhh noooo!!!! I'm so sorry about your loss :( I almost killed mine once because I used tap water (I read somewhere on internet that tap water can be used after 24 hours if you leave it standing still) plus I was using a liquid to cure him from fungus but I put too many drops. He ia doing good now. For most part of my problems google its being a lot of help.
@@heeypunk ah, my friend is an expert at taking care of Bettas, I wanted to order a 5 gallon aquarium for him, but he died the day before I could order it, he jumped out of his bowl, we saw him immediately and picked him up to put him back but he didn't survive
My betta started attacking the other fish in the aquarium (white tetra) ,the tetra wasn't bothering the betta or something,it was just eating and the betta decided to chase the tetra around. They lived together for more than 2 weeks and there was no problem so far but I just saw yesterday how the betta started to get aggressive to da tetra so I separated em
@@EverydayAquatics the aquarium is around 5 gallons. The tetra is a small one and didn't bother the betta, also there's a small snail in the aquarium. I made like a hiding place for the betta but he doesn't go there,I guess he isn't used that much to it because in the store where he was when I bought it ,there were no hiding places and the aquariums were overstocked
Hi I had left a new female Betta in my male Betta tank. Yesterday my male Betta seemed excited, he was building bubble nests after seeing her.. they seemed to be alright staying together.. . But today morning when I woke and I saw, my male became very sluggish has loss of appetite , and colour has turned pale. We have even shifted him to another bowl. He has still not recovered. But he is alive. Whereas the female Betta is doing well. Is there remedy to bring him back to normalcy.. If u r on instagram I can even send u the pics.
why is no one talking anout how absolutely underrated this is... this guy is hilarious, had me and husband laughing while looking at tips for our tank
there was a mirror a little to close to the tank and my betta saw himself and got a little bit over excited ...thank you for the video
i love your channel and the things you teach us are also very clear so keep up the good work
Thank you very much!

Got mine 5 days ago and he just started flaring at his reflection😂🤷🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ and then blows a bubble on the surface.
Same !
Yeah lots of bubbles lolz 😅 I do believe that means he's happy in his tank and the bubbles 🫧 are him saying I'm ready to be a father.
I really like your editing style, Keep it up! 👍

yeah, it is very common
What about flaring during breeding?

Betas are not recommended to be put together in a tank

I don't really have experience in white cloud minnows as they aren't betta, so can't really give suggestions.

My betta flares at everything, plants, reflections, even his pellet
Maybe that's its temperament, give it some time to see if that changes.

What's the size of the tank? It could be that the betta is stressed because its territory is 'invaded' or the betta has an aggressive temperament

@Monica's Ulagam!!! I think just give it some time to rest - and moving it to another tank is a good choice though.
