Recovering from narcissistic abuse takes time, so you will have to remain patient. This process could take months or even years, but it's worth all of the hard work and effort. You can and will move on to find healthier and happier connections with others.

Hi, love your content n been binge watching quite a lot of it, now ive got 1 question.
Can a narcissist, covert or traditional, feel ANY genuine empathy at all?
is it that in certain aspects such as lack of empathy there is a certain gray area, so that some narcissists can actually feel empathy to a certain degree, or is it all the way black n white.
or have I just been fooled by well timed acting?
also how many people are aware/know of the concept of covert narcissism?
Im wondering since there have been plenty red flags, and recently the person in question has recently brought this concept up herself without me even mentioning it during natural conversation.
She has gotten some diagnosis about her mental health in the past, but wont tell me what exactly it was due to her fear of me judging her/treating her differently.
At first I had confused her behaviour with BPD, but quite a few things just didnt check out at all, when I stumbled over covert narcissism, descriptions ive read and heard from people so far have described her so gdamn accurately its almost as if theyve met her personally.
I just want to help and understand her better, either way, thanks for all the great contents, helped me get a better understanding on the subject.
No, a narcissist cannot feel genuine, natural empathy. They can feel something that appears similar to empathy during the idealization stage when they look at their target an extension of themselves. This stage is temporary.
