Maybe this is a bit off topic but at the end when you said that your facility is getting away from GC3’s, I was wondering if the Mevo+ is a good enough instrument to fit people and teach people just as good as track man and GC quad? If so, why don’t people use the Mevo+ more, since it is a decent price for all that?

The numbers I have seen have been identical to all these devices. The big thing and we talked about as we are opening a second fitting bay, is that there is a stigma against smaller launch monitors. We are a Top 100 fitter and we feel if people came in and saw a small monitor it would negatively affect our image. For our teachers though we are looking at Mevo+ instead of getting more Trackman’s, that is literally the only reason we are getting a second Trackman, nothing to do with performance, only image.

@@scotthogangolf thank you for responding to my question. I recently bought a Mevo+ Limited Edition and I was wondering if they are good enough for fitting and learning more about getting my game to the best it can be. I appreciate the content.

Get a fiber built mat. If you strike before the ball it will eat your club and you will chunk it hard. It doesn’t bounce the club into the ball like standard mats.

I’ve tried those, they aren’t bad, if you’re really steep for sure it will stop the club. My mat you will feel the chunk as well. My point is you need more margin for error inside so when you transfer outside.

Scott, I've been struggling with hitting my 3 wood good on the simulator but I continually will top a shot outdoors. Would my low point be the issue you think?

I would look at your low point number yes, with a 3wood it should be maybe an inch in front to maybe even zero, but definitely not behind the ball. I also see a lot of people because they hit the ground first, start shortening their arms to avoid the ground and then they catch the top. So I'd look into that.

Have you ever tried one of those divot board inserts? I have one on my mat and it does a pretty decent job of regulating my low point, you get pretty punished for hitting it fat

I've tried it, I do think they can be good, I just also think I need to do a better job of focusing on the strike.

@@scotthogangolf Strike truly is king, shitty club path and face to path can still be functional with good strike eh

Practice of any kind on matts can ruin your low point, when you get on the course you hit everything fat. This is my concern on getting a simulator, I do not want to start hitting behind the ball off these mats, striking ahead of the ball is paramount to good iron play

If you keep your focus, and having the number really helps, but I just got complacent and lazy with it. It's been a focus the last few days and I feel very good about it. The positives way outweigh the negative but it is something to watch for.
