Jang is your main channel still demonetized? It makes me sad that this channel is so underrated! Your lego reviews are the best on youtube !!!
Thank you so much for your support 🙏 I've managed to claw back a little bit of the value of the old channel, but still almost nobody gets notified of new uploads there and the monetization rate is less than half what it is on this much smaller, newer channel.
@@JANGsLEGOreviews That stinks well im subbed to all your channels and will always support you, you're the true OG Lego youtuber on here. Jang is the best!
@@JANGsLEGOreviews I know youtube support is... quite frankly garbage, but have you tried drumming up a response from youtube with your fanbase?
@@JANGsLEGOreviews No need for notifications when I search up "jangbricks" everyday on my lunch break... lol ;)
I feel like Jang is my only go-to Lego review channel because he actually buys his own sets. No sponsored videos, no products that Lego sent for review. That way, he can actually say whenever a set is worth the money.
Same. The LAN reviewers can say they're impartial all they want but a lot of them seem too scared to complain and always try to be more positive even when the set might not be great. Sometimes they'll criticise but they also try to make sure they don't go too far and stop the freebies coming in
The movie itself was visually stunning and beautiful, I was mind-blown when I saw it in 2009 in 3-D as well, Lego did a great job on this set even if it is expensive, but not that much at least, I would love to get this set, can't wait to see what Lego will come up for future sets for the next movies, hopefully we won't wait 13 years to get those as well! LOL
I enjoy the pre-molded head. It’s a really nice design that needed to be captured well.
Im not a huge fan of these new Avatar sets but I love seeing the shrubbery and trees in such unique colors. I would love to just get the big tree from this set.
After building so many Ninjago dragons, feels like fabric wings woulda been better than the vinyl ones. Great reviews as always Jang!
For $150 for this, ALL of those pieces should have DEFINITELY glowed in the dark
wonder if the noses being printed on comes with the noses differentiating for each na'vi: jake's is a little less stout than neytiri's, a couple other members of the omaticaya have different noses, and ofc sigourney weaver's avatar nose is just a human one. it's a weird situation
Great review Jang! When you turned the figures around it reminded me of PS1 characters who had flat heads with their face graphic just pasted on top of it 😄
Now that we know a new LOTR waves is possible, I could definitely see this size/quantity of stuff set work really well for a Battle of Pelenor Fields set
1 “dragon” build
Alot of terrain
A good amount of figures
A horse or two
Reasonable price for what's in the box
I hope you'll still do the other Avatar sets :) even if it's next month or something. One of the most interesting themes in a while imo
I really do like the nature elements of this theme. Scifi plants in lego are a lot of fun
I wish they would have given the Jack Skellington Minifig these legs :¬/
Great review, as always, Jang
I love the vibrancy of these sets, less impressed by the facade look the terrain has; a lot of it looks like it's a stand first and then textured, which... is usually true! But idk... I just want terrain xD
I really really hope that the tall legs and arms keep getting made in other colors. Those parts in green would be great for a master chief minifig and other tall characters
Interesting how they incorperated Neural linking, and i hope that with the extra long minifigure legs coming back we'll see them be used for other characters outside the Avatar line
I wish they could've brought them back just a bit sooner so we could've got them for Jack Skellington and Big Bird
Personally I'm going to get the Mech set because I want the trans-neon green rocks for Rock Raiders mocs, but your review helped me see some value in the parts of this set! It really does look cool with all the colors and lights
Never even considered that for Rock Raiders mocs! That's a great idea.
It will be interesting to see Darth Maul with a glow-in-the-dark hilt!
I agree with you that cloth is better than vinyl and i would like to see more glow in the dark in general 😊
No matter how bad my day is, a new review makes it better.
You are literally the only Lego reviewer I trust
On the topic of the Navi minifigures, I think the chin that slopes down is weird, it should be level, and just have the head cylinder be slightly taller than a regular minifigure's. I also think the ears should have been dual molded as part of the hairpiece. As it is, these head molds won't be able to be used as anything besides Navi from avatar due to the unique shape. I would have liked them to have been designed more variable because I quite like the proportions of the body like this
The colors in this set are great! I believe I'll be getting all the Avatar sets over time. Might wait for some sets to go on sale, but this one definitely is a priority buy for me. I personally love how they did the Na'vi figures. It's going to be fun to link all the terrain builds together. Excellent review as always!
Not gonna lie that alien dragon looks kinda awesome 😆
Nose Molds
I'd imagine though, that having a molded-in nose would complicate the face printing
both for production, and graphic design. Real-life shadows mixing in with the printed details might look wierd
I'm very curious to see the hair of these new figures used on a regular minifig - I wonder if they work visually
i wonder if they gave up on a molded nose in order to have the more detailed face printing?
thanks for the thorough thoughtful review!
I like it... for $90. $150 is just silly. Spend an extra $20 and get The Legendary Flower Fruit Mountain. That set is fantastic. Also has 700 more pieces for the extra $20. I just wish that the heads were normal with a hair add on, more so if LEGO didn't bother molding the nose.
Just bear in mind when your comparing the prices that this set is post price increase so this would have been maybe $20 less than what it is.
I really love everything about those avatar figures; except the arms. I understand they needed a specific thickness for plastic consistency, but they just look waaaaay too thick for an Na’vi tribesman. That’s what throws me off, not the nose.
This really should be two sets. Most people (children, especially) will want this for the dragon, as usual.
Dear Jang, thank you for your reviews. They really show the models well, and I like how you try to be as objective as possible. Stay cool and be fit!
Besides the price coming down and cloth for the wings, the biggest thing I always want is articulation for the big critters.
I want to make my dragons curl up to sleep in a hoard of gold. The small white dragon from set 71718 Wu’s Battle Dragon is the closest we’ve gotten, just need better wing articulation on it.
So that leonopteryx is AWESOME. Almost enough to make me consider buying, but would absolutely need to find on sale somewhere/somehow.
I feel personally, that this Avatar theme should never ever be introduces to LEGO. Somehow it managed to be less LEGOish than Bionicle. The figures are wierd, that horse in this mold is wierd and the dragon as well. The designers did their best, but some things are just not compatible i guess.
I found your Lego elves reviews and absolutely loved them!! I think you’re my fave Lego reviewer! Glad to have found you and thanks for this review as well. New subscriber hype! 🎉 Love your voice
thank you for your review, i can't justify 150 for this set when all i like is the tree. maybe if i was an avatar fan i would have a different perspective
I think this set is quite pricey but it doesn’t seem very fun to play with so I guess it’s more of a display set. The whip pieces are awesome and I love when lego used it for a lamp, it’s a shame the tree leaves kinda bend inward which doesn’t look nearly as good
Can’t wait to get this!!! I really appreciate you reviewing it and look forward to seeing your Razor Crest review too 🎉🎉
Yeah the avatars look both good and kinda not at the same time. They should have either commited to having a molded nose with the print or no nose print at all. Still i kinda like them overall.
Honestly the only thing I dislike about the figures is the graphic design for the eyes. It feels extremely un-Lego-like, like the old Clone Wars fig Anime Eyes
I don't know why they'd do it, but I recall the newish reindeer/stag mold has the same sort of extra gap. Maybe to make it easier for kids to slot the legs in there? Or the extra space is there to help with the molding (ejecting/cooling) process? But now I'm really curious 🤔
Either way... thank you for the fantastic thorough review!
I still think if the naavi had small molded noses they would be a billion times better than they are
This used to be 150$ up here in Maple Leaf land but now they buffed it up to 200$ 💀
I'm looking at this as 2 for 1 set as the Toruk being a single set priced at £45 (as it's similar in size to Kai's Legacy Fire Dragon) and the Tree of Souls with the Landscape and cave formation being around £85 so the pricing makes sense but with this only having 4 figures the more i think about it this is overpriced but i still like the set. The builds look great i love the size and grandness of the Toruk and the variety and colourfulness of the fauna builds.
I'll pick up the First Flight well first and this second from the 1st movie as the 2nd movie has a few more i'd like to get.
It's funny that only the Navi and the indigenous people from the western line got noses from Lego. Another clear parallel between those 😅
Nice review! It's a pretty set, but pretty expensive as well. Well, it's Lego. Thanks for showing it!
They should have extended the skeleton of the rear wings to connect at the end of the blue tips, to hold them straight.
I am soon getting the Mech VS Cat and the Banshee sets alongside some Ninjago sets hopefully, then I will buy the big two sets of the theme.
Definitely worth revisiting Avatar in IMAX 3D while it’s still playing
I feel like the set needed more glow in the dark since SO much of Pandora is bioluminescent - At least it looks good in the video, I suppose!
I do love the look of the set but I will probably most likely end up passing. I don’t really have any connection to avatar, also the individual parts are beautiful. Great review as always, I always appreciate how honest and fair jang is.
I appreciate your reviews. It's absolutely quality content and for me it's the benchmark. ❤ Thanks Jang
Did you try putting a black light on the tree? Just to see what it would do?
the colors they use in these sets are awesome. i'd like to get these sets just for the pieces.
I would have bought the tree of souls alone. It would have made a more affordable and way more popular set!.
Yeah those parts do look like they would glow in the dark haha.
Wow it is really strange how the Navi have flat faces! I thought a nose wasn't sculpted in because LEGO might want to reuse it for something else... except the ears would preclude that. Unless LEGO is planning to reuse these heads and bodies to make the tall elves from Final Fantasy XI or XIV, which I highly doubt.
I do think they look good from the front though. I think a nose is ok since these are aliens.
Man, this set looks more like a $100 set than a $150 one! x_x
Looks pretty good, the price seems okay. Not the worst.
Those look like they could have been divided into two sets easily.
I can guess at reasons they weren't, but I do wonder what the cost benefit analysis looked like (assuming it was an idea that was considered even).
Avatar minifigure legs set a path to making true LEGO NBA minifigures in future
They used to be toy story legs back in 2010ish
Toruk should really be a separate set from the tree to keep the price down. The top technic and black candelabra parts stand out a bit too much on tree, would really the tree portion if those weren’t so obvious. At least Toruk looks solid with good size.
I'm loving these sets even though they are a bit overpriced. Wish we could've got a diorama set of the 2 Ikran flying. That was the most iconic scene to me and I'd love to have that in a more adult set that could be displayed with the Jurassic Park and Star Wars dioramas
Hey, Jang! Thank you for your reviews, they are a must watch for me, because sometimes, like u said, Lego really goes too far inasmuch as far as the box art is concerned and you show what the sets really look like)😊
This is a pretty cool set. I think it's good at $120.00.
Was that back panel the same kind of piece that was used for the faces of the build able Harry Potter and Hermione mini figs?
Nice!
Is this the first use of 3-stud legs since Woody and Josie from the first wave of Toy Story sets?
Oh the amounts I would pay to have a set of purely terrain from this movie
You can modify a Lego bonsai tree for a larger tree of souls
I love you Jang never stop 🙏
Would rather have some Last Airbender sets
Im getting not 1 but 2 of the amp sets and i have the halo pelican inbound set so ima make a stop motion of my own world and desighn theme it will be pretty awsome im hoping idrc if it does well im just excited to make it lol
The new prices in Germany are so ridiculous. The sets are released and already 20-30% off at most retailers which can’t be sustainable for smaller, independent sellers ultimately they will be not be able to sell lego anymore at these prices. Also don’t know who is suppose to be able to buy these extremely overpriced set at retail.
Great set slightly to expensive but really cool
I wish my area would be more likely to get discounts
King Jang a Jang Jang .😊👍 Oh yes so love this set. I put one the other avatar sets on lay buy to morning as only one left on the shelf $54 buck for it but got it for the 2 mini figs but the land scaping parts look good. Add .thay all so got one other set atm .but I whant this set. Then I get the other one that got in ..😊 I so love this tree glow in dark part cool 😊👍
Love it! I would get it if i werent broke
I like these new sets, definitely a little…strange, but hey, I like strange.
I’m a big Avatar fan and was really excited for this Lego theme. The Naavi figures are a deal breaker for me. Too goofy looking and too small relative to the minifigs. I think they should’ve done 18+ sets. Are there really many 12 year old fans of Avatar?
i NEED to bricks and pieces that tree
those minifigures are very similar to the toy story woody and jessie from 2010
i think these couldve been super cool but to me theyre mostly confusing. the whole thing screams a fan fake to me, the minfigs especially look like lego ripoffs and the theme is just? strange? for lego to me. But i think the flora's easily the highlight of the set its really cool the colours and parts they use.
Banger set.
Are the avatar minifigures taller than mega construx figures?
Man, it’s a shame these are so needlessly expensive.
God this set is epic! Thank you for such an indepth review as always.
HOW MUCH?
Seriously its hilarious.
I personaly love the figs, but IMO they should have used normal Lego heads.
I will just wait for the future update of Bricks and pieces.
Why’s there 4 extra tails?
i think the legs of toruk makto are just waaaaay too big. in the show theyre super slim and makes the animal look sleeker espeically when flying. i guess it should be able to stand but still
or as *I* like to call it...
trans pink cone battlepack
Are you going to do the rest of the sets ?
WHA- oh, that Avatar
the avatar figure faces look kinda like knock-offs from certain angles because of how flat they are. idk they just don't sit well with me
this really is a 100 dollar set
For me, this set is too expensive, and I don't care.
But you know, if Lego actually made a set for a movie I loved, I could easily see spending 30-50 dollars more for a Lego set of that theme. When it comes to Lego, I have two types of purchases. I have moc/VALUE purchases, and then I have fandom purchases that'll buy (almost) regardless of price. When those groups overlap, I am super happy!
The Ninjago City and the Frozen Ice Castle were the only real expensive sets I could think of that were fandom buys. But even those are great value, especially the Ninjago ones. I mentioned it once on the James Bond video, but that set would have been a 50 dollar purchase if it were that expensive. But I'm thankful it's only 20. ;)
I was never a massive Star Wars or Marvel fan, (nor Nintendo), so Lego is having a hard time milking me for novelty. But if they got into some Anime movies and shows. Or if they ever touched anything Cyberpunk -- I'm all in. The ninjago theme has some cyberpunk elements, and I scoop them sets up!
I still don’t see $150 worth of Lego here maybe 90 to 100 bucks but I don’t see the extra 50
Passable set.
I don't like to vinyl wings. They look kind a cheap and not Legoish. Perhaps it's just a little bit to much of them in a row. It might be ok as a sail on a ship but here... hmm.
These Avatar sets knocked it out of the park. Shame about the price tho. Also, we need more human adversaries.
Mini figures looks like early 2000s Lego mistakes 😂😂
150 ? Come on
Avatar humans light in night also in movie to night
