The reason the Autel scanner didn't work is because you need to turn the ignition on, press "ok" on the scanner to run the program (even scanner says "start", they actually meant "ok"), and THEN start the engine within 10 seconds of pressing "ok". Great video by the way. I'm messing with one of these as we speak.
@lakesautomotivediagnostics6509 I get the same P34C4 with rough idle and check engine light after changing the timing chain on my 2017 pathfinder. Will the Autel Scanner be able to relearn the intake valve motors and clear this.code
A question, brother about the intake cam, the synchronization part, the one that rotates, has position as it has a stop side to side to place it on the lid where the sensor goes.
How much does it run in a shop to replace the timing chain? Ive been trying to diagnose what the noise is on the side of the timing chain. Im not sure if its the tension pulley or what. Do you have a video on what the noise sounds like when the timing is going bad?
@lakesautomotivediagnostics6509 thank you for your response. I'm trying to help a friend that really can't afford to fix if it's the timing chain and also can't afford to lose transportation. When the time goes out what was your experience of finding out what the problem was?
Usually, you can hear the timing chain hitting the inside of the timing cover and you come also watch scan on a scanner and see the cams are not where they are supposed to be
@lakesautomotivediagnostics6509 can you hear it better with a stethoscope? The noise I hear I can't tell if it's a pulley or the timing chain. I know they have an appointment to have a shop put it on the computer and was hoping to get a better scan than what I can do. I already replace the camshaft sensors front and back on bank one. It threw a code of p0300, p0017, p34c5. I replaced the cam shift sensors and it threw a code a week later for the p0300 misfire.
All you had to do with the scan tool was click ok not starting the engine then when it went to the other screen start your engine and click start on the computer
Im doing my first short block on a QX60 infiniti and im so glad i found this video its gonna help a lot.
Thanks for watching
Oh hell yea that chain was stretched, that key way should have been pointing at the intake cam on bank 1
Wouldn’t have been long and that tensioner would’ve fell apart

I will definitely keep this in mind and try that out on the next one thanks for the information

badassgp says it will read the comment two comments above
How much it cost to do this job
Approx 3.5-4k
I have a problem with one, I don't know if the gear that turns the same as in the video is bad?
Look at your scan data for the cam actuator and see if they are at zero at idle
Lakes service info says a 3mm bead. I believe thats what it says. thats was a 4mm bead. LOL. Good vid bro
🔧🫣🔧
Lmao eyecrometer at work 😂
2017 pathfinder symptoms

Yes it could

Can you reword the question not understanding 100%

Probably around 4500

Absolutely, you can pull the serpentine belt off and start the vehicle to be sure it’s not any pullys
Oh shit i didnt knowvit was AWD if it was FWD i leave the rack in
Does all-wheel-drive and front wheel drive pay the same
All you had to do with the scan tool was click ok not starting the engine then when it went to the other screen start your engine and click start on the computer
I will try that out
how much it cost to have timing chain replaced? is it even worth it?
Depends on how nice your vehicle is and mileage
You pay 4500 to change the timing chain and then 2 months later your CVT transmission goes out. Lol😂
🔧💯🔧
I did the chain in the car lol 😂.
How was it? I will on the next one.
Doing this same job now on a 2018 in chassis. Not to bad just alittle tight with the cover coming off
Way too much rtv bro….
