"A Republican candidate in the state of Missouri posted a video on her social media pages belittling the holiday of Juneteenth and firing off her criticisms of reparations.
“Reparations from slavery and Black victimization is about to be shoved down our throats for the most [wretched] holiday in America,” Valentina Gomez said in the video while donning a shirt that reads, “Don’t be weak and gay.”
The 25-year-old GOP candidate followed up those tactless, barefaced comments about reparations with what she called a “tip” to Black Americans."

Last time I checked my ancestors built this country with their bare hands. My ancestors fought in every single war including the revolutionary war. My ancestors fought to obtain rights for themselves and everybody else. All those privileges that non-white people are enjoying in this country is because of my ancestor’s blood, sweat, tears. My ancestors were killed, they were hosed down, they were beaten, they were jailed, all to pass the civil rights act that everyone enjoys today. I listened very carefully at what she said, as a black republican, I don't completely agree with her take on reparations, she made a good point on BLM. The leaders of BLM got rich, blm didn't do anything for blacks.
