I’m glad to know I’m not the only one that accidentally touches the inside of the lenses (I’ve started to wear gloves) and I always forget the damn power switch!
Ever thought about getting a FlashMasta for wonderswan? There are no makho quality reviews/guides on the only flash cart out there for WS ;) only 1 or 2 super high level mentions in videos that I can find. Plus, there are so many awesome games for it.
>Plus, there are so many awesome games for it. Like? Most of what I found was multiplats or basically unplayable without being fluent in Japanese. Plus, I was under the impression that the flashmasta didn't support a lot of games either.

It seems it is possible to add a headphone jack to the wonderswan. Modded ones with a jack are appearing on ebay. Would be great if you could do this mod! I can't seem to find a guide on it.
Hi! Nice video :) I have a question, do you know where to find Wonderswan (not color nor crystal) replacements? I bought one a week ago and received it today. It lacks one button and I can’t find any replacements. On the other hand, It plays no sound and I was wondering if it is supposed to play anything if there’s no game inserted since I have none yet. Thanks for your time
they don't do anything with no game in them, at least the color doesn't. I'm not really familiar with BW hardware to say for sure. Are the buttons similar? I bet the color or crystal buttons could be modified to fit with some elbow grease if they aren't drop in.
The Retrobrite treatment (UV light exposure in a hydrogen peroxide bath) would take care of the yellowing on that plastic if you ever wanted to reuse that original shell.
@@makho You are right in that it doesn't solve the problem permanently. The culprit is degradation of the plastic itself which is inevitable no matter what. The damage is surface level, and the uv treatment simply bleaches that surface, removing the discoloration. There's a pretty in-depth article that gets into the chemistry that you can find with a Google search if you are interested in that. I know some people are adamantly opposed to doing that sort of treatment as they believe it further damages the plastic and speeds up the process, but according to the article, the process only causes further harm to the plastic if it is cracked and allows the reaction to happen beneath the yellowed surface layer. I'm not saying you or anyone else should do it though. I try to preserve my game systems in their original condition, but for me personally, if it's already extensively tarnished I don't think it's terrible to try to bring it back to it's original luster. I wouldn't do so to a rare piece, but these are relatively common.
I ended up going with this methodology: Install screen, then immediately install lens. For me, this works best to avoid touching the inside of the lens / the screen itself. Otherwise, dust / my fingerprints, like you said, frustrate me to no end. I need to get an anti-dust chamber and some gloves xD

That little locking mechanism for the battery holder can go screw itself.
what kind of gloves do you recommend? Plastic/rubber gloves?
@@HiNu7 disposable plastic gloves
I'm hoping that one day the battery compartment is sold seperately as that is the most common missing part when it comes to buying these secondhand.
That's a funny looking Gameboy.
Game Boy Color
Is it a glass lens, or a plastic one? Looks plastic, and that is perfectly fine. Would be a hell of a shape for glass.
is glass
Thanks for the heads up. Ordered a replacement Final Fantasy shell. The plastic screen on mine is scratched to hell and back.

Awesome stuff. More Wonderswan videos please :)
Every single time it goes > being proud of the reshell > trying to switch on... gosh dang it!
I should add that the official headphone adapter is insanely expensive.

I don't believe that retrobrite actually solves the problem. The process seems to treat the symptoms only.

Yeah, LCD then lens immediately after is my go to method for builds that I'm not planning on disassembling.
Some Wonderswan carts have a very easy battery replacements 😜
