    What a cool little system, I've never seen one before. Looks like they have put some thought into the power management and efficiency to have it run off one AA

      Yes, they are a cool little system. What's even more amazing - 15 hours off one AA battery lol :O

    Excellent Japanese handheld. Quite an intriguing little system.

      +lactobacillusprime It certainly is! There are some cool games on there as well, like RockMan EXE WS, Silverswords, and SD Gundam Operation U.C.

    Hi, my WSC also won't turn on and only shows lines exactly like yours. May I know what eventually fixes the issue? I've tried cleaning the pad and then adding copper tape but the issue persists

      Did you inspect the PCB for any signs of battery leakage? In my case, a quick clean of the board, cleaning of the switch contacts fixed it.

    • @radi1368
      @radi1368 10 месяцев назад

      @@GadgetUK164 Yes, and no sign of leakage anywhere. These past few days I was able to start it up 2 times but it won't boot on the next day. Just now I was able to start it up once again after cleaning the whole board but the game immediately freeze and won't boot right after restarting the device. Any ideas or suggestion on what to check/replace?

    Nice. I've never seen one of those. Good find.
    You need to get a jet wash on your conservatory roof XD

      +Anthony Jordan Just expand search in eBay to worldwide - then quite a few show up in Japan. Cheap to import, but probably best waiting for a flashcart from Ed Mandy.

    Interesting, I haven't heard of this device before.

    • @GadgetUK164
      @GadgetUK164  9 лет назад

      +pepzi I had heard of it but for some reason I never felt compelled to look into it. It's a nice little device but hindered for us europeans due to the language barrier. That said, with Eds flash cart on the way I can see translations happening for this device, and maybe homebrew.

    Another Gunpei Yokoi masterpiece... same guy that designed the Game Boy.

      @GadgetUK164  9 лет назад

      +fluxcore It is a fun game, and a nice system - so the guy was clearly very talented and creative!

      +GadgetUK164 He moved on to this after making the Virtualboy. His design philosophy was always to make new things with old tech and to create products that were as efficient as possible so the 1 battery thing doesn't really surprise me.
      Nice video, thanks for making it.

    I like the cart's they remind me a little of Atari LYNX games.
    These 2 games are worth getting if you can find them, Rainbow Islands Putty’s Party and Judgement Silversword.

    • @GadgetUK164
      @GadgetUK164  9 лет назад

      +9ElevenGamer Yes, they remind me of the Lynx carts as well - just a bit wider! Will check out those games, heard good things about Silversword!

    Great vid. I'd heard of the Wonderswan, but had never really seen one. Looks like you need to learn Japanese to get the most out of it :)

    • @GadgetUK164
      @GadgetUK164  9 лет назад +1

      +Lee DaStard Haha, yes - Need to learn Japanese! The nice thing is once Ed Mandys flashcart arrives it will be possible to hack some games to change them to english. I don't imagine it will be a fast or easy process to covert from Japanese to English though but I wouldn't be suprised if someone did the Final Fantasy games to start with. There are many games which do have english in there, so it's not Japanese only.
