I was really surprised to learn that their guitar player (Linus of Hollywood) used to play with Paul. Very cool! I need to check out his solo stuff like you said...

I love Glibert I met him as a teenager in 1991 with Mr Big gave me a pick and is also a lovely guy. Wish I had known about his Randy Rhoads history beforehand another one of my influences. He did tell me to check out Pat Travers though, I remember that much.

People were already making fun of Metallica and Kirk Hammett though in the latter 90’s. It was understandable as long as they didn’t also trash their 80’s output which was amazing.

His shred metal band Racer X was relatively more underground but pretty big in 80s LA scene, but he became more mainstream and an international success with Mr. Big, which had more of a melodic hard rock sound, but they only had a handful of hits. They were mostly big in Japan in the early 90s.
