Welcome back to another video! This time we have a pair of Sperry’s boat shoes which a customer mailed to us for a full make up and customization work. We took the original rubber soles off and replaced them with nice Vibram soles (171C MARMALODA ) which have improved the structure of the shoe to make them more durable and comfortable. 171C MARMALODA outsole has excellent traction and wearability. Wow makes me want to send you one of my boat shoes for you to do this too.
Because these shoes weren’t originally designed for resoling and you added the glued welt, is there a chance if the welt comes undone that the whole outsole could come off even though you Blake stitched it? I’m really interested in cobbling and why cobblers make the choices they make. Like, why this way and not adding a gimming to the insole and stitch on the welt that way? I’m guessing because this is a fast fashion shoe and the time and price doing it that way wouldn’t be advantageous to you or the buyer. Thanks!
I love this! I would love to have my Sperrys resoled with vibram soles like the ones in your video but in a different color.
It's also offered in honey color. Simply choose your options, and feel free to include a note specifying your preferred color and sole style.
