In the written exam, so I've heard. It asked questions on situations of how the hero would defeat the monster and Saitama just put "I'd punch it." as every response.
There's another on-going theory that Mob from (Mob Psycho !00) is actually Blast from the Hero association (Hero S rank 1) who is never showed. They are both stories from ONE and many hope that Mob Psycho 100 ends with him becoming Blast xD. Well it's kinda far fetched (ONE usually makes reference to Mob in OPM and to OPM in Mob, so they are kinda like fictional works in each other's worlds) but fans can dream xD
One-Soul-a-Time That could also add from the part where he says the communist dudes design on his armour was lame. Maybe it’s the humour as his suit is just yellow and red with a white cape and he calls a flame covered suit lame??
And the rest of his costume. I mean in the episode with mosquito girl his clothes were incinerated, but say, the fight against carnage kabuto where he did get hit a LOT he didn't have a single scratch on his costume. Whatever they make that out of should be applied to all heroes.
Flies are horribly annoying creatures, and many a night of my life has been wasted listening to these beasts keep me awake at all hours of the morning. So in my defence, that's probably why I mistakenly called a mosquito a fly. Flies are just WAY more annoying and hard to kill in my eye and dispute editing the footage myself where it is indeed a mosquito, I didn't notice my mistake. Apologies.
+Protagonist Yes because the themes are so hard to grasp right, even though they're not.. I saw your posts on other videos. It's your job to let everyone know how over complicated OPM is isn't it. Arkada simplified it too to be honest. But I very much prefer reviews that are to the point than like digibro's 2 hour long analysis stuff. If you want someone to review every single detail about OPM the review will be like 30 mins. Aint nobody got time foh watching 30 mins reviews lol
+Protagonist that is because everything is a spoiler, so just talking about it is ruining it for people who have not seen it before. The only thing you can say in my opinion is "here is one punch man, watch the shit out of it and come back to me tomorrow when you have watched the whole thing"
+Protagonist he's the first reviewer i've seen who didn't make the shameless attempt to take the hipster approach to criticize the show. so many people just do the whole "erggh the fanboys hyped up the show too much and it wasn't even that good.". I wonder if any show can be hyped up and actually be good according to these people.
Genos is what you call a 'foil'. Genos' power is fairly easy to measure, One and the animators can make a show of it and you can gauge him. Then you put him up against something so you can gauge the enemy (whether he wins or loses) and get a sense of their power, and it might awe you if they do it correctly (Watch the Sea King episodes again, it perfectly demonstrates this). This is so the hero, in this case Saitama, can show you how awesome they are. Or give you a sense of what they have to overcome. DBZ does this too. That's why Goku is always late.
To me the main focus of the show never was Saitama's rise to the top of the ranks. I always felt that the show actually explored a way more interesting idea at its core, which is his invincibility, basically the power of the god and how this affects his life. The show isn't as much about a struggle to win as it's about a struggle for Saitama to find something in life that is fulfilling, which is a story most super hero stories don't touch upon. Saitama doesn't fight a specific enemy. Saitama fights the absurdity of life and to some extent a depression. I wonder why nobody ever seems to point that out, since it is even talked about by Saitama in the show. How his life is boring and everyday is just same-same. How nobody recognises him for what he is. Then people go on to say how there's basically nothing under the surface, while it's exploring a very interesting question in a very unique way, through comedy. Comedy that's actually good.
Exactly...and i thought that it was so damn obvious from the start. Then i saw people's reviews of it, and a lot of them haven't really pointed that out as you said.
+Jace X Saitama could probably kill boros in one punch, if he used his serious punch from the start, but he held back until the end (who knows wtf happens if he uses full power) and maybe he decided to give Boros a good fight just so he'd feel better since he's comparable to Saitama in context. (Godly strong among his race)
"The being so powerful that even Saitama couldn't kill in one punch." As it turns out, the original artist created "the being" as the last boss in his previous work and made it so powerful that he actually abandoned the story all together, twenty years ago, reference you hear in the anime itself.
saitama still killed boros with one punch at the end. everything before that was just him holding back from killing boros in the same boring way as usual. so its not that "he couldnt" but that "he didnt want to".
Δndrew Liu but he isn't that great though? another theory suggest that he gained power the same way people became monster. but somehow still attaining identity as human. another theory involves some form of radiation, hence why he is bald
The reason why One Punch Man has so many Sakuga is because the director Shingo Natsume basically called on numerous animators he got to know throughout his career to work on the series (People often joke about it calling it Shingo Natsume's Book of Friend =p). And like you said, it is the fact that each Sakuga is different and recognizable that makes it so impressive, that is because those animator come from very diverse "generations" (for example there are a few "WebGen" animators who never got to work in a professional animator studio before).
+battle0001 YES THEY GODDAMN DO!! OMG IT'S THE WORST THING I EVER HEAR. When you're in a your bed while it's quiet during the night, you can hear that little fuck make a loud ass high pitched flying noise
One Punch Man is one of the best anime I've seen in such a long time. Highly recommend it to all, it reminds me a bit of Ruroni Kenshin because of the OPness of the main character. The story is great and the humor alone is enough to make this a must watch. GO WATCH IT, YOU WILL NOT REGRET.
I saw the first episode not that long ago. Most of it had me thinking "What is this? What are they playing at?" but the part where Saitama KOed the discount Piccolo who was trying to tell him his backstory...I loved that scene. Now, I think I'd like to see more.
+Mikespinaltrooperz I haven't read the Manga so it was even more overwhelming for me. Do you think it would be a good idea for Tristin to review it though. I feel you need to watch a certain amount of story arcs to really appreciate the show as a whole.
He won't. Despite his massive power, he can actually control his power (as seen he can break disposable chopsticks in a usual manner without destroying it, holding cups and gaming consoles without crushing it) just like usual. He can raise his power when the situation called for it.
Yeah I was going to say. I think he can control it. Since he can jump to attack a fly without breaking a window or clap without creating massive shockwaves. He also normal punched Boros and then serious punched him to all hell.
Saitama has more than just Genos. Read the manga. Anyway, in the anime, remember when he and Genos were sparring? Saitama tapped him lightly at the end and walked off saying he was hungry. So he can definitely control it.
+patrick watkins doing the workout everyday is even counterproductive. because of muscle hypertrophy you have to wait a day or so in-between workouts so the muscles can recover and grow...
+TheTrueM3ga Pretty much this, just ask any doctor or fitness instructor and they will tell how bad an idea it is to strain yourself so much every day. Now obviously you could alternate with some light execise every second day, but yeah...
This begs the question, how did they not have cameras or officials watching him, not to mention punching a machine through a wall, throwing a ball through the ceiling etc they should of investigated or disqualified him if they really doubted him
Gintama is fun they said, Gintama is comedy they said... so why most of its fandom cried that much this week? One Punch Man is really a great experience. Couldn't understand the rating of other reviewers.
+A. proAkdag Ahhh it would be so amazing if he would actually watch Gintama and then review *that* moment! Even though it's highly possible, that someone already spoilt it by that time...
It is a great experience for many. But there is a lot better out there. I don't think the anime is that amazing, but it's amazing if it can be a bridge to the anime world for people
There probably are a lot of anime that are better. In fact, Gintama is arguably a piece of crap, but it's also one of my favourite - if not my absolute favourite anime out there. I can't really objectively judge it. :D
Coolpigeon I have heard ufotable get its money from typemoon to create those beatiful animations. So apparently, if they made other shows, then you wont see those animations
+Paradox Haze A-1 are trash. They butcher shounen and most of their other stuff are meh. Erased is good though. And production IG are legendary for making Jin-roh and Ghost in the shell. Haikyuu! second season is probably the best animated show this season and its by IG
+Tom Smits That was probably only true for The Garden of Sinners movies and maybe Fate/Zero. The Fate series makes the most money off Blu ray sales than any other anime, back when Fate/Zero was airing, the 1st box set broke records, so they have more than enough money now.
I was hoping for a super serious punch coming from Arkada at the end. D: Wait, if he did that. He'd lose all of his hair and everyone who was watching this would be fucked.
+Mitrospeed I can't say I like the idea of Saitama being more in the background since I loved watching his over-powered fighting, the fight with Boros for example made me act like an excited little kid, but I also love a good story and I don't doubt that the anime is going to deliver. I honestly thought the story was really well paced and actually a bit slow at times, and had they sped it up I wouldn't have minded at all.
+Mitrospeed Haha, I'm glad we're on the same page and now I'm hyped for that second fight :D I'm a bit of an anime critic myself and sometimes I read a little too deeply in to an anime, but in this case I'm glad I did. :)
+Ethanol You can only fit so much in 12 episodes. Even then, it's a webcomic/manga adaptation so it's even more harder to fit scenes in the manga down to the letter when you have a set scene where you want the story to end for now.
King is missing, the physically strongest Hero. Said to be able to defeat enemies with one punch. When he gets pumped and ready for battle his heart beats so hard you can hear it. Called "King's engine" that sound is the fear of the villains.
ODDnanref in the manga (Punch 8) King is actually a cowardly otaku, who was being attacked by a monster when saitama came in and punched it and left. His “engine” is just his heartbeat being heard because he is horribly afraid
I personally have a sincere love for this show, while I can see it being viewed negatively I myself saw it at a different perspective. I watched it and felt nostalgia of my days watching cartoons as a kid. It gave me the feeling of "Yeah another One Punch Man episode! let's see him wreck some bad guys!" It feels like watching popeye with an anime twist. For being what it is, I love it! I would love to see more!
nvalid werdz I've always tried recommending it to some friends, and when they keep rejecting and it saying it sounds boring, I never talk to them again after giving up
This Shonen manga chlichee where the villain gets a power up / shows his true power, the main character looks shocked and gets beat down is extremly overuse (especially in Dragonball and Bleach). That is the reason why Saitama`s "fight" against Carnage Kabuto was just extremly hilarious
The reason I loved OPM was because it wasn't normal and it was funny watching enemies try to do their whole monologue but instead they just get punched. It's also really funny to see a being that's seen as a god have just as much trouble dealing with a fly/mosquito as a regular human would.
I really agreed with most of your review. But I personally would have touched a bit on the deeper message of the show. Also for me, with the fights that Saitama gets into, it has no impact on me that he can defeat any enemy with one punch, in most shows now you know that the protagonist is going to win, but I still like to see how they do it. The only thing the fights lack, is that form of tension, that struggle to win. The spectacular fight, I feel replaces that tension. But, I can easily see how people would miss that form of tension.
***** The deeper meaning is what it means to be a hero and what does someone do when their passion has be mastered to the point of it being ruined for them.
***** Well, if you're going to compare it to One Piece, you have to factor in that One Punch Man has had 13 episodes and has run a few months, while One Piece has been running for over 15 years and has close to 700 episodes.
+Pixy Wing I'm assuming that by me saying that it has a deeper meaning, you interpreted it as me believing it is overly complex. I was stating that it has a deeper meaning then the review seemed to suggest. Also I personally like One Piece.
+Pixy Wing Let's see... A kids show about pirates with no end in sight vs a parody of super heroes and typical anime with blood and gore that was short and to the point... Well shit, if we gonna make retarded comparisons I'll tell you Apples got nothing on Oranges!
Arkada first of all that's a mosqito second of all Saitama dosen't try to punch the mosquito he's trying to slap it. The TRUE being that Saitama could'nt kill with one punch was Lord Boros. It only took Saitama three punches to kill Lord Boros.
Oh and Saitama dosen't have the ability to kill anything in one punch. He trained so hard he got this power AND went BALD(seriusly he said he did pushups until his arms and legs BROKRE and he KEEPS going). And he is so fast he can cast after images. And he can jump so high he dosen't even NEED to fly. For fucks sakes he can litterly teleport.
2:10 It is explained in the manga that Metal Knight has a robot army that does most of the repairs and was the one responsible for building the heroes quarters at the end of the show in just 10 days while the project was set to be finished in 10 years. There's a shit ton of things in the manga that didn't make it to the actual show that responds so much of this kind of questions.
i do realize that there is going to be a season 2 and i cannot wait for it, but i was left slightly disappointed after watching the last episode of s1 because i expected the other s class members, save for genos and bang, to realize the raw power that one punch man has. throughout the story we have seen the public treat him as a fraud and maybe i just really wanted atleast one moment of admiration for all that saitama does. brilliant series though! took me in one hell of a ride!
I think thats one of the driving force to watch One Punch Man. We want him to be recognize by the public and treated as a Hero by both the people and the heros themselves.
Your in luck if you like the characters , because season one if only for introducing Saitama , season 2 starts plot and character development , I even think that it's better that season one by a mile :3 ( will come in 2017)
LiGht YaGami he called it overrated because he feels that it got more praise than it actually deserves. Don't confuse that with being salty. And yes he made another video, which is actually a review unlike the video you saw.
+LiGht YaGami Bob isn't a reviewer I take much stock in because he lets outside sources affect his enjoyment or analysis too often. Just like the people I'd call hipsters on a random RUclips thread. Although I have agreed with some of his rant videos in the past, mostly the ones that tackle the industry itself. And this last part doesn't really matter but I think Arkada's got the suit and tie game down way better.
this is your third video in a row i've watched now. and i have to say im loving your reviews and content. very solid, very honest, and long story short you just earned a new sub.
Y'all can talk about the fight scenes all you want but the best animated scene in one punch man was when Mumen rider got of his bike in episode 4! OMGOSH
+TheHappy_P0tat0 It does appear the Organization will likely be the main villains of the next big arc. They've been too frequently foreshadowed to not be coming to a head now that the seeds of another threat have been sown.
+TheHappy_P0tat0 ..........REALLY? 1. We let you steal those battle suits just so we could get free combat data on them. And then "kill" the guy and leave the body as a warning. 2. Sends a demon class monster after King, again for combat data, who then threatens kill 10 people for every minute he's late coming back from the bathroom. I'm sure they're they're pretty swell guys.
the parody genre. easily a must watch. Its just plain entertaining and thrilling at moments. great animation, art style, music, combat, etc etc. 8/10. really no flaws in the anime.
I agree ! The music in One Punch Man definitely inspires me, it makes me want to be a hero too! (Like how the first opening of SnK made me want to murder titans ☆^☆)
The music just make me want to keep moving, too me it's not wanting to be a hero. Its something you have to push yourself nearing to over path your limit.
Probably the best review for _One Punch Man_ out there that isn't full of fan-boy drivel or downright blasting it apart simply for being popular. This had to have been a bit of a hard one to write, Tristan, and you did a great job. I honestly didn't care too much about the series while watching it--don't get me wrong, I at least enjoyed it every week, and it definitely was the best of the fall line-up next to _A Corpse is Buried under Sakurako-san's Feet_ (let's be honest here, Fall 2015 was pretty bad). But when it comes to this kind of show, or at least something similar, I preferred _Ninja Slayer From Animation_ for being just as absurd and being just as much of a parody, although yes the animation was virtually non-existent, _that was done on purpose_. The soundtrack for that show was also better, I remember it more than I do _One Punch Man_'s. And I also don't remember _OPM_ having characters scream similar catchphrases like "YEEART!", "Take this!", or "Recite your death haiku!"--which yeah, it didn't need, but I still would've probably appreciated more hammy villains yucking it up before they died.
+Pixy Wing I don't like the "Certified Frosty" grade either, but I've yet to see a review at least point out what Tristan's pointed out. And it was pointed out in the cons at the end that if you don't like the humor, it's just nothing more than pretty animation. And it's true; I didn't get into the humor after the first two episodes, so I just saw nice-looking animation. I'm honestly wondering if the anime did the webcomic/manga justice, as what may work well in one medium doesn't transition well into another. _OPM_ sounds like on paper it was made to be a "gag" comic, nothing more, and I don't think that worked as an anime. I guess I wish there was more "creativity" of sorts with the one-hit KOs every episode so even though we saw the punchline coming, the way it was approached was different.
+Tatsuye Shibe Oh Buddha! +Pixy Wing I reeeeeally need to get around to watching _Ninja Slayer_ dubbed, I've meant to do it because Chris Sabat's Fujikido and I want to hear his "YEEART!" as well as everyone else's performance. Omg _Golden Boy_, what a classic.
+Kumori Garasu There are some instances of poking fun at hilariously long weapon/attack names in the second season. An entire character is dedicated to that.
+HadassaMoon144 I would probably want to do a high quality review, incorporating clips from the whole series, which would take a long time, considering it's 74 episodes. It's understandable why he hasn't invested time into that yet.
+Christ Gets All Glory I think someone mentioned that the reason he didn't do a review of it yet is because it's unlicensed but still he did reviews of other unlicensed anime like Hyouka so I'm hoping that he'll do it
I saw 18 chapters, but I couldn't stand it anymore. Its characters are bland, stupid and too bound into simple mindset categories. Does that change? How is it any good? (without spoilers)
I thought that it was kinda crazy with the fact that it made you (at times) root for the villain. For example; Saitama squared off with Boros, you can see the disapointment and disentressed spread over Saitamas face while Boros is going through a life changing experience. At one point Boros says "I will defeat you" with such heart and passion that for a second, I thought he was the protagonist hero. Even though Boros was a space tyrant you wanted him to win, you wanted him to succeed where so many have failed. That's why I love One Punch Man, it gets you into the story so much that the battles dont rely on the story but are built from strong acting, amazing character design, heartfelt soundtracks and beautiful animations.
+PreeSasukeUchiha The anime nor the source material didn't even point out that he IS, it's just that he can. The title acts like a sales pitch for the character 'coz the story points out that he CAN one-punch weaker enemies.
+Aaron Mackellar He wasn't trying to kill him he was hoping he could have some fun fighting him so he dragged it out. He could've ended it anything he wanted it.
FYI, Hanabee has the full version of Monster for us down under. Region Encoding shouldn't be an issue because if you're worth any salt it's easy to bypass it.
You are my OnePunchMan of anime reviewing! You've been a huge inspiration to me and I hope to be a great reviewer like you are when I can afford some better tech.
Class S 1 is King, but the problem is King just happened to be in the same place at the same time as Saitama when defeating many villains, so that's how he's got his position. He knows he's a fraud, but was moire or less railroaded into it and keeps up appearances more for the hero association than himself. Neither Saitama nor King know that all of King's accomplishments are really Saitama and they get along pretty well.
+Ari Liu it isn't king, he is 7 in the ranking of S class , but he is treated like the most powerfull hero after Blast, Blast is yet to be shown in the web comic but Tatsumaki had already spoken about him
Spoilers: Little is know of Blast. Two things are known he is number 1 in ranking and he saved Tornado of Terror from an experimental facility. There are several theories. Ranging from Blast being inside Pig God, to keep him from destroying cities; Pig God being Blast; Blast being someone like Saitama, and Saitama being Blast without knowing it. The last one was a theory that the big chinned kid told the story to his father who reserved the place for that person as gratitude. Some have been disproved by more information coming from the webcomic.
+Ernesto Sera I just finished the manga... and I have to say... I was a little let down. It's basically "All You Need Is Kill" + the entire plot to "Life is Strange". Like seriously... (spoilers sort of) The ending to Life is Strange and Erased are EXACTLY the same, except Life is Strange draws it out a little longer making it feel more like a battle between hero and murderer, where in Erased it's over in a few chapters. Really I think those two series All you need is kill, which just got made into a western movie, and Life is Strange, both did the "Time Travel to solve a mystery" way better. Erased basically drops the entire idea of time travel half way through the series. I mean the 30 year old in a 10 year old's body was an interesting take on the "Time travel to solve a mystery"... but it really doesn't feel any different from a "Ten year old solves a mystery" in the end.
Awesome review, i love your way of narrating but also when you are on camera, you're very charismatic and really know how to get your point across, instant subscribe and im now gonna take a dive in all your videos :D
+G_Spark233 this Seinen and Shonen debate again, i hate it, there is no solid definition for the words, Shonen and Seinen just basically series for boy with Seinen explore more mature theme, but that is, who decide that for an anime, who can say that an anime doesn't have any mature themes
omg omg .. i am freaking out b4 watching the video ..... i watch like 8 times every episode >.< i cant watch your review arcada .. i need some rum b4 i watch it
I kinda understand what the written test was about more noble qualities of being a hero rather than strength, like why did you decide to be a hero? At the beginning of the show, Saitama is a hero for fun who was just looking for a good fight, which is probably what he put on his test. Normally, a guy with such flimsy reasoning wouldn't be allowed in, but Saitama is so strong they made an exception. Saitama's pseudo zen philosophy to Genos is actually really teaching himself how to be a genuine self sacrificing hero because Genos pretty much knows all about being noble. It's something that Saitama has a hard time initially understanding because, as an invulnerable super human, he doesn't really risk anything when he goes into battle. Saitama raising through the ranks is symbolic of his internal journey to be a real hero over a hero for fun. Saitama and Genos are much more balanced than at first glance.
I can easily fill you in on why the citys seem to be rebuilt so quickly. The S Class hero Metal Knight rebuilds it. His machines are known to rebuild cities in mere days. And if you liked Season 1, just wait for Season 2, Garou makes this manga and story at that much higher of a level. Also, it's a Mosquito that Saitama can't kill, not a fly.
One of the conflicts that happens often is crap happening and stuff being destroyed, and all can be saved by Saitama, but he's like 20 miles away and is hitchhiking on a bicycle
So... somewhat bland hero with extremely high combat efficiency but of low in-universe rank in spite of ability to defeat those in higher ranks? I've heard of this somewhere... Fukou da...
In the written exam, so I've heard. It asked questions on situations of how the hero would defeat the monster and Saitama just put "I'd punch it." as every response.
Well he's not wrong.
man these fan theories are just crazy... crazy and interesting...
There's a theory that One-Punch Man and My Hero Academia are set in the same universe, just at different timelines.
Alouitious Teapot really?
I think Saitama's gloves are the strongest thing are the strongest thing in the series. Somehow they can withstand the force of his punch.
Damn, that tailor who made his suit is probably the King of GOD KINGS
One-Soul-a-Time That could also add from the part where he says the communist dudes design on his armour was lame. Maybe it’s the humour as his suit is just yellow and red with a white cape and he calls a flame covered suit lame??
And the rest of his costume. I mean in the episode with mosquito girl his clothes were incinerated, but say, the fight against carnage kabuto where he did get hit a LOT he didn't have a single scratch on his costume. Whatever they make that out of should be applied to all heroes.
Oh.... my..... GOD!!!!!
YYYYYEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!
He made the suit himself i think
The Hero Agency isn't a government agency. It was started by a wealthy dude after his son was saved by Saitama in the first episode.
Correction: The dude who started the Agency is the kid who was saved by saitama.
No Benedict, no.
+benedict joel lol how would that work
It was the buttchin kids dad/other male relative that started it, unless you really think that kid grew up and became rich all in 3 years.
i thought it was the kids rich uncle personally... , damn it now i have to go watch them all again
Apologies.
Lmao.
*+Glass Reflection* i always thought mosquito's were the annoying ones because they make a high pitched sound .-.
*mosquito
It's an easy mistake to make. After all, it is Saitama's arch nemesis.
+Glass Reflection you try living in a environment that has a lot of mosquitoes, it will make flies your best buddies
The first reviewer I have seen who didn't drastically oversimplify OPM. I tip my hat to you Tristan.
Aint nobody got time foh watching 30 mins reviews lol
watch bob samurai's review of it.
I dont really like Bob but his review was good I have to admit.
Do you think Saitama made it to the store in time?
Or him getting a soft and long fry.
Except for that meteor.
No... Well actually yes... But he probably won't have enough money on him lol
Man I sure hope so
I disagree it is actually that nothing can get between Saitama and a sale.
Genos is only there to get beaten up......
That's why Goku is always late.
polished punching bag, so polished he's chrome
jk I love genos
His professor must be upset about all the bills to Amazon for parts.
Look at the manga, he’s almost constantly depicted as beat up
In absolutely magnificent fashion.
And it's getting a second season. Which is awesome.
HOLY SHIT IM HYPED AS HELL
ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN CHOO CHOO!
One Punch Man deserves it!
OH YEAH MADHOUSE FTW!!
Kenneth Ayoob holy shit
Then i saw people's reviews of it, and a lot of them haven't really pointed that out as you said.
yup, well said. he is the strongest ever and isnt happy, it shows how stats dont matter in the end.
the most interesting part for me in the series
Thank you. Just made a similar comment myself, less well put, because the few comment here I looked at didn't address this.
@@death2boredom338 this concept is pretty much better and more consistent and easier to follow more than superman when you think about it
you thought it was Boros, but it was I! that mosquito!
We were all expecting the mosquito.
+orestesmkb ONE has said that a full power punch could destroy half the universe
+ashik jaman proof?
+TheKarabanera saitama never fought King, but probably wins easly
i think the funniest thing is how he obtained his power
Essentially....he be on that grind on the daily.
....seems legit
@@Chirpysemperboy best of it was to turn off the AC. The biggest secret no one believed.
Best part is nobody not even Genos truly believed him despite him telling the truth.
"The being so powerful that even Saitama couldn't kill in one punch."
As it turns out, the original artist created "the being" as the last boss in his previous work and made it so powerful that he actually abandoned the story all together, twenty years ago, reference you hear in the anime itself.
saitama still killed boros with one punch at the end.
everything before that was just him holding back from killing boros in the same boring way as usual.
so its not that "he couldnt" but that "he didnt want to".
Makes sense. In the Manga [SPOILERS]
Homeless Emperor is actually given his powers by some godlike being that is yet to be explained.
Δndrew Liu but he isn't that great though? another theory suggest that he gained power the same way people became monster. but somehow still attaining identity as human.
another theory involves some form of radiation, hence why he is bald
*watching one punch man at 3 am* *starts to fall asleep* *intro plays* ONE PUNCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHH
me: I'M AWAKE MAH
havent finished it yet
but bet is on Certified frosty
Ayyyyy sweet got it
+DragonAce028 you replied 0 minutes later
you already knew the answer
Geoxor I stopped the vid
than skipped and looked at the end.
Yes, I love spoilers
DragonAce028 i see :D
+DragonAce028 Lol I didn't expect him to give it anything less.
One is a piss poor artist, but goddamn can he write a story. that's why it's persisted this long. it's just so well written.
Thomas Jenkins yup sometimes there are no words for the scribbles that he does
Even mob psycho 100 is amazing and it was made from him, watch it it is amazing
The reason why One Punch Man has so many Sakuga is because the director Shingo Natsume basically called on numerous animators he got to know throughout his career to work on the series (People often joke about it calling it Shingo Natsume's Book of Friend =p). And like you said, it is the fact that each Sakuga is different and recognizable that makes it so impressive, that is because those animator come from very diverse "generations" (for example there are a few "WebGen" animators who never got to work in a professional animator studio before).
With Madhouse and KyoAni, hell even A-1 and DEEN of all studios this season, it really is a great time for anime =)
Finally, someone who acknowledges Shingo instead of jerking off madhouse.
Rumors are about that the Manga Artist is working hard to push out more OPM so Mad House has enough material for a second season.
+Mitrospeed Don't want him burning out.
***** For now at least. Don't want him rushing things and ruining the story. Really do not want a repeat of Naruto.
***** Oh thank heavens. Soon ONE will rule them all! Hahahahaha.
+Ichigo1423jfk One is basically One Punch man... of Manga. Underrated but incredibly good.
Josh Marks Soon will become #2, right behind OP.
by the fly you mean mosquito right?
+Michael Maszk I was going to be like the mosquito damnit.
but it makes noises when it flies....mosquitoes don't do that do they?
In the real world no, but the ones in the anime world with a giant mosquito chick controlling them sure as hell can.
+battle0001 YES THEY GODDAMN DO!!
OMG IT'S THE WORST THING I EVER HEAR.
When you're in a your bed while it's quiet during the night, you can hear that little fuck make a loud ass high pitched flying noise
it absolutely makes a noise and the one in the anime is most definitely a mosquito flying sound rather than a fly
Rurouni Kenshin, yes! XD
Mee too bro
I saw the first episode not that long ago. Most of it had me thinking "What is this? What are they playing at?" but the part where Saitama KOed the discount Piccolo who was trying to tell him his backstory...I loved that scene. Now, I think I'd like to see more.
ITs all right. I like the whole show but its no where near Rurouni Kenshin quality.
You are insulting rurouni kenshin by making that comparison.
If you like shows that make fun of themselves, then you're gonna LOVE Gintama :)
+Mikespinaltrooperz I agree.
+Mikespinaltrooperz Did you see this weeks episode?
yup
+CornishCreamtea07 That episode destroyed me. I read the manga so I saw IT coming and it still destroyed me.
+Mikespinaltrooperz I haven't read the Manga so it was even more overwhelming for me. Do you think it would be a good idea for Tristin to review it though. I feel you need to watch a certain amount of story arcs to really appreciate the show as a whole.
* One Punch Man lightly punches his best friend because he was telling a joke *
Friend: *DEAD.*
I wonder if this ever actually happened.
But not on the level of him I were he likes to fight on par with rivals
Saitama doesnt have friends actually. He was lonely until Genos came. Thought he is still lonely.
I can't believe you are gonna skip on the 10k run and turn off your Air conditioning!!!! Unsubbing
+Troy Oliver that 10km run is the bulk of the exercise honestly. doing 100 push ups, sit ups and squats isn't particularly hard.
+patrick watkins doing the workout everyday is even counterproductive. because of muscle hypertrophy you have to wait a day or so in-between workouts so the muscles can recover and grow...
+Troy Oliver I was thinking the same thing. lol
+TheTrueM3ga Pretty much this, just ask any doctor or fitness instructor and they will tell how bad an idea it is to strain yourself so much every day. Now obviously you could alternate with some light execise every second day, but yeah...
+six2make4 except leg muscles. Most people who workout a lot agree you can do legs everyday.
I would love to see a Katanagatari review
YES!! I really would like to see that too!
Yesssss
Katanagatari is great.
+Lyoshi157 Second that
+Lyoshi157 Yeah he needs to jump on that XD I also made a video regarding Katanagatari
The Association didn't bother to re-test Saitama because they doubted the result even they accused Saitama cheating the test.
This begs the question, how did they not have cameras or officials watching him, not to mention punching a machine through a wall, throwing a ball through the ceiling etc they should of investigated or disqualified him if they really doubted him
2 words, punching machine
saitama y u no try 2 b gud
I really hate the association for that
Gintama is fun they said, Gintama is comedy they said... so why most of its fandom cried that much this week?
+Fieshs Funny, its a bit how Claymore is my absolute favorite anime even though its just a bummy advertisement for the manga.
Madhouse , Bones , A-1 , and sometimes production IG are the best studios IMO. I wish any of them could get ahold of toeis work
+Paradox Haze What about ufotable?
Coolpigeon
I have heard ufotable get its money from typemoon to create those beatiful animations.
+CoolPigeon they are only good when they do Ufotable stuff. I would, however, put KyoAni over both Bones (at least nowadays) and A-1.
+Tom Smits That was probably only true for The Garden of Sinners movies and maybe Fate/Zero. The Fate series makes the most money off Blu ray sales than any other anime, back when Fate/Zero was airing, the 1st box set broke records, so they have more than enough money now.
"Moments where you're screaming at your screen, YOU CAN DO IT!" You mean the entirety of the Mumen Rider V the Sea King.
I was hoping for a super serious punch coming from Arkada at the end. D:
Wait, if he did that. He'd lose all of his hair and everyone who was watching this would be fucked.
I don't want to lose my virginity
+Bruce Wayne, you have Damien Wayne. You've already lost your virginity.
+EODM07 i miss podtaku :(.
Puri Puri Prisoner is the fucking best.
lol
His sailor moon transformation killed me
+Tango Down You got to love haters saying that he is gay
Well he is....
ANGEL DASH!!!
ruyman90 He's gay as fuck. Hilariously so.
I'm a lady who loves everything but this kind of anime.
AND I LOVED THIS ANIME.
yus!!!
I loved this series, my one complaint is that the side characters, namely the other S rank heroes, aren't really used until the end.
+Mitrospeed
Can't wait for season 2, even more than before now. This fact does make s1 go from a 9/10 to like a 8.9/10 though :P
+Mitrospeed
I can't say I like the idea of Saitama being more in the background since I loved watching his over-powered fighting, the fight with Boros for example made me act like an excited little kid, but I also love a good story and I don't doubt that the anime is going to deliver.
I honestly thought the story was really well paced and actually a bit slow at times, and had they sped it up I wouldn't have minded at all.
+Mitrospeed
Haha, I'm glad we're on the same page and now I'm hyped for that second fight :D
I'm a bit of an anime critic myself and sometimes I read a little too deeply in to an anime, but in this case I'm glad I did. :)
+Ethanol You can only fit so much in 12 episodes. Even then, it's a webcomic/manga adaptation so it's even more harder to fit scenes in the manga down to the letter when you have a set scene where you want the story to end for now.
+Ethanol trust me IF season 2 happens...this is all you will see :D development of side characters and almost no saitama xD
King is missing, the physically strongest Hero. Said to be able to defeat enemies with one punch. When he gets pumped and ready for battle his heart beats so hard you can hear it. Called "King's engine" that sound is the fear of the villains.
ODDnanref ah I see. ill delete the comment then
King just needs to be present, he doesn't even punch! The power behind the King engine is insane
ODDnanref in the manga (Punch 8) King is actually a cowardly otaku, who was being attacked by a monster when saitama came in and punched it and left. His “engine” is just his heartbeat being heard because he is horribly afraid
Don't listen to Broccoli Boi, he's lying!
Straightbanana ?
wa wa wa wa wa wa wa wa.......
ONE PAAAAAWWWWNNNCCCHHHHH!!!!!!!
Once we have screens that can project actual physical objects from them, watching that intro will kill someone.
LunaWaterFR finally, someone with perspective!!
If you do not love One Punch Man, we cannot be friends. This is my rule.
nvalid werdz I've always tried recommending it to some friends, and when they keep rejecting and it saying it sounds boring, I never talk to them again after giving up
still my rule
This Shonen manga chlichee where the villain gets a power up / shows his true power, the main character looks shocked and gets beat down is extremly overuse (especially in Dragonball and Bleach). That is the reason why Saitama`s "fight" against Carnage Kabuto was just extremly hilarious
I can't stop staring at your hair in all your videos
This is Rare!! xD to see GRAkada certified frosty a hype anime!! :D
+Pixy Wing That's even rarer.
In this case the hype is completely justified, so it is understandable
***** My point still stands
Mumen Rider > Saitama
Mumen Rider is the GOAT
Mumen rider was a beautiful character :)
+TheKchannel
Your duck must be a great hero.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
+G_Spark233
Indeed Mumen Rider was the highlight of the anime.
Mumen Rider Kreygasm
One Punch Man has easily become one of my favorite shows. Its reminiscent of old dragon ball as far as serious fight scenes and comedy mixed together.
Yea facts, yk when I was first getting into anime this was the first show I watched a few years back!
One Punch man is getting dubed spread the word.
Nah, dont, It's terrible
u havent even seen it guarantee fam, and almost everyone who seen the trailer sais it sounds good calm down
+funnyboyi yeah, I saw the flipping trailer,
its ok but i expected it to be diffrent though
the underground artist ONE always has THE BEST anime concepts
1:40 1 Punch
5:15 A More What You Expect Hero Story
7:39 Animation & Sound
+Kerem Gülbin he doesn't teleport. That's just his speed
that's what I said genius
Technically Saitama beat Boros with 3 normal punches, 1 Consecutive Punch and 1 Serious Punch.
+xSGKx Bu11et very tru
You misspelled ''Madhouse's greatest masterpiece after HxH'' again.
You okay bro?
Spelling can be difficult.
+G_Spark233 you are literally everywhere i go lol. true anime fan :)
+Omar “Krispy” Jr I'm everywhere!
+Jesse Anderson Are you hyped for Assclass season 2?
idk bro, redline's really fighting for that title
2:10 It is explained in the manga that Metal Knight has a robot army that does most of the repairs and was the one responsible for building the heroes quarters at the end of the show in just 10 days while the project was set to be finished in 10 years. There's a shit ton of things in the manga that didn't make it to the actual show that responds so much of this kind of questions.
Mumen rider is the definition of a true hero!
Please review Baka and Test. It's funny, it's short and IMO it has a great dub.
hells yea!
One of the funniest shows I've seen with one of the best dubs out there!
Please!!!
Yes, I love that show!! 😂
I totally agree Frosty Certified
Is your into music the beginning of "Roundabout" from "Yes"?
It does actually sound like it
If you haven't already, you probably should watch the first episode of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
+Proper 1420 More like every episode.
+Proper 1420 I have seen the show. That's why I am asking.
+Proper 1420 That's a strange way to spell "listen to Fragile".
Waiting for a slugging match between Saitama and Blast
I was really excited to watch this review because I love One Punch Man but hearing at the end that Arkada might watch Gintama made me way more hype.
well 2nd season is confirmed
+Walter White That would be 2017, but the confirmation that it will be produced is still in the air.
+Walter White im so pumped....IM SO PUMPED, I NEED TO PUNCH SOMETHING!!!
Karrot H ok
i do realize that there is going to be a season 2 and i cannot wait for it, but i was left slightly disappointed after watching the last episode of s1 because i expected the other s class members, save for genos and bang, to realize the raw power that one punch man has.
throughout the story we have seen the public treat him as a fraud and maybe i just really wanted atleast one moment of admiration for all that saitama does. brilliant series though! took me in one hell of a ride!
I think thats one of the driving force to watch One Punch Man. We want him to be recognize by the public and treated as a Hero by both the people and the heros themselves.
+DarkLord3709 tbh, you're right. if he was the usual handsome hero character, i'd have stopped watching within 2 episodes.
Your in luck if you like the characters , because season one if only for introducing Saitama , season 2 starts plot and character development , I even think that it's better that season one by a mile :3 ( will come in 2017)
At least Tatsumaki is going to realise how powerful he truly is.
Kind of.
Definitly looking forward to this scene^^
me too :D , i wish to see a bald head poping out of the ground
Im genuinely so happy i found this channel.
can't wait to see him review OPM season 2, may be in... 3 YEARS
Best review for one punch man!
+Pixy Wing Fuck outta here with that shit.
+Pixy Wing It's true
+LiGht YaGami Bob pointed out the pros and cons and even gave it a positive score, how on earth does that make him salty?
Y'all can talk about the fight scenes all you want but the best animated scene in one punch man was when
Mumen rider got of his bike in episode 4! OMGOSH
+Fitz Alan From that Moment I knew, the anime team gives Mumen Rider the attention he deserves.
Actually good point, when will Genos' backstory be explained?
ONE! Hurry up with that "season 3" content.
+TheHappy_P0tat0 It does appear the Organization will likely be the main villains of the next big arc. They've been too frequently foreshadowed to not be coming to a head now that the seeds of another threat have been sown.
ZanathKariashi I doubt it.
It's going to either be Metal Knight or "God"
+TheHappy_P0tat0 I think there's a strong possibility of Metal Knight being the Organization tbh
Alex I never get why people say the organization will be a villain.
They've never come across as being sinister to me.
+Pixy Wing That's the final score I gave it on MAL, so I'll check it out, then.
+Kumori Garasu YEEART! YEEART! YEEART!
Best review in a while man, no need to spend most of the review covering what the show is about but what makes the show good.
Has he ever reviewed Monster? That's my favorite anime of all time.
+Christ Gets All Glory From what he's said in other videos, he's a fan... but I wish he'd do a review too. I keep checking back year after year... :(
+HadassaMoon144 I would probably want to do a high quality review, incorporating clips from the whole series, which would take a long time, considering it's 74 episodes.
Mine to.
One Punch Man=The Best Anime of Fall 2015
(just my opinion btw)
+Pixy Wing i dont agree
+Pixy Wing And Noragami and Owarimonogatari. One Punch Man was fun, but didn't really have the intellectual and emotional engagement of those two.
He doesn't have the ability to kill anything in one punch, its a common mistake he's just strong enough to usually do it in his show
If that were the case boros wouldn't have survived his punch
+PreeSasukeUchiha The anime nor the source material didn't even point out that he IS, it's just that he can. The title acts like a sales pitch for the character 'coz the story points out that he CAN one-punch weaker enemies.
+Aaron Mackellar he didnt survive the serious punch tho
+Nxrv he did actually and that series punch was combined with his own ultimate attack and he still survived
+Aaron Mackellar He wasn't trying to kill him he was hoping he could have some fun fighting him so he dragged it out. He could've ended it anything he wanted it.
Soooooo how much would I have to pledge to your Patreon for you to make an entire review using the Hulk Hogan voice?
FYI, Hanabee has the full version of Monster for us down under. Region Encoding shouldn't be an issue because if you're worth any salt it's easy to bypass it.
Fell in love with this show. I love the subtle humor and how it makes fun of typical anime stereotypes.
The first few seconds..*how have you not watch Gintama by now?!!!*
Because it's long.
But that alone shouldn't stop you from watching one of the- well Imo truly best comedy anime I know
+Mysterio Cosmo true but it can put people off. Especially when you got a busy outside life. Still definitely worth a watch.
G_Spark233 Yeah that makes sense
+G_Spark233 like one piece lol. Who the hell wants to watch over 700 episodes of something..
You are my OnePunchMan of anime reviewing! You've been a huge inspiration to me and I hope to be a great reviewer like you are when I can afford some better tech.
Can someone tell me WHO THE FUCK IS THE CLASS S RANK 1 HERO BLAST!!!!
+Ari Liu it isn't king, he is 7 in the ranking of S class , but he is treated like the most powerfull hero after Blast, Blast is yet to be shown in the web comic but Tatsumaki had already spoken about him
Thy Dragon Thanks for the correction.
Spoilers:
Little is know of Blast.
Thanks for sharing!
yes homestuck gets an anime it's called act 7
Father Stank jesus
Seeing a GR Anime Review in related videos always brightens my day. :P
Ive already watched the whole anime, the mange and the web comics, I FEEL EMPTYYYYY, ITS BEEN 5 MONTHSSSS.. 😥
How you liking Boku dake ga inai machi?
+Pixy Wing he didn't ask you, nerd
+Ernesto Sera I just finished the manga... and I have to say... I was a little let down. It's basically "All You Need Is Kill" + the entire plot to "Life is Strange". Like seriously... (spoilers sort of)
The ending to Life is Strange and Erased are EXACTLY the same, except Life is Strange draws it out a little longer making it feel more like a battle between hero and murderer, where in Erased it's over in a few chapters.
Genos is like a main character without plot armor
It's not the fly, but the mosquito. I think Genos killed it.
Genius killed all the mosquito but Saitama killed the queen mosquito
"While it wasn't my pick for best anime of last year, (shoutout to *CUTE TEENAGE GIRLS* )"
*And the stereotype lives on.*
its been 5 years. FIVE years. i still remember waiting for the next episode.
So in truth saitama's worst enemy is bureaucracy
DRJOYCEPHD haha
*The Mosquito*** Not fly xD But funny point, I always find it so funny that he can't kill it.
I legit thought he was gonna knock himself out by hitting himself with his one punch...
Awesome review, i love your way of narrating but also when you are on camera, you're very charismatic and really know how to get your point across, instant subscribe and im now gonna take a dive in all your videos :D
Gintama and one punch man: best shonen imo
OPM is a seinin.
+General Grizzy One Punch Man is actually a Seinen
+G_Spark233 It's both
Yasseen Semlali how so?
+G_Spark233 this Seinen and Shonen debate again, i hate it, there is no solid definition for the words, Shonen and Seinen just basically series for boy with Seinen explore more mature theme, but that is, who decide that for an anime, who can say that an anime doesn't have any mature themes
omg omg .. i am freaking out b4 watching the video ..... i watch like 8 times every episode >.< i cant watch your review arcada .. i need some rum b4 i watch it
+legna20v i lived ...
Is that the 'It's always sunny in Philadelphia' music I hear when you're describing Sakuga? Respect
ikts a mosquito. Fear the mosquito!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mosquitos suck!
G_Spark233 // I see what you did there
Should have shaved your head for the review
Lady's and gentleman and others... What does he mean by others? Hermaphrodits?

ONE PUUUUNCH!!!

Fukou da...
if it wasn't for the animation and art this series would be worthless.
Akemi Homura Agreed
