Amazing demo!!! I'm getting both! Kudos on your playing.
I have the Aqua Puss on my board now and it's a killer.. I'm not a big delay user but this one is cool. I use it mostly for a slap back effect.. Nice demo..
Both awesome pedals! It seems to me that the mxr would be the choice for a more ambient delay effect where as the Aqua puss seems to me a more noticeable and cut through better.
I use the Aqua Puss delay for old school retro slap back. I play a Gretsch 6120 Eddie Cochran model into a Savage Macht 6 amp. It nails that rockabilly sound perfectly.
Both sound great and cost almost the same thing. MXR wins for me because it is more compact. Great video!
I've got both. it's easy AP for slap back. MXR for longer stuff.
Am i crazy or does the aquapuss sound a bit like a chorus pedal when it's settings are low?
I wonder which one to choose ? I curently use a Maleko Ekko 616 that sounds round and warm but I'd like something more transparent.
Hello, RJ is it the best Delay pedal for Gilmour Stuff and U2 dotted 8th rythm technique ? ? T-Rex ? Another choice ? Actually have the Malekko 616 ( analog and warm sound I love !!!)...thanks for your answer , regards from France , Gaëtan
Great demo, thanks! Have you tried the new Seymour Duncan Vaper Trail! :)
Well Jeorge Tripps specified the CC and designed the AP from bottom up, so he had a finger in both. For longer delay times and optional darker tones w. WHE one would have to go with the EchoPuss, which is a bit more complex pedal and more of a tape delay emulator, or capable of being one. Looking into buying that one of those. Then I'm a huge fan of WHE in general as most things WHE just sounds great in my rig somehow.
Both great ! but I hear the guitar more with the CC, I like that
Hi Shane -- great channel. I own the Aqua Puss. It's manual urges its placement BEFORE any distortion pedal. I've tried it before and after and, indeed, I prefer it before the distortion (contrary to general wisdom). Great pedal. Might be cool to have the Carbon Copy as well to add after the distortion and switch between one and the other.
Delay should always go in the effects loop
@@CHOPERUS23 Complete horse manure.
It depends on the amp you're using. My main rig for live playing is a Tweed Blues Junior, and the accompanying pedalboard consists of (from right-to-left) a Mini Crybaby, a Tube Screamer, a Boss Chorus pedal, and then the Carbon Copy. The tone is awesome, and I get many compliments about it. I typically leave a slight chorus and slapback delay on all the time, and hit the Tube Screamer and/or the Crybaby on top of them for solos. It's a great combo. However, I recently bought a special edition blackface Princeton amp (with knotty pine cabinet and a 12" Celestian creamback speaker), and as much as it is a beautiful amp the above pedalboard does not fit it so well. As fate would have it, my beloved brother Steve just passed in 2020 and left me lots of extra gear including three pedals that work great with the Princeton: - a Boss CS-2 Compression/Sustainer, a Fender Engager Boost, and an Aqua Puss. It makes for a great pedalboard that still retains a clean sound. The Aqua Puss is more of a metallic or synth sound than the more versatile Carbon Copy (which I prefer of the two), however it seems to work well with the cleaner amp & signal chain. The Carbon Copy seems to work better with the more gain-driven amp, and especially following a chorus and tube-screamer (or Blues Driver).
Hey that's helpful. I use a Tweed Jnr as well as a couple different amps. I love my TS, BD-2 & Chorus :) TS doesn't always work with my other amps.
Shoutout to your brother, may he rock in peace. Take care mate.
I've bought the GT-OD recently, It sounds really good, but it doesn't clean up with the guitar's volume knob, compared to my lovepedal amp 11 it sucks in this regard ;)
Both are really nice. I find the carbon copy is more versatile.
Your guitar and amp alone have deep, rich tone. Do you have a mic on the amp? If so, what kind of setup do you use.
You finally got me to prefer a way huge pedal... I prefer the aqua puss... it just sounds a little cleaner and natural to me... its really the only way huge pedal i dig...
o cara regula os pedais diferentes, nao tem como comparar, foda,,orelhão rs
Here's my 02 - I gigged for years with pretty much all MXR stuff. 1 - it was made close to me and so was a local hero company at that time - but more importantly 2) their stuff was absolutely bulletproof. Even when other stuff may have sounded a little better for recording - for live I kept coming back to MXR -it always always worked, no matter how many beers got spilled on it or going from -20 in the truck to 80 on the stage. Love MXR - it's still good stuff w Dunlop.
That's pretty cool man 👍
In this context they're equally great. Imho. Ymmv.
Im listening this with some background noise but does the aquapuss sounds like it has a little modulation on it? Or is just my imagination? 😆
Is there a price difference? Is one more frequent than the other on the used market?
Would have liked to have heard more clean tones in this demo. I had the Aqua Puss for a while, but it was too bright. I prefer the MXR CC - it sounds more like my old Boss DM-3. Plus it has modulation, it's smaller, prettier, and it doesn't have a stupid name.
what pedal board is that?
Both sound great. I'm not sure how you would pick one over the other unless there is a cost difference.
Where I live they cost exactly the same.
They used to laugh at me for stacking delays! Hahaha now it's becoming the norm, but I own bith the carbon copy aqua puss echo puss suppa puss and obscura altered delay... I took the aqua puss off my board only because the echo puss is basically the same but with more control... So I have the echo puss for more ambient , liquid texture almost reverberation but very liquid, then the suppa puss with an expression pedal, this I think is the crazies best pedal ever conceived... The carbon copy and all the Pusses are made by the same dude Jeorge Tripps, he's a freaking genius! After the supa puss the carbon copy if I want the love tweaking of the supa puss to sound even more spacey or I can use it first for a more traditional slap back or Gilmouresque delay... And finally the Obscura Altered delay, another gem in the delay world... I still don't know how to use all it's features but man... You will get lost in a teippy journey through time bending!!! I recommend stacking delays. So sweet!
4:27 sound very good
Carbon copy for me. 👍🏻😎
I like the aqua puss do wish it had one extra switch like Hall sound it has. Would like small room sound and studio clean and clean that compliments tube steamer mini.
What settings on aqua puss will do this ???
Cool channel!! Review of Earthquake Dev. Palisades? ;)
Rome was on fire and no one could save me, but you.
MXR for me
@intheblues what amp you use for this demo ?
he told you
Both sound very good, however: ( for me ) MXR in this Demo. The Carbon Copy, does not step-on your sound, and the Repeats are Darker and sit ( less intrusively ) in the background. The MXR also has the Modulation. Its smaller in size, and MXR Pedals are very durable. - Michael Caz - NYC -
The same designer made both of those pedals. Sorry can't remember his name.
Odin Runes Jeorge Tripps. There's a great interview with him on here somewhere.
Dave Wiese Cool Thanks!
@@davethepius I think on that pedal show
Green Rhino vs Saucy Box. Help me please.
John Hardin tube screamer or klon centaur?
That lick at 4:29 😍🤭👊🤟
Always hard to arrive at the end of the vid when the guitar is not in tune..anyway your demos are really well made. Tnks!!
I usually go with CC as MXR analog modulation tend to be great at keeping your original tone in tact. The CC or CCD can basically do everything.
The Aqua Puss is thicker, syrupier, and inconsistent (drop) in volume. It has a !xobile kind of pause click with each delay. It's basically only really useful for slap back (If your blend goes past 9). It's a one trick pony, but inspite of that, it is a very very good trick that many will find useful.
Mxr sounds more transparent
Ibanez ad202 demo
Did you say that Telecaster had "Joe Biden pickups"
Aqua pUss for the win! CC sounds like poop
First
You had to be that guy.
Case Ayers
Of course, you know how it is hehe. Saw the opportunity I had to take it
How what is? What is it exactly?
And the Winner is..........................................................................Carbon Copy!!!
Not one of your better demos
joe biden pickups???
No
😂 I could’ve sworn I’d heard that too
Your guitar is out of tune.
Andreas Gisler he tunes 🎸 it to his own colours. The guys the new Hendrix 👍🏻🎸
I'm here for the repeats, not the song!
