It's impossible to not feel happy while listening to this song.
I get sad hearing this because I think of the feather scene where mary and francis stare at each other passionately and then I think of him dead and her alone.

This scene and this song are so...amazing. I know that it sets up both sides of the "love triangle," but for me, there is no doubt that "back to you" is ALL about Mary and Francis. Their eyes lock and it's electric - you can literally SEE them being pulled towards each other like magnets. No matter what outside forces push them apart, they will always find their way back to each other. THAT my friends is how you begin an EPIC love story.

In many ways, this first season touches us all and reminds us of our own loss of innocence, when we thought love would last, that life was fun, that there was no backstabbing or threats in the woods, that friendship would always last and that we'd be the very best version of ourselves that we imagined. In other ways, the entire series is a redemption arc for many of the main characters showing that it is possible to overcome misstakes and get "right back to you" because there are signs to follow and people waiting there for us, even if we don't get back until we die.
I wish Francis didn't die in Reign, and in history. Many arranged marriage's were so awful for a woman in that century, but then we have true love with these two by all historical accounts and Francis dies so young. 😕I can't even imagine being forced to remarry so fast all to end up being a political prisoner for almost half her life then die by the ax horribly. I'm glad Queen Mary had some love in her life while in France with Francis at least. 💜🥀
