I understand Tango's frustration. MAX clank almost feels like it has no consequences. They just ran past level 1 and that's it. I imagine tango wants people to rush by level 1 when your going deeper, and what's happening is people farming level 1 for embers and treasure and only go down in almost max clank 😂😅
@@lucaquewhen I was watching Tango's episodes earlier in the season I thought he'd made it too hard, so it's crazy to see that he's needed to make it harder.
Yeah, that +32 ember run was something I had been thinking about since DO2 was still in development. Theoretically there’s nothing stopping a player from using a frost ember heavy deck and going for an easy run because there’s no need to focus on the longevity of your deck when your only on the first level. I’m interested to see what Tango’s cooking up to fix that.
I can forsee him delaying the activation of certain cards until the keys for the staircases have been used. That's what I'd do. You want a Reckless Charge? Well my friend, do it on Level 3 or not at all. Muahahaha! 😈
Assuming you get all the drops which is improbable without having jump boost for one ember spot, also intensive map knowledge... it's easy to miss out on the ember spots near the entrance of the dungeon and the one leading directly to the key room because you need to cover a certain distance, and ravagers and hazards require you to take a long way around to get to one ember spot to another
An idea might be to limit how many embers are allowed to appear on each floor, maybe 15 per floor seems a reasonable balance between allowing players to lean into ember heavy deck strategies while still encouraging going deeper
Since each frost ember dropper has its own percentage chance to actually release an ember, floor 1 droppers can just have their ember percentage reduced. No major changes needed.
I just have to say again... Of all the awesome inventions and automations of Decked Out 2, The "game status" card is the most amazing thing I've ever seen. This feature alone should cause Mojang/Microsoft to buy the game from Tango and pay the man.... Also, supply him free beer for life.
The only thing is hypno win to death ratio is one of lowest. I honestly think hypno is a contender, however he is mostly risk instead of reward. So far pearl and etho have consistedly win the majority of the games even though they are on medium. It’s still only week 2 though, things can change
So glad to see Hypno picking up all the berries! Drives me crazy that the others just drive by them then start fretting later in the run when they can't sprint anymore.
I saw Run 22 from Tango's perspective and the cackling when you got stuck in the ravine was unholy. I think it was boosted by the fact Tango was incredibly concerned about you walking out of the dungeon with dozens of frost embers due to your cards. Unlucky!
The water features are normal hazard triggers, but at max clank, hazard increases twice as quick so most of them will activate if you're in there at max clank for so long
I remember Tango talking about max clank not being dangerous enough, so I made a suggestion to add those water features. Happy he went with that, seems to work pretty well. :D
Tango isn’t against hypno, just against the philosophy he has that clank and hazard don’t kill. Many cards become obsolete if it’s not actually a threat to be careless
@@wikiuser92 i don't think tomes are worth it yet honestly. For the price of six tomes he's added 2 tomes per run to most of his future runs. Economy is king
I think pearl might be a good contender. Hypno is focusing on embers and quickly rushing out of the dungeon which lets him get large multi card purchases on a success as we saw in the video, but pearl is going for the opposite in a way. She’s going heavy on treasure and clank block cards and slowly crawls through the dungeon picking up and farming as much as possible. She’s averaging around 6 crowns a game, if she can get just one loot and scoot or another uncommon treasure card she’ll have a really solid “infinite run” deck. I personally prefer Hypnos play style and it works for him because he’s insane at the parkour and ravager wranglin but it’s a very unforgiving, “all or nothing” build. Pearls is a lot more forgiving if you drop a couple of runs. It’ll be interesting to see how they develop once they get closer to 40 cards and their decks get a bit more diluted and less focused on a specific build.
I love the way you edit these and the commentary. And the way you’re playing it. Going for the big runs makes this so exciting to watch. Hope you keep them going! Even though some of them didn’t pan out, I think all the practice and dungeon knowledge is going to pay off big in the long run.
Hypno! You are a legend I know you had some lackluster phase 2 runs but you have insane map knowledge! Ik this week was a busy but come back better than ever!! You’ll win overall if you keep sprinting!
Your commentary (hearing your thoughts and strategy as you move through the game) really makes these runs interesting to watch beyond all the action, it's like a chess match between you and Tango to push the game to its limits, love to see it
You and Pearl are (imo) making the best game play decisions both inside and buying cards. I’m routin for you two to win! And I think if you’re 1 for 4 on hard mode… it’s hard enough!
I watch all the hermits, and there are some exceptionally good players. Cub, Etho, Gem, Papa K, Jevin, Doc and Scar come to mind. Hypno is just built different. The others all have aspects of what makes Hypno a threat (awareness, high level movement tech, parkour skills, chill demeanor under stress, map knowledge, etc), but Hypno is seriously held back only by bad luck. Buddy beat GeminiSlay clean, and then styled on Tango's 13+ month magnum opus. Just. Built. Different.
Yo Hypno! Great runs!! A thought that may bring traffic to the hermitcraft site: stat sheets for the ravagers and hazards of decked out, showing how many times each has killed each hermit and kill totals.
The Left TnT wing of Floor 1 has at least 4 Treasure/Ember locations that no one really checks, also instead of trying to jump the RoS you could have turned around and dove into the TnT wing @27:20
One thing to bear in mind is that I remember Tango clarifying on a stream that the +X cards don't mean a GUARANTEED +X drop in the dungeon, but +X ATTEMPTS to drop that loot. So some randomness is always inevitable on top of actually being able to find those drops in time. Though I would ask him for confirmation.
Don't think I have screamed at my TV so much in years! I , along with my family lol, am addicted to watching your decked out runs. Rooting for you to win! Congratulations on your runs so far.

18:20 that jump should be possible from that chiseled deep slate block on the right, definitely intended to be a jumpboost only path but I say fair game if tango hasn't blocked it

Hypno's analysis after the second run was on point. I immediately thought, "no don't hesitate", and then it was too late. It would have been a risky move still, but the chance was high!
Still love those runs! You slowly start to build a really good deck. And after the first run, I could really understand why Tango dislikes the use of honey / suspicious stews. You only had to start digging into your berries late into the run, so you could collect much of it, which helped massivly for the end of it.
Tango's not trying to prevent you from succeeding - he's trying to make max-clank actually be a death sentence vs just a minor difficulty you easily overcome xD

best solution to reckless charge I can think of it to require not a shrieker but clank increase. meaning you'd have to balance your decks around it to not have too much clank block or you'll probably waste the card, and makes it only useful late run or early run when it's also a choice to really deal with the consequences
Ravagers don’t come after you unless you have line of sight with the center of them, that’s why sometimes you look at their face and they don’t seem to care!
