RIP JIM BROWN! WE APPRECIATE THE PLIGHT YOU PERFORMED FOR CIVIL RIGHTS AND YOUR DOMINANCE ON THE GRID IRON. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE, SIR! WE APPRECIATE ALL THAT YOU DID FOR US!
@Anthony Davis if he did they deserved it its always a silly mafuka to try and bring up some negative on a person who did nothing but positive all his life and you know these women be lying so if u have no hard proof he did it shut up
😪❤🩹🙏💪🥇 I was born during his first season as a Brown, during their glory days, and made them even better. I have memories of watching grainy TV with my Dad and brother, and never saw my Dad so happy as a Clevelander and a man. Jim transformed everything around him with pure strength and comittment...How I wish he could've witnessed CLE in a super bowl...RIP big guy.
I thought the team was named after Jim Brown when I was 5 or 6. I remember seeing him standing in front of Juanita’s Restaurant at 105th and Wade Park. That is when Black athletes moved through the community like fish through water. He was larger than life. His greatest achievement was the gang truce he negotiated in L.A. Come on Dawgs, let’s win this one for Jim Brown.
I have watched a number of Jim Brown tribute videos since his passing. I must say that this one is the best, and rightfully from the Browns organization. Thank you for the life you lived, Mr Brown. God bless your soul.
There's a quote saying, "Don't cry that it's over, smile because it happened. Many, including myself, might cry because you are gone, but we can smile because you existed and made things happen. Thank you, Jim Brown for everything and many who have helped you to paved a way to help us 🙏🏿😔.
The nfl lost not just a awesome nfl legend, but an icon in the history of the United States. And the Cleveland Browns will never be the same without him. Rest in peace jim brown. Your an iconic and legendary status will be honored and not be forgotten. The nfl lost an iconic man. Who will be greatly missed.
My Kardiac Kid Heart is devastated. RIP Jim, the greatest to ever run the ball. God bless his family, friends, the Cleveland Browns, and the Dawg Pound. Let's get this one for him!
His legacy is much more than his football career and acting career. His true legacy is what he did to raise up people who needed help!! A truly great Person!
I'm from Detroit (blow the reveille)! _"He knew where the goal-line was."_ *IN LIFE!* (as many have already said) *THE G.O.A.T.!* *RIP JIM BROWN!* (he was my hero) Peace. Stay Healthy! - Dave B.
My dad was born in 1950 Jim brown was really special to my family from the 50s to the 60s. My father grew up poor and they had radio, they would listen to old games at home, especially about Mr Jim Brown. My father who is in his 70s, calls me and says son today we lost a great one. I bet this brought flashbacks of him playing pretending to be the fastest and the toughest. Love you Dad and RIP Jim Brown
I met him when I was 11 at the Orangebowl in Miami when he played in the Pro Playoff Bowl. He was the most impressive human I have ever met. He gave me his autograph, but I felt I had just seen an African King. That meeting was a day I will always remember. He was only 25 at the time.
Great athlete and an even GREATER MAN! God blessed us with a messager with the Courage to speak Truth to power and who stood for what's Right. We can never know the full impact he made toward the progress of people. But if you look for Civil Rights and opportunities he is there. Thank you Jim Brown for being our Brother!🙌🏽🙏🏽
My grandfather always told me that he was the greatest he ever watched all his life. The greatest to ever carry a football. Class person and actor to boot. Absolute hero
the only thing that could tackle jim brown was age and even that had a hell of a hard time bringing him down, we will never forget you jim. you are and will always be the goat of football. rest in peace jim.
I vote to place a #32 patch on the uniforms this season to honor his life and legacy on and off the field. As fans, a jersey and a patch for us to purchase, and all the proceeds go towards the organizations his was a part of
We miss you Jim.We will always remember you.Your Grandkid’s Kids and beyond will learn about you and will be inspired by you.😢R.I.P Jim Brown Feb 17th-1936-May 19th 2023😢😢😢😢😢
I was lucky enough to watch him on TV back in the day. Never forget the 64 NFL Championship against the Colts. Although Unitas was my hero; I just new #32 would pull it off against all my friends. One the best there ever was.
He was one of the most physically gifted athletes in the history of American sports (w Thorpe, Owens, Mantle, Mays, Jordan, Bo Jackson, Trout .... ). Guys like him are born but 2 or 3 in every generation !
R.I.P Jim Brown 32. A great man on and off the field. A deference maker. In Football and movies and most of all in civil rights . And to help make our country better. I'm so blessed to have been able to watch Jim Brown play football for the team I fell in love with as a child. And I played some running back in Jr high. He is the greatest running back of all time. Thank you Jim Brown 32.
I remember him growing up near Cleveland, Ohio. Great running back. He helped train Leroy Kelly and he too made the NFL Hall of Fame. Then he helped youth from that time until he left this earth. I trust he is in a better place. RIP Mr. Jim Brown.
JB was the g.o.a.t he's always going to be a top 5 rb regardless of the list you can't make one without him it's still crazy to me how he has 8 rushing titles and only played 9 seasons plus he still holds records and hasn't played in over 50 years the man was more than a athlete he was amazing on the field but he was greater off of it I am so glad me and my dad got a picture with him in the 90s and even happier he got his respect and flowers while living r.i.p to the legend because this one hurts
I was flying back to Cleveland with my one year old, and Jim was sitting in the front seat. I didnt want to bother him because so many people were bugging him at the gate. As we walk on the plane, he gives his classic Jim Brown nod and smile. My one year old takes his binky out and essentially solutes him. It was surreal.
Rest in peace to your idols and idol #goat it’s a honor you played for my city of Cleveland and to represent the black community thank you You will always live on!!!✊🏾
I remember as a very young Lad. My Pa purchased me a a Cleveland Browns uniform and football for Christmas. I spent many days thereafter, rolling in the mud, a young kid, pretending to be Jim Brown, plowing through the field, dodging, weaving, slipping, running, moving, sloshing though the mud on to a Jim Brown touchdown!!!
It wasn't just that he defined what a black man could be in this world, he defined how "any" man could be in this world. A man against boys. A legend who will live in sports and world history forever,
The video you linked is a 1968 interview with Jim Brown. In the interview, Brown talks about his football career, his acting career, and his activism. He also talks about his philosophy on life and his hopes for the future. Brown was a dominant force on the football field. He was a nine-time Pro Bowler, an eight-time All-Pro, and a four-time NFL MVP. He led the league in rushing eight times and retired as the NFL's all-time leading rusher. Brown's acting career was also successful. He appeared in over 30 films, including "The Dirty Dozen," "100 Rifles," and "Any Given Sunday." He was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in "The Dirty Dozen." Brown was also an outspoken activist. He was a vocal critic of the Vietnam War and he supported the civil rights movement. He was also a founder of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Brown was a complex and fascinating man. He was a brilliant athlete, a talented actor, and a dedicated activist. He was also a philosopher and a visionary. He had a deep understanding of the world and he had a clear vision for the future. Brown's legacy is immense. He was one of the greatest athletes of all time and he was also a major figure in the civil rights movement. He was a role model for millions of people and he inspired them to strive for excellence. He was a true American icon.
Hands down, The absolute best running back of all time ! NO ONE could touch him. If Jim Brown had played longer, Walter Payton NEVER would have caught him in career rushing yards. OJ, Gale Sayers, Eric Dickerson, Barry Sanders, All good players along with Payton. BUT ALL take a back seat to Jim Brown ! Defenders used to say it was almost like Jim Brown wasn't human when they tried to tackle him. He led the NFL in eight of the nine seasons he played in in rushing. He rarely fumbled, and he carried the ball out away from his body, where players would try to swat it away. They couldn't because he had a steel grip on the ball. Jim Brown ran over, through, and around defenders. Not such a great guy off the field, and not a great actor. But on the football field, and in the history of the NFL, he is king !
He was a bit before my time, but the respect he garnered across the sports world & beyond says it all. The only player i could compare him to from my generation would be Payton or Sanders. Similar to Barry in that they walked away at the peak of their careers. His work in inner city charities is remarkable. Truly a legend on and off the field. He tried to make the world a lil better with the time he was given thats a life well lived. God bless his family.
RIP to the greatest running back to ever exist
He was a fullback but same thing
It’s sad
